Blimey, fair play to the man. He is a very good player, and his goalscoring record improved massively after he left us, he's even got into England C team recently, so must have been doing something right.

I suspect there would be a fair few people willing to chip in a fiver each in order to have an oversized flag of sorts made, unless of course we already have one (not an England flag with WCFC on it). Something along the lines of that which Gloucester have. I know a few teams in our league have similar too.

Gudger is great, we have missed him recently. I'd play him alongside Sharpe with Donnellan in centre mid with Jacko. Jamie Smith on the left, either murphy or nti on right and hughes up front. Our new man to come on as a sub, give him 30 minutes or so with the players.
It's tough to make a line up right now though because of new players along with those we have coming back from injury, we're spoilt for choice in all but centre mid.

Glad you got it off your chest Archie, I believe Jem said on here recently that transparency is key, well that also applies to what supporters think of things past, present and future! Myself I don't much mind the bad eggs being named or not, so long as they never have involvement in the club again. The good eggs being put with the bad however, is a sad state.
I cannot much see why we simple fans should be wary of naming and shaming those who have wronged us, however for an individual to do it, in particular an individual who were/are a member of the clubs hierarchy, or the ST's, might be perceived to be unprofessional, and that the two entities should be above such behaviour. Note you never have a manager get sacked by a club and the club statement to say ''the manager was terrible, has ruined our chances for the next season or two'', instead it's more ''we thank [insert name] for his time at the club, and wish him the best in his future endeavours.'' They often don't mean it, but it's professionalism, sadly.
As for future bugbears, feel free to hunt my dad and myself down in the main stand of a matchday for a cup of oxo and a rant, My growing annoyance at the moment is the poorly parked cars on matchdays meaning less can pay the club to park on the stadium ground! A small issue, but one that winds me up for certain!

Shows how massively ineffective Steve Carley was in his tenure here after the sterling work by the late Tony Moore I thought Steve was a very good reporter personally. I cannot say I can recall the last time we were front page (maybe Coventry, but don't I have no clue), but his match reports were almost always fair, and I think he even won a journalism report one year for his writings on us. He's certainly improved at the match commentaries on radio too - I wasn't so keen at the start of the year.

Right, I think I follow, thanks! The article has certainly gathered a good number of comments, so well done for that! I believe if we are to try and apply some pressure on the council to make them take a decision, as has been suggested. articles in the paper and write ups from ourselves in the 'letters' section might be a logical step. Dead right but this can't just be a one off. This needs to stay in the public domain continually until the local elections in May. Thousands at Coventry, Scunthorpe and SUFC- need to be vocal in support to get city home. Then politicians might actually listen. Or not! I'll certainly get around to writing a letter into the paper in the next day or two, hopefully others can follow suit! As you pointed out, local elections in May means it's a good time to make the politicians worry about upsetting a group of several thousand voters. I for one will guarantee my vote to the most vocally pro - city candidate in my area... seeing as I don't much see what city councillors do. Perhaps someone who has a bit more confidence in their on the ball thinking and voice then myself would be willing to phone into Hereford & Worcester, I'm sure Trevor Owens would be more then willing to have a supporter or two on. I feel we should give a load a credit to Geoff at the paper, he's put up a fair few articles recently and we've had a front page story. Thank you Mr Berkeley! Keep up the good work I say. EDIT: You beat me to the praise!!

Will wait and see. He's a player with good prospects, and with the lack of depth in our midfield, I'd have thought he'd get a chance in the squad on a regular basis.

I suspect unlike most who would be willing to give to the club, should they become a shock millionaire, I have age on my side being 22... That said, my idea of half time oranges is a Jaffa cake or two!! Who in their right mind wouldn't insist that they get to play a game though? Even if its in a friendly!

let's hope that £33M lottery winner from Worcester is a City Fan! I was just saying that with my dad! (cue the typical 'if only' story) I said if I won, I'd happily pay for the stadium, and pay off all share holders to give their shares to the trust (and lines the pockets of those who have put money in the club a bit)... all on the condition that I get to play a few games up front!

you have to admit that as Captain he was never vocal on the pitch. You're right, Ellis wasn't vocal on the pitch, but I find for the large part, our captains of past haven't been that vocal. I remember getting annoyed at Rob Elvins when he was our captain, thinking he didn't take command enough, then last season when he captained Solihull Moors against us, he barked orders constantly, and really commanded his team - it was like a different player. He shortly after rejoined us and although not captain, he looked quiet, and didn't communicate as much as I'd like with his team mates. Perhaps it's something our management don't like - a loud, sergeant for captain. Does anyone know if we have a vice captain? I assume Jacko was vice before now as he took the armband.

Don't forget Kyle Haynes who left after 1 game because he didn't get enough game time...
Edit: Michael Taylor doesn't seem too happy about it on twitter. You might have to decipher some youthful slang however.

If it really is a sinking ship, surely we as fans should be trying to plug the holes and bailing water out until our new shipmates arrive. Analogy aside, it's looking a tough time for the club, but we surely need to try and be the 12th man now more then ever. We have 3 central midfielders in the squad, assuming we include Dean Waldron. We need to try and encourage them, as well as the rest of the squad for us to get some points on the board.

Jacko as captain is brilliant in my eyes. As someone described on here earlier in the season, ''if he was a dog he'd be a terrier''. Not often a club has a captain from the clubs town/city... or at least the city they're meant to be in!

A good article in the paper: www.worcesternews.co.uk/sport/14218570.Save_Worcester_City_Football_Club__urges_supporters____trust_secretary_Rob_Crean/Rob, you came over very well as usual. One thing I have a question about: The quote from Alan Coleman at the end, ''“The city council has worked through the issues they raised with the trust, and is now waiting for the trust to submit revised proposals as part of the same planning application which will overcome these objections.'' Does this mean the current application has been rejected, and we'll all have to write into the portal again in our support of the new application? Not a problem if so, just feel it'd be good to know!

Thank you to Ellis for you years of service, for several seasons you have been a shining light, helping us get through moving out of the lane, and certainly contributing to fa cup runs!
I've been a critic for a while now, because we have seen Deeney be an amazing player, but more recently he has been in poor form. Id like to have seen Ellis stay with us, but probably not as a captain.
Now for the club, its time for us to look for a new captain who can inject some much needed passion onto the pitch, and a new centre mid is certainly needed. A permanent signing for certain!

It's good to hear that the ST and Board are still co-operating with the council and trying to keep any momentum going. I think perhaps some people get into the 'nothing is going on' feeling because unless you're one of the ones actively involved, you don't hear much... on here or at the matches.
I'd like to think that a march on the guild hall would be effective, but knowing our luck, we'd probably choose a wet, windy day where everyone is busy ironing their underwear. The club and ST would have to throw so much time and energy at it to have any noticeable number turn up. It seems a bit of a sticky situation.

What I was trying to give over, is that I think we started the season poorly, in part because there were a few players who weren't up to it. This in my opinion dropped morale and confidence within the players who stayed. Sean was brilliant last season, never got going this season. I don't think it's his fault, but I think we were right to move him on. We do need a replacement attacking centre mid to replace him though... you might recall just before Sean left and there was speculation, I said that if he moved on, we need to sign someone to replace him.
I agree, too many short term loan players at the moment - even if I like what I've seen of 3/4 short terms, and Ethan Ross looks decent as the 5th... but it is too much. I'm not sure if the poor early season signings perhaps meant the budget has been eaten up, and as a result we're having to push the loan signings as much as possible.
Personally, I'd try and play some of our young players to cover injuries, rather then short term loans. Jamie Smith is a brilliant player and Dean Waldron should be given a chance - his height in the middle will be appreciated.

Surely the bottom line is that this process has become undemocratic? If there is a case to have, or not have, a new stadium at Perdiswell, then it should be debated and objections/endorsements heard. Just sweeping it under the carpet like this is a disgrace. You've probably summed it up better then the rest of us have. We can talk about political parties being for or against us, or how we should be doing more, at the end of the day that's all irrelevant. It is looking undemocratic, certainly.

We can't say too much, look what we've done with signings this season Minihan, Burton, Hughes, Gudger and Sharpe. All signed for the city, all good players. We made a few bad signings at the start of the season and have struggled to deal with the consequences since.

This did make me chuckle! I don't think Lloyd Weston was poor though, not amazing, but he would have been alright. Spent too much time outside his box for my liking, and needed to communicate more. Other then that, not a bad man to have between the sticks. Still, we don't need him.

What keeper issues? Vaughan is a solid keeper at this level, Ethan Ross has looked like he will go on to bigger and better things, sadly just had one bad game as all players do. We even have Wayne Thomas who need I remind you has a 100% clean sheet record.

I think a 4 for Ross wasn't fair, a 6 perhaps as his distribution wasn't great... but largely the rest of the ratings are about right.
The people around me were saying ''We didn't deserve a point'' so to say that if the own goal didn't happen, then we'd be saying how we should have won is questionable. We were on the back foot for probably 60 minutes of the game.
As for one moment changing everything - you're right. Many have agreed during the match and on here, that this was a must win game, and we had to get a couple of goals in. Neither happened. With the BPA game being postponed, we're now in for another tough few games. These are our next 5 games:
Fylde away (4th), North Ferriby home (2nd), Alfreton home (13th), Chorely away (9th) then Nuneaton away (5th) That's arguably 4 teams chasing play-offs or better, as Chorley have games in hand to those above them.
How many points do you think we'll get? I can see a result against Alfreton if we're lucky, and maybe a point or three against Chorely, again if we're lucky. It's a tough bunch of games to have, especially when the team isn't firing on all cylinders.

In comparrison to the ref we had for the Gloucester game, she was like Howard Webb.
She was fine, could have been more strict, but that's it. At least she wasn't too one sided.
