Poor performance. But we battled until the very end and so deserved a point.

It wasn't great. We really missed Cartwright at the back today. It feels like we have won though with an injury time goal. Rightfully deserved as we had such a huge proportion of possession in the second half. Great team spirit to keep on battling until the end. Symmo MOTM I think.

I have to say I am amazed Karl took so long to make changes, Symons, Rowe and Taylor were excellent. The rest were poor to extremely poor. Thankfully Glover and Wardy were also poor. What was all that kerfuffle at the end? I have to say the only Nuneaton players I noticed where 11 and 3, the rest were fairly mundane.
Dormand made a fantastic save at the end, he seemed very assured in his goal.

thought Elvins looked a threat until he moved into the middle when Emeka went off and Taylor came on. Thorley was awful today probably suffering from all the travelling but his delivery was woeful, certainly missed Cartwright for set pieces. Again we showed a so called 'favourite for the league' that we are not a rollover.

Some very strange refereeing decisions going on there. Delivery from crosses was really lacking today, Asa Charlton's delivery in particular was appauling.
Danny Glover was a horrible little s*** when he played for us - and he still is. It's always nice when opposition fans get cocky only to be shut up good and proper in injury time.
A well deserved point.

Recently all our goals seem a bit more dramatic. Halifax, Eastwood, Nuneaton. I ended up running round like a headless chicken when the ball hit the back of the net. A few randomers got a hug in and amongst the celebrations. Im loving all the games this year. Roll on promotion!

Oh and I wish Lee Ayres would stop just hoofing the ball forwards, resulting in us losing possession and the oppo coming straight back at us.

Over on the Nuneaton forum, they seem to be blaming the ref for not winning the game - does that sound familiar Everyone, and I mean our supporters and supporters of other teams in this league need to wake up and realise that most of the referees at this level are poor and often make bad decisions. Over the course of a season there will probably be as many poor decisions go your way as go against you so just grow up and deal with it. So another one of the 'favourites' come to the Lane and fail to win because lowly Worcester City did not roll over for them. I hope we are a thorn in the side of many other 'favourites' this season. As for todays performance, I thought we were poor in the first half but our second half performance brought us a deserved point. Tom Thorley had a mare today in my opinion but man of the match for us was Mike Symmons. I don't think he lost the ball once, no matter how many defenders were trying to get the ball off him - excellent. Thought the 947 attandance was pretty good too. UTC

Didn't see the equaliser as my 93 year old Mother chose that very moment to fall down on the concrete, breaking her glasses and cutting her head. (She is OK and recovering at home after a visit to A&E). I gather it was Michael Taylor, who looked a real handful when he came on. I don't think Carl should have played Thorley: the lad's played six or seven games in ten days and must have been jetlagged, but then again he may have had no options due to injury.
Where was Luke Corbett? He didn't even make the bench.
I didn't see the kerfuffle afterwards either, because I was still staunching Mother's wound, but someone said Glover threw a punch at Carl even before the final whistle, which started it all off.
I agree about Simmo: he was awesome today again, with not much help from the referee either. Nuneaton were no league winners for me - I honestly thought Vauxhall Motors were a better side.

Tim I'm glad your mum is doing fine, what a couple of minutes it was, first we scored, then wilkin and one of our fans decided to have a verbal and nearly physical fight, then I was told your mum needed first aid assistance and then whilst calling for the ambulance it all kicked off on the pitch.......very busy few minutes !!
Got to love football fans at this level, Nuneaton fans are blaming the referee for not taking all 3 points, he was pants for both teams, he gave a free kick to us even though Symo had gone clear, he was a scouser mind.
Also had a look at Nuneaton Forum and they say they think our number nine (9) is the biggest pr*ck they've played against so far this season............that would be mainly because he bossed Graham Ward all game and then bullied the other defenders every time the ball went in the air or he had it at his feet.
Danny Glover was pants all game and he couldn't handle our defenders knocking him about.
If we've come up against favorites for the league twice already in this bunch and Halifax then we are in for a good season, Halifax haven't won since they played us, although they probably had a bad referee and Nuneaton are not the team they have been over recent seasons.
I think had we of had Cartwright, Edwards, Brown or Corbett today then we may well of taken all the points, but I'm a happy blue being unbeaten in 5, bring on Corby.

I am often "critisised" for my sympathy towards referees, as I understand how difficult there job is (I have done it myself), how subjective some decisions are, everyone makes mistakes and fact fans see decisions from one way only.
However, today I can no sympathy towards the referee. He seemed to do fine for the first 70 minutes (okay, perhaps bookings were debatable), but he seemed to lose it over the last 20 mins, which I believe was co-incidental with the constant advice he was getting from you horrible Number 9.
For the last 20 minutes any physical contact was punished by a foul. Two incidents immediatly in front of me (opposite from stand) were laughable.
However two challenges on Boro keeper, leading to equaliser went unpunished. I am not saying they were, or were not a foul (keepers get too much protection), but given for previous 20 all physical contact was penalised you can see why people disgruntled.
Could you also explain the booking of your number nine. a) A foul is called. b) Suddenly a ruck starts (rumour is he stamped on Boro player). c) yes, a Boro player does raise a foot in his direction (I dont claim Boro players are angels) d) He goes down clutching his face (ala Joey Barton). When he went down, no boro players within yards, but only Worcester players holding him off........I suspect any contact was accidental from own player. e) He eventually gets up, notices shirt is torn, and points this out to referee. f) He gets booked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. What for, other than being a bid, dirty, feeble s***.
On play, Worcester probably deserved a draw, but a Boro win would not have been robbery. However, the performance of the referree (as previous comment backed up) did leave a bad taste in mouth.

On play a Worcester victory wouldn't have been robbery either. Not a classic game but 1 1 was about right. Refs are sht, life is sht- get over it. Handbags at the end was forgotten after the game, as it should be. You'll be there or there abouts at the end of the season but please don't come whinging on our forum if you think things haven't gone your way, frankly I don't care.

Totally agree, Creaner.
The game also showed how little we miss Glover. His attitude towards the end of last season showed that he is lazy, selfish and disloyal and will never make it at a higher level with that approach.
Thought it was a bit harsh that some of our fans got on Wardy's back though. He never gave us less than 100% and seems to have left because he wasn't offered a contract, which he's every right to do.

I guess anyone who saw their team miss out on a win after conceding a last-minute equaliser will be a bit p***** off. And how many of us would want to be a referee, whether at this level or any other? But the fact that Nuneaton fans are moaning about Mike Symons is great because to my mind that just goes to show how well he's playing for us right now. Danny Glover did a decent job for us last season, I think it was the manner of his departure that left some ill feeling but let's face it, we've moved on, as results and performances demonstrate I think.

agree with jupu 100% - if oppo fans and players alike are getting uptight about our players, it means he's a thorn in their side, which is perfect! I remember being told by some players at an opposition team once that they were going to break Dans legs in a semi-final - what a compliment! and we won the game We've missed that bit of toughness in our team over the last few seasons, and having a couple of nigglers takes the pressure off the playmakers. Wychbold had a lad in our team called Charlie Driscoll, he had the ability to stop oppo players playing with his clever verbals, and he could hold his own physically too, you don't have to have 11 nice boys playing sexy football, especially in non-league! I like what Carl is doing this season, and its all about good man-management. As far as refs are concerned, there's a massive shortage of refs, so any refs who are any good at our level are being promoted up to fill voids above, so we get whats left over. But I don't agree with this stuff about it levelling itself out over a season. After all, a bad decision on the last day of the season which leads to a team being relegated hardly offsets a decision in their favour in the first few games of the season! Was segregation really needed?

NO.Having spoke to some of the Nuneaton Officials yesterday they told me they had a handful of non supporters coursing the problems at home games which they have now sorted out. The segregation was forced on us with the early K/O by the police and others with so called intelligence they had. I still don't know what it was but it cost the club in loss of income to both the bar and in attendance and we had to bring in six extra stewards for the day. When are those agency going to realize this is WCFC not Man Utd or Chelsea.

I cannot see any problem with it being segregated unless it cost the club money. The only ones put out where the ones who stand behind the goal and change ends. I always thought the Nuneaton fans were a friendly lot, but then, I thought Northwich was posh until their fans came to SGL.

Its the whole concept of segregation at tinpot football matches. We don't even play at the highest level of non-league football. We're talking numbers of people that represent a tiny gathering, less than 1,000. Of that 1,000, 990 go to games every week without being segregated. So we are bringing in segregation just in case the wrong 10 people are at the ground. There is also the perception aspect, and this is twofold. Firstly, once your club is a "segregation" club, it will attract the wrong people from other clubs, and then you're on a spiral of segregation every game. Secondly, the community becomes aware of segregation, people of Worcester and surrounding areas get the idea that if you go to SGL there's going to be trouble! (Unlike at Sixways) So it doesnt promote the community aspect, in fact it acts as a negative. As Colin says, this cost the company revenue, and thats bad news.

Well no not really Telford segregate every home game, their crowds seem to be a lot higher than most in the conference prem.
You see people don't think things through !! Telford a few seasons back cost us BIG money, we were instructed by the safety advisory group that we must put something in place to search all fans entering St Georges Lane, that something happened to be 2x Doormen at £60 each per game. I think it last around 10 games.
To be honest I was asked to do certain things for this fixture which could of cost us more !! If I didn't segregate this match the game WOULD of been Policed. I was also told to maybe use Doormen for this game although against the odds I pulled in a favour from Kiddy and had 6 of their stewards in which most probably saved around £100.
Then you must remember that Nuneaton have ALL home games Policed now and I know for a fact the trouble gang which ranges from as little in number as 50 to as high of 120 had ear marked us as a potential fixture/ground to come to, they were also stopped from travelling to Nuneaton's previous fixture against Boston.
All in all if all people are moaning about is the fact we spent £100 in extra Stewarding and we had no incidents apart from the odd gobby idiot then I'm pretty sure we made that money back on the day with programme selling, refreshment selling etc etc so jobs a good un, forget about it and move on...!

All due respect as Safety Officer my neck is first on the line if something goes wrong, and it's me who faces the music and dances with the local authorities when it does.
So as I say above jobs a good un...let's move on because let's be honest it's the only game we will segregate this season unless we have a big team in FA Cup so the matters closed in my mind until next season.

Afraid not, all liability and responsibility lies with the Board of Directors. WCFC Ltd. is no different to any other limited company. Only the Board are aware of the impact on the management accounts, unless you've been given P&L responsibilities.
