A new application for a second 100 seat stand has been put forward after the previous was withdrawn... this time the second stand will be alongside the existing one, along the side of the pitch, rather than on an end.

Craig Jones added today too. Squad is taking shape nicely - very glad that Ash, Marlon etc have kept the spine of this team together for the season to come - whenever it'll start!
Luke Rowe is the one I'm wanting back most now. Maybe not always the flashy player, but his ability to pick out a pass is great, to me he oozes quality at this level.

We'll done for organising it this way, Kev. Everyone will be happier (well, not everyone, but you know what I mean) Its WCFC, never known everyone be happy....unless of course we are all sat at Wembley in May ! We could get to the final, lift the vase and you'd still have some complaining that we didn't create enough chances etc! Well done on sorting the shed end Kev!

Fantastic win, great effort throughout the team! A decent crowd for a cold January night too, with 450 there, a decent turnout from Coventry too! The supporters really did add to the occasion, it's mad what an extra 100 or so on the gate can do to the feeling around the ground. Here's hoping a few of them keep turning up for the league games now, as I saw plenty who haven't been much/at all this season there, which really was great to see!
Into the last 16 we go, and away to the giant killers. Cannot let our guard down!

It all just seems a little bit... more.
The defence looks better drilled and quicker to close down their markers, the midfield is working wonders, Luke Rowe was always going to be a good signing, and is showing just how much of one after just 2 games! Mewies is making a lot of people eat their own words, Lockett is looking like a much improved player - last season it'd be fair to say he looked talented if raw, but a year on he's looking so much more ready for mens football, and should be playing higher than this level. Brain and Brown up front seem to have gelled, working out each others game more than before. Lets not of course forget the current support cast, who have undoubtedly put on some good performances fromthe bench too. Willis, Adaggio, Harrison all with goals in the last 2 games off the bench.
Credit to Ash and his team, he's managed to find a sweetspot recently. Lets hope it continues! Up the City!

To my understanding, Hereford had (has?) a supporter run online radio, which they offered to H&W to plug into. Again, if we had someone with the experience, knowledge, and willing (plus a bit of loose change they'd want to throw at online commentary), I'm sure they could do the same, and when Dan Johnson comes to our games, I'd be willing to bet he'd be happy enough adding his voice to it, especially if it's linked to the BBC as Herefords was/is.
Lets also not forget they got to the fa vase final the year they were at step 5. A lot of their coverage was of vase matches, what with them being something a bit special. Bromsgrove also had live coverage of at least one of their vase games in their good run 3 years ago.
Lets just hope the good results keep coming, the club goes far in the vase, and eventually climbs back up the leagues.

I usually listen the BBC HW on the way home from the football and even with a 9-0 victory we only got a few seconds airtime. Luctonians got several minutes. The local radio really have given up on us. Sadly it's the same for any club at step 5 of non league. Dan Johnson is H&W's roaming sports reporter, giving updates to the station on all the local games steps 3-5, and the odd ones lower than that too. Dan has to try and spread where he goes, but picks us probably 5-6 times a year, and you'll get a bit more coverage of what has happened, as he's not just picking it up off the club twitter feed. Hereford & Kiddy get full coverage as you'd expect as they're step 2. Unless it's done internally (have some volunteers at the club set up an online radio station giving live match updates), I don't think you'll find a single club at this level or the level above that has as much coverage on their local BBC station as we do. As sad as it is. As for the attendance Saturday, 30-40 turned up in the 10 minutes after kickoff. Everyone, make sure you add a couple of minutes to your journey to account for the webbs christmas traffic rush!

Should City win the battle of Dunkirk on Wednesday night, We'll be at home again in the next round against Shepshed Dynamo or Cadbury Athletic, who play Tuesday.
Likely outcome is Shepshed, who moved sideways to the United Counties League from the MFL this season. So far in the league, they have played 11, won 11, scoring 35 on the way... conceding just 1 goal.

The day we re-sign Danny Glover is the day I give up on WCFC! ! Any idea where Glover is nowadays? Last I heard he was at Nantwich playing with Clayton "turns like a double decker bus" Mcdonald, but not been in their team for a while that I've seen.

Oh dear oh dear. I always love how everyone knows how much each player is earning. I speak to most the players, most the backroom staff and most the board, most weeks... and beyond a couple of them who have outright told me what they earn, I've no idea who earns what! I can tell you none of them are on "big money" though! Lee Hughes is on £500 and £50 bonus Not to mention having his own personal hairdresser paid for by the club.

City play Desbrough in the second round of the FA Vase, match taking place on Sunday thanks to a clash with Bromsgrove at home on the Saturday. Plenty of things going on at the match, and with a chance at Wembley still in our dreams, it'll be one to keep a good eye on. City have produced two remembrance badges, that are on sale at the club shop (minimum donation of £3 each or both for £5) with all money raised from the sales going to RBL. A Christmas hamper prize draw begins, 25p a ticket, £1 for a book of 4 which City fans can buy, or take books to sell on. The draw will take place 15th December so you've got a while to sell a few! We are also TalkSports non league feature match of the weekend, which meant being mentioned several times yesterday in their weekend preview, both on and off the pitch, with Steve Goode being interviewed about Club history, new ground plans etc - Non league Preview where we are featured match: soundcloud.com/user-32452980/tony-incenzos-talksport2-non-league-preview-2-11-2018 Interview with Steve: soundcloud.com/user-542904498/steve-goode-on-talksport2-021118 Many thanks to Tony & Talksport for featuring us! Entry prices reduced to £6 adults, £4 concessions, £1 under 16's so a good excuse to try and bring a mate, especially if they normally support another team that played Saturday. If you're not able to get to the match, Tim & I will hopefully be trialing an online commentary of the match, not too dissimilar from that BBC H&W used to provide when we were a few leagues higher than we are now! We'll be using facebooks live function, which I don't think requires a facebook account to listen to, though if you do have one, you can send us your messages and we'll see them as they come in (hopefully a lot of celebration messages as Tyler scores a screamer! ). A link to the stream will be posted on here, club twitter & of course on the facebook when its live (probably about 2.50pm). If the commentary is popular (and we're actually any good at it!), then we will look to roll it out for future City games. It's a pleasant change from last season, although we are still homeless and struggling, theres a bit of life back in the club. Things are happening both on and off the pitch and things maybe look a little bit positive!

Although I wouldn't argue with Baldwin getting man of the match I thought Matt Birley had a stormer. I'd have gone with Forsyth for MOTM - plenty of players upped their game but I think that was the best shift Fozzy has had in a City shirt, which is saying something after some top performances last season. Matchball sponsor gets to pick their man of the match and award a bottle of bubbly to them after the match, as well as mentions on PA, programme and being invited for tea & nibbles in the board room - £50+vat... you should try and get your grandson to treat you to a matchball sponsorship with some of his winnings!!

Weather was horrible on the day - apparently the winds were strong enough to blow my laptop off the press bench and onto the floor when I went to make a cuppa!.. thankfully it was rescued by a gent in the stands, and still works! A decent first half with the only real moans going to balls being 10-15 yards off where they were intended, but I think a lot of that was wind - corner flag by the away turnstiles blew towards the road, those 'town end' blew towards the main stand - must have been horrible to play in. Second half was unattractive, and 10 man Long Eaton probably deserved a draw. For me Jezeph was the key player for City once again, I didn't rate him much to begin with but really do think he's learning his trade well and will only improve. Up next is Step 5 Desborough from the UCL www.worcestercityfc.org/news/fa-vase-2nd-round-draw-2357608.html To be played on Sunday 4th November.

Match preview is now live here: www.worcestercityfc.org/news/south-normanton-athletic-match-preview-a-2353951.htmlI've changed this preview to the ones previous this season, now including what facilities are at the ground (that I can remember at least), prices and even the names of the officials, should you feel the need to know! I'm never too sure what everyone really wants from previews/reports and the like, so please pop me a message if you think anything can be added/cut out and so on. Afraid due to the lack of seating along the side of the pitch at this game, Twitter updates will be more limited than usual, so best bet is to follow Worcester News live coverage for the match. I'll be behind goal for a pleasant change!

A mostly poor performance, and Quorn deserved 3 points but hopefully this will be a wake up call to a couple of players who underwhelmed - we cannot get complacent against any team, Wolves Sporting showed that on Saturday, and Quorn certainly showed it today. They were the best team we've played this season. To grab a point at the death when we have Turton, Reynolds, Caines, Smith, Birley, Withington and Gallinagh all unavailable is commendable to the "never say never" attitude the team seems to have. Now that, that is the spirit of POTENTIAL champions.

Here's hoping: however, we'll have to play better than Saturday, when for my money we didn't deserve more than a draw. Isn't it a sign of champions do win despite not playing well ? It's September Kev. Lets not get carried away.
