Sunday league, about his level. He was once a very promising talent who never reached his potential.

Should their away support keep strong, we might, just might hit a thousand when FCUoM visit in March. That'll be nice. Still not a big gate though, when you think about it.

I spoke to Matt and although it wouldn't be right to say all of what was said in conversation, he did explain that several of our players were carrying knocks, and so perhaps a draw is a good result in the end. We can look forward to Gloucester where we will hopefully get another 3 points, and a clean sheet. Matt is a top man, we are lucky to have him, Carl and the rest of the staff.
Back to the game itself, we had two centre-backs on loan from West Brom for a month, and I thought both were brilliant! Excuse me not knowing either of their names, but the number 4 in particular I thought was top notch.

The thing I am most annoyed about isnt the game (which was poor) but that Matt Gardiner had a heckler in the crowd. From what i heard, he was asked why dunkley was subbed, and when he said he was injured, the reply was "pity its not you". Unacceptable comment towards a man that i feel we are lucky to have around. I think Matt thought it was my dad who called it out, but it certainly wasnt, and we are now sat in the bar hoping to catch him. Whoever shouted it out; shame on you. Talk to the man if you have an issue, he is very approachable and willing to listen.

Thanks for the attendance! Although other teams are away from home as it were, it's a poor attendance when you note that Stourbridge managed to bring in over 1,800 against Halesowen in the league below. I certainly think we had a large portion of the crowd, I'll be amazed if Gloucester bring as many to Aggy as we did the Cheltenham. To put into perspective......Halesowen and Stourbridge have always been popular derbies with the distance between the two only around 5 miles. In addition, of course, there is a much better bus service than Worcester with West Midlands buses running every 10 minutes or so both ways (the ground is a 5 minute walk from the Stourbridge bus terminus). Dodger. all true, and I have no solution, just making an observation that the crowd could have/should have been better.Playng away from home may be taking its toll on both teams.

The last I heard about Shab was that he hadn't signed up for this year at all, but I hope you're right that he's on a pay as you play. It's a really good shout for an emergency defender eitherway. We know he's loyal to the city and always puts a shift in - If I was the manager, I'd phone him up and ask if he's willing - for bench duty at least. I don't think Carl would be able to start, but he might be a choice to be on the bench, should we have nobody better available.
I can see Burton doing okay as a stop-gap defender, so won't shoot you down, but I'd probably have Gater and Weir ahead of them, and should be able to move the squad about to fill their usual positions. It'll be interesting no matter what!

Glad to hear it'll be dealt with - if we have any trouble in the return fixture, I'd like to think that our Stewards will do as those at Gloucester did and remove them from the ground. We have many more stewards then most, yet often struggle to deal with the unruly few.

A game we could do with winning, but will be hard as we've got plenty of injuries at the back during a busy time. WN have just reported that Morris is our only fit centreback who will be available: www.worcesternews.co.uk/sport/14168999.Defensive_crisis_leaves_Worcester_City_chasing_loan_centre_half_before_Brackley_Town_clash/If there's no chance of getting a loan signing, or even recalling Clayton McDonald, then it probably would have to be Deeney as centre back, but then there's still a problem of not having a backup. Assuming all is fit, here is how I'd lineup: Harrad Hughes Vincent Nti Jackman Gater Weir Deeney Morris Minihan Vaughan Dunkley has been much better then I expected as a starter, but looked a little tired when he came off imo, so I'd put him on the bench, and try to rest him up for the Gloucester return fixture. Harrad to be given a chance to lead the attack against a team we should be looking to score a couple against - if he doesn't do much, I'd consider ''moving him on''. Hughes on the left wing ready to cut inwards when needed, Vincent and Nti making up the rest of the attack, but I'd expect Vincent to drop deep and help out his midfield often. Jackman to move back to centre mid alongside Gater, the short player - tall player partnership usually works well! Weir to get back in the starting side as leftback with Deeney next to him in a reluctant central role, ready to partner up with the much improved Morris, and the rather consistent starter Minihan to fill the right back position. Vaughan to be between the sticks simply to give some experience at the back, as Tyler will be our oldest defender at 25. Who would you start? We're lucky to have a lot of options up front, but it's so sketchy at the back right now.

City won, Deon being the impact sub! Good game all round, worth the trip.
Id like to say sorry to the stewards and Gloucester fans who had to put up with the minority of our lot who where more focused on making a nuisance of themselves rather then watching the game. Police came into the ground and several of the crowd were taken out - from both sides I believe. We don't want fights, we want football!

About 15 of our children have stayed behind the one goal in with the Gloucester fans, was some pushing and shoving and the 5 stewards have a job on their hands.

Halftime, 0-0. We are probably the better side but doesn't mean much if you don't show it on the scoresheet.
Must say I've been impressed with Dunkley and Gater today, both taking their chances in the starting lineup.

I've always had the theory that we gift the games to Gloucester, to keep them in the league - it's good for us to have some locals at our level. This year however, we're struggling a bit too this season, so it's probably time to look after ourselves too! 4 points over the 2 Games would be excellent IMO.

I note that wcfcnb82 said it's not meant to cause offence, but we should be considerate, Jane and Niels do it for free, including sorting out the music.
I certainly prefer Jane and Niels to what some other clubs put out. Solihull with the bloke who reads out a sponsorship every five seconds over the speakers (which I think they might have got from a PC World bargain bin). Kiddy last season for the senior cup had the chap on the pitch trying to look all professional in his suit with his clipboard, yet struggled to correctly read almost everything on it, or the countless clubs which just have one depressed sounding bloke murmur the team sheet and attendance like it's an afterthought.
I feel like we actually have it rather good with our pairing! I'll agree, the ''if Southport can hang on'' comment was wrong, but I for one usually enjoy some of the remarks put out - Highlight of the 'PA season' so far was when we were getting hammered by Hednesford ''Are those rain clouds I see''. I'm sure both would own up and say they could be more professional, but I don't think we should want that! They show a light hearted side which I think makes it more enjoyable.

Forecast for Cheltenham is a bit of rain today, fairly solid rain tomorrow, but dry on Saturday and Sunday... then loads of the wet stuff on Monday when Cheltenham have their next home game. The ground should be rather well maintained, I'd like to think the morning and early afternoon of dry should allow any water to drain more then enough to be playable.
Their game on Monday is surely more the doubt, and calling off Saturday wouldn't solve it much.

There were just 6 - 10 of them on Saturday vs Gainsborough, the group grew in size in just a couple of days. They're a bit like the Sand people from Star Wars...

I certainly didn't like seeing them try and get under the skin of the 5-6 Southport fans. I don't want to discourage them from coming - the extra noise, crowd and money boost is surely welcome... just not the annoying wannabe hooliganism.
While we're on the topic of the silly children from last night, can we also try and cut down on the ''you fat [expletive]'' whenever the opposition keeper kicks the ball. Seeing as half of those who shout it wouldn't look out of place in a sumo ring, it shouts out hypocrisy, and just isn't true for 90% of keepers.
I really enjoy the odd ''Ellis Deeney, he's better then Troy'' chant, or the once in a blue moon ''Heeley give us a wave'' and I'm sure with a bit of thinking, they could come up with some more family friendly, yet entertaining chants!

Ref wasn't great, that's for certain. As has been said, it was never a foul for the third of their goals. Differences between a full time and part time operation showed imo. They worked out what our strengths and weakness' were, and played around them. We played well, ignoring poor defending of set pieces, which still needs a lot of work. Piling players into the box and praying isn't working!
My highlight of the game was watching their manager, who I would hate to have as the man in charge of the club I support. In the first half he said ''well done'' to his players several times when really, they hadn't done much... he soon stopped when the crowd got on his back. Wearing a suit and looking like he's trying to portray the professional look but then swearing like a trooper. Everything the man did made me cringe.

Thank you to Sean for some magnificent memories that will live on long in many of us. Sadly the form of 2014 hasn't been replicated, and perhaps going back to a place you know well is for the best. I hope you can find form once more, and one day move on to a club in the football league.

Players come and go - largely, I think we've done well keeping players about so far this season, the core of the team is still the same. Someone more in the know then me would have to confirm, but I thought Geddes was signed until the end of the year, so either one party is paying off his contract, or a club has come in for him. If Geddes does turn out to be the one who leaves (if there's one to leave at all), then I'd like us to find a replacement. We cannot rely on Jacko and Gater alone to play in midfield alongside Deeney, both have a history of injuries. I hear there's a good little midfielder at Banbury right now. Nash, is it? I believe Clayton was on a 3 month loan, from about the start of October, so should be back early in the new year, unless his loan deal gets extended. He has had a decent run of games for Corby recently, not that it's helped them climb the league. I could come up with reasons for just about any of our players to leave, so won't put my two pence worth.

Well, I feel Gainsborough were probably the better team, their passing was good, but really needed a player to finish off the move every time, and that was why they didn't score, and we came out victors.
City did well, Nti had a great run in the first half down the right flank, before getting in a cross which Lee Hughes received well to put us in the lead - worth noting that Shaun Harrad had also made a good run from our half to make himself also available for the cross - I think he did just enough to disrupt the defenders away from Hughes.
Second half we looked the much worse team, as they kept on attacking, we struggled to mark players and stop them from playing the way they wanted. This was spotted by the management who reacted by putting Gater on who certainly had an impact in playing passing football - not the high balls and attempted clearances we had been doing for 20+ minutes before then. Waldron also came on for Dunkley (I think Dunkley had a knock) - did okay but must have had his boots on the wrong feet as he struggled to stay on his feet from the moment he got on the pitch. Finally Deon Burton came on for Hughes, and really did improve or passing game in my opinion. Shortly after, Nelson-Addy made a good run down the right, crossed the ball, and after a couple of fluffed passes and attempts to make contact from both teams, Ebby moved in and scored the second.
Enjoyable game, I thought Jackman at left back was impressive, and so was Ethan Ross in goal, who had to come off his line a fair few times when our defenders were beaten. Very good performance for a rather heavily rotated side. Well done to the managers for making what I felt were some very good substitutions.
Also, thanks to Jane in the PA box, last home game I told her that I didn't hear her do the half-time draw (I think I was just talking away), so she got me to read out the numbers this week! That'll teach me.
