I was there right behind the goal (in my red hat if you can see me) It wasnt a penalty as the player totally conned the ref by diving, bit like the Coventry penalty was dodgy...and then the penalty and save was a mirror image of the one Vaughny saved from Reda Johnson! Albeit one was to the left and the other the right! I was telling the Bromsgrove fans round me not to worry and trust in Vaughny to save it and they were high fiving and hugging me right after, he'll be a legend now with them for it and it was his first game for em, top stuff! Hope they go all the way but South Shields look really good, watched the highlights of their goals for their quarter final, some top drawer finishes that are worthy of a few steps higher than theyre currently at. Graham Fenton is their coach though so he's obviously a massive influence on them.

Hmmm, a Kiddy fans perspective on it.. www.harriers-online.co.uk/season16-17/reports16-17/worc_a_26-12-16.shtmlInteresting reading about the 'flares incident' and they tried ushering up the culprit/s to the stewards/police but they werent fussed about it. Tactically we got it right against them, counter attack is the best policy, unless you can keep a constant press on them. Chekaine Steele was fantastic in his tracking back and doing the disciplined stuff that limited the space they had, it kept their dangermen who like to run with the ball in towards the edge of the 18 yard box which is their favourite trick quiet.

Bakayoko started and scored the opening goal tonight up at Sheffield United which proved to be the winner as they clung on to hold it, the Blades missed a late penalty and had a dominant shot count 20-3,but Bakayoko killed their unbeaten 15 game run in the league.

I just hope he can cross a ball, how many pacy wingers did we see at SGL who flew down the wing, and then endangered lives in the flats behind the goal from their crosses. Best crossers of a ball from the wing I've seen were Adam Wilde and the mercurial Jon Purdie, and neither had lightning pace. We had Dan Polan at City a few years back and he was Worcester Schools 100m champion every year, which was why my lad switched to 200m! Best crosser I can remember was Bobby Shinton. Didn't have much pace by the time he played for us, but what a left foot he had. Tommy Daly was pretty decent...just used to put his head down, bomb down the wing and pretty much every cross was perfect into the box (the occasional one did let him down because he had a knee defect of some sort) a couple more players to hopefully add to the mix for this season.. Chambers and what happened with Partodikromo as he seemed promising but then the trail seems to have run cold with him, perhaps he's had trials elsewhere?

I also learnt tonight that our manager appears to be backing the board now rather than the trust...... Why ??
Because he knows something we dont!!
Possibly another example of no transparency then ?? Well yes on the face of it, and unfortunately due to the rifts its causing.... Carl is privvy to whats going on behind the scenes and he runs his own business so my shrewd bet is he doing something to keep the club afloat whilst the ground proposal dilemmas rumble on. Didnt he say not so long ago in a rousing speech he did 'I will not rest till I bring Worcester City back home to Worcester' or words to that effect?? He certainly isnt part of some conspiracy to strip the club of its remaining pennies, he bleeds blue and white for us and almost certainly couldve taken on other jobs elsewhere managing clubs who have been admiring the work he's done keeping us at National North status under the current constrictions.

How about something like... HOME IS WHERE THE (HEART/CITY)IS The HEART/CITY bit could be a heart outline shape with the City badge in the middle of it! If i could rustle up something on whatever paintshop app it is people use these days i would try but i'm no good at that kinda thing..i'm ok at painting vivid pictures and imagining things in my mind and head though!

...And in a strange quirk of fate the 4th round draw... If (only a teeny weeny leetle 'if' ) we'd overcome Sheff Utd, then Oldham and Man U we would be playing Derby away. Last year...had we won the shootout vs Scunny, then we'd have faced Chesterfield who ended up playing at...Derby!! Maybe next year..3rd time lucky and we get that lucrative tie at Derby!

Gateshead away was a 'magic trip' and the performance took the hardcore 132 loyal City fans back to the wondrous moments of last seasons run. I'd say that was also the last time we saw Geddes really buzzing in the blue and white stripes and that usually meant the rest of the team would perk up around him..i'll certainly miss him, a part of me hopes the door might be open for a return still (if Danny Glover managed to wangle a return then surely Sean would!!!!!).

Waldron saturday...Smith tonight Teams appear to want to dish it out to us this season and the refs havent been doing their jobs properly...partly explains some of our petulant reactions and red cards in response to the poor officiating. Which isnt clever obviously but can understand some of them.

Has Geddes got another game to go yet before he's back?? Pheww...sounded like one of those scrappily hashed up goals but the finish was decent! Their trip was worth it then on a night like this..brilliant for the lad too. Now lets finish the job off.

Awesome...makes a change for us to actually be the team who's adapted to the conditions the best!! Mind you, we had some practice in the wind at Gateshead in the Cup and looked good.
Could do with a 2nd goal just to at least make things feel more comfortable tho, they might find it easier playing the 2nd half going the way we were so it could be more backs to the wall jobs for 45 minutes.

I hope not.. He was playing in a very unsettled side that was being chopped and changed from week to week and was played out of position in defence a couple of times as well as i recall...stick him in the middle of the midfield now things have settled and he's got Hughes and Burton to feed off and i reckon he'd be fab!

I've certainly never seen the figures for George and Grahams transfers, other than being 10k+, so Barton is probably still our record transfer, would have thought they'd have made a song and dance about it otherwise. On recent history, we surely look like a good stepping stone for players with good prospects. Although there are always exceptions to the rule, most players who shoot up the leagues are 18-22 in age, presumably because then they still have a few years to develop at a full time club. Deeney is 24, Nti is 24 (I think), and Geddes is 23, so maybe their chances are not there so much? I think the player with the best chances of moving up the leagues at the club currently is probably Dean Waldron, but he certainly needs more game time. we've got George Nash still hidden away somewhere, he was being looked at by Bristol City scouts during pre-season!!

Hmm fair point as it wouldve been a tricky selection, but then if Geddes and Hughes were available it wouldve been even trickier! But the extra options wouldve been better. If Symmo had been there..then i wouldve gone 4-4-1-1 with him up top and Burton tucked in behind, probably at the expense of Gater with Nti and Vincent down the flanks, Deeney and Jackman keeping it solid in the middle.

Could he have done us a job at Sheffield Utd does anyone reckon? Just the basic big man hold the ball up with his back to goal allowing the nippier players to come in from deep and pose a threat that way.. I think Deon Burton mightve got a bit more change out of them that way as well.
