Malvern game is sold out. Just checked. Had Saturday off work and was looking to catch a game.
Shame it took me reading a post on this unofficial forum to read they were selling tickets.

And good to see the Sorcerers, and American Sports represented further - as American Football has been played in the city for around about a decade with the Univeristy team (the Royals) and the Senior side (the Black Knights)

Itās quite clear on the order page on the site:
To support our return back to Worcester, we are adding a commemorative "Brick Wall" at the Claines Lane Ground. The Wall will be made of a dibond material (same as the advertising boards) and situated in a prominent position in the ground. You will be able to add a name / brief message on two lines, so could be used as a memorial or celebration.

Theyāre no better than Red Bull FC (Salzburg, Leipzig or New York) - a corporate plaything with no history - alienating the local fans.
cf. Austria Salzburg, the whole Bundesliga, New York/New Jersey Metrostars

Looks like it was a full takeover judging by the article in the press:
āThe Bond Group owned by Jason Whittingham and Colin Goldring have agreed a takeover of our club with Worcester Raiders retaining a percentage shareholding of the club.ā
No doubt a change of name, colours and branding to follow

ā The kids who fool around at school, despise others who do work, but then want the same lifestyle, well they make me sickā
Wouldnāt that cover about 95% of professional footballers today?

Greenland cannot join the FIFA because not enough grass grows for a football field.

I note that PPP have issued a āstatementā on their Facebook page:
āHi everyone. Itās been suggested by a few antagonists that PPP might say something about the proposal for a hockey centre on Droitwich Road that funding has been secured for and to which the Council have given considerable support. Pending planning permission, this would be built on the field roughly opposite Blooms and neighbouring football pitch. As when the new swimming pool was built, I offered PPP members the chance to shout if you wanted to object. One person did, as I recall. The view was assumed to be that in most local peopleās minds, this did not compare with a football stadium being built on playing fields. So we left it at that. So, to all of you people reading this I will again offer the chance to make the hockey centre an issue we pick up. Does anyone object to this proposal?
If the answer is no, I will, on behalf of me alone and not PPP, suggest the reasons why are as follows: - it is not being built on a much appreciated public open space - it is not being built on a problematic road - a school and university are behind it - it is not attracting large enough numbers regularly to disrupt a neighbourhood - it is unlikely to spill traffic over in to neighbouring estates - it is a plan to support a thriving sport not a failing club (as it was then, at least). - it won't ruin a nice view Yes, it is partly on an existing and used playing field ā but the provision of two pitches in its place (as opposed to one pitch and a not-for-public-use stadium) makes me think āfair enoughā.
Iām wondering if the University and RGS approached ever had talks with the Supporters Trust or Worcester City FC?
Cheers, Jasonā

I feel sorry for the members and players of Droitwich Spa Eagles who kept the pitches there in use and good order when they were being neglected until a few years ago - who will now find themselves homeless and without a venue to play at.
They also say they first found out about this as a result of the newspaper report.
And the Chairman of the Committee that approved this (the Policy and Resources Committee)...
...Green Councillor - Louis Stephen.

Great to see big mouth Gareth Jones has lost his seat in St Stephens! Not sure what the new Green is like though?? Her leaflet said, that she along with the other greens are anti Perdiswell, but yes nice to see Gareth has lost his seat, the Tories might find a "safe seat" somewhere for him if someone steps down. Also with no Tory in the ward there is no one to protect , that could be a blessing in disguise. Iām working on this for next year - donāt worry...

It definitely gave me a greater interest and insight into politics that I never had before.
The day we had the count for the locals - to see Jones having a public heart attack and demanding recounts when it was close between him and the Green with us lower orders having a slight influence was superb.

I tried this back a few years ago. Plenty of initial interest - but when it actually came down to it - I was the only one who actually ran, in St Stephen against the bullfrog in an ill fitting suit called Gareth Jones.
