Lee - don't let Brooksider put you off. If you are able to use your skills and knowledge to help the club then both Facebook and Twitter are worth pursuing. All I would say is that if you are doing it on behalf of the club be sensible with what you post or tweet - just a case of using common sense really.

I think Cartwright was booked as well. We didn't deserve anything and credit to Gloucester for the way they played - they chased and pressed. James D clearly at fault for one goal and maybe two, but the real failing was in our defending as a unit. There was still a chance to clear after he spilled the ball, for the second the ball worked its way across goal really easily and for the third we committed too many forward for the corner. I don't think JD has lost confidence but like most of his colleagues he didn't have a good game.

The following paragraph in the report is not without significance:
8.21 The City Council has also taken expert advice from KPMG in respect of the financial appraisal. However, at the time of preparing this report the appraisal had not been received. I am therefore unable to comment on this aspect of the proposals further at this stage. However, the findings of the report will be reported to members via a late paper and subject to the conclusions I may need to amend my recommendation accordingly.

The first ground, Severn Terrace, was approximately where the Swan Theatre is now. I wish I could find a photo of it, but so far no luck.
Thorneloe was most likely one of the fields near the bottom of Barbourne Crescent. The ground could have been at Stephenson Terrace, I don't know for sure, but if so then why call it Thorneloe? Thorneloe House is at the bottom of Barbourne Terrace, so my guess it was near to there.

It's worth pointing out that journalists are by far the biggest users of Twitter. They must follow hundreds of local people hoping to find news stories. Lee clearly had little idea as to how social media works, let alone how certain journalists work, maybe he has a better idea now.
In my view the WN have let themselves down by making this a story at all, let alone their front page. In the current climate you would hope that they would want to support our club.
I agree with what many here have said already - to imply that these remarks make Lee a racist is one giant leap and I'm glad that other City fans have seen it as such.

Just in case anyone is wondering, the event at the Countryside Centre was a consultation roadshow for the South Worcestershire Development Plan, so nothing in particular to do with Nunnery Way and, if you had gone, it is unlikely that any planners there would have been able to engage you in discussion about Nunnery Way. You can find out about the SWDP at www.swdevelopmentplan.org if you feel so inclined.

The Official History book is indeed the place to start. But if cityslicker or auldreekie would like to PM me I can help with more information on Jimmy Brown or John Inglis. However what auldreekie has said about Jimmy Inglis is about as much as I know. I suspect the main reason he came to Worcester was money!

I would imagine there will be a few more changes in personnel over the next few weeks as the Club was I'm sure budgeting in expectation of some FA Cup success and clearly that income isn't now going to be forthcoming.
But to say it's another step towards the demise of WCFC is ridiculous. Twelve months ago we beat Boston away, which was a great result. Today's was a shockingly bad result, and the moaners have every right to moan, but this is about players and how they perform...or don't as the case may be. Altrincham was the wake-up call, Carl thought individuals would have learned lessons from that but apparently not.

Kieran came forward and volunteered to do something for the Club at a time at a time when WCFC really needed all the friends it could get. Some people who contribute here knew him better than I did, equally some City fans won't have known him at all. But what I do know is that, like so many volunteers, Kieran probably spent far more hours working behind the scenes than we appreciate, add to that the time he spent travelling to and from games and that's a huge amount of dedication.
Kieran was probably around the same age as myself and many others who have posted here, that's what makes this news all the more sad.

I guess anyone who saw their team miss out on a win after conceding a last-minute equaliser will be a bit p***** off. And how many of us would want to be a referee, whether at this level or any other? But the fact that Nuneaton fans are moaning about Mike Symons is great because to my mind that just goes to show how well he's playing for us right now. Danny Glover did a decent job for us last season, I think it was the manner of his departure that left some ill feeling but let's face it, we've moved on, as results and performances demonstrate I think.

Videos - probably about 20 plus on YouTube - mostly match action from the last 2 - 3 seasons. Older footage does exist - someone has recently posted clips from old Bromsgrove games from the early nineties - brilliant stuff including 2 awful City performances there in 90/91. A good video archive (all sorts of stuff): www.macearchive.org/Photos - you can do an internet search and find some recent images, an archive would be possible to set up with time and resources. Go to: tangerinetommy.webs.com/to see what can be done. If I had a lot of time on my hands I would do the same! Most archive photos were taken by the Worcester News so consent to reproduce on the net would probably be needed.

I can't recall a City first team game where 11 goals were scored (excluding penalty shoot-outs) since we beat Oswestry 12-2 in 1976. Rob and a few others can at least say "I was there" (at Bridgnorth, that is) even if it was only a friendly!

Dear all - it's a wind up. Sometimes people say any old rubbish, if they say it loud enough and often enough, people might start to believe it's true. This is especially true of politicians, e.g. "it's all the fault of the last government" and "we're all in this together."
Incidentally, who's Roger, jcp?

The intention was to have a home kit that is predominantly blue, rather than blue and white. Those of you who think it's boring should go and take a look in the Club Shop at the next home game, you might change your mind when you see it in the flesh, so to speak.
The idea behind using green for the away kit was to have a colour that wouldn't require use of a third kit - only Blyth in BSN wear green.
It was mentioned on Saturday that home is Rangers, away is Celtic!
Incidentally, we had an all blue kit in the mid seventies, so it's not entirely new. The home socks will be white with blue hoops I think.
And personally I really like both designs!

This is great news, especially to have it all sorted well before the end of the current season. Yes, I think Tom has one year left at uni, he could play at a higher level than BSN and we're lucky to have him for another 12 months. I think that shows that Carl has generated a good team spirit and loyalty amongst his current squad.

So maybe I didn't get it wrong! We drew the re-arranged game at the start of the next season 3-3, which meant Sutton won 5-4 on aggregate.

Not disputing the point that Verner has been making, but the Senior Cup Final against Sutton that got abandoned was in 2004, we were winning 1-0 at the time, not 3-0, and Mark Owen didn't break his ribs on the Brookside gate in that match - it happened later the same year in a Conference Cup game v Stafford. I don't think we had to compensate Sutton for that game either - it was abandoned part way through - but Verner might be thinking of the second time we tried to play the game, a few days later, when the match was called off before kick-off due to another downpour.

I think we'd all agree TT and Kevin O'Connor especially have been great signings and I very much hope we keep them both for next season. I can appreciate that Tom will eventually move on as he looks to develop his football career but if he's still got at least another year at the University then hopefully he'll be able to commit himself until he finishes there.

Those of you who buy City News will know that I've been running a feature all this season called 21st Century Boys, looking back at every player that's appeared for us since 2000. Where possible I've tried to include some information on where they went to after leaving us.
Graham joined Hednesford Town briefly, then Halesowen Town as assistant manager to Martin O'Connor, a former Birmingham City team mate. In October 2007 he signed for Fleet Town, managed by former Sheffield Wednesday colleague Andy Sinton, but I believe he hung up his boots at the end of the 2007/08 season. I'm not aware that he's been involved anywhere else since.

On 10 August Jim Panter was quoted as saying in the Worcester News: “The anticipation is that a planning application will be going in within the next two to three weeks."
That anticipated timescale has already slipped, do we know why? I presume something "unexpected" must have cropped up if St Modwen thought they were that close less than a month ago.
These "jam tomorrow" promises can't continue much longer, the clock is ticking, and even when the application is submitted it could be weeks, maybe months, before it gets to Committee.
Now that the article has appeared in the programme it would be helpful if it could be published on the WCFC website for all to read.

We had a good number of parents with children at the game today, and a fair few came into the Club Shop to buy their child a replica shirt - they are now reduced to £5 for children's sizes. Many thanks to all who came into the Shop today.
I know that many attractions admit children under 5 for free, I don't think our pricing policy makes this concession, it may be something to consider for the future.
