I just got the shock of my life walking back from Shrub Hill station tonight past midnight to home which is on the Ombersley Road....I was in the company of another lad who'd been to watch Birmingham at QPR (I'd been upto watch Forest play) and we were talking about football and Worcester City with the plight of the ground etc and just as we were crossing over St Georges Lane through Barbourne along the main road we got the shock of our lives to see The Old Girls floodlights majestically beaming away....I said to him 'am I seeing things or dreaming all this?'...naturally we then legged it down to see what/how it was possible this miracle was occurring! The gates were all still locked up and the boarded up bit was all still secure so we went right round the sides of the ground by the canal and flats end looking through the gaps and holes...not a soul in sight or sound to be heard except the steady hum of the lights!!! As I write this now they are still on at 230am...the Old Girl still has life in her yet it seems!!!

altrincham?? Prob gone too far north now haha! How many away games all told at a rough estimate then do you reckon?? I think the most bizarre away ground i watched us at was when we played Highgate Utd away in the B'ham snr cup early 90s...pretty much an open field with just a rail round and some ricketty old bus shelter of a stand...i remember gettin Des Lyttles and Ally Robertsons autographs after it and they made my autograph book all muddy haha!

the gallows humour is coming out...must be all that ropey stuff being handed out! Interesting about old grounds and attendances because it seems a lot of people are now reminiscing about the good old days of football...i think away from the big 4 who're monopolizing things football has lost touch with the fans with hiked prices etc!

It must be Watling Street home of Maidstone Utd and also Dartford in later years before both went for a Burton....one of Dartfords last games was at the City back in the mid 90s and it was delayed due to bad fog!!

severn view terrace wasn't it? Its those fields that are at the back of Britannia Sq at the side of the RaceCourse..the AO were using one for hockey/lacrosse and the other was just overgrown brambles..no space for a football ground there now plus the access is horrendous with narrow roads and lots of cars already parked on the streets surrounding anyway!
