AFC Worcester might be a bit obvious for a new club name. What others could be used?
Real Worcester; Worcester Phoenix; Worcester II; Son of Worcester; Worcester City Final Tour; New Worcester FC; Boddyville Utd?

I would go for Worcester City A F C, we would still be known as "City" and remain in the same place alphabetically.
Aren't we jumping the gun here? Or is this happening sooner than we think?

We are jumping the gun here, the Board have reassured shareholders that they will not be seeking voluntary relegation, and they won't be reforming. At least that's what we as shareholders have to read into their silence. If there is no bad news, and no financial issues that shareholders need to be aware of, we can only assume that everything is fully under control. I feel reassured, as does every other shareholder.

Worcester Wanderers has some logic to it. Or maybe with the fans' bemusement regarding the activities of the board Worcester Wonderers might be more apt?

Hahaha, such a sense of humour Jem. What's even more funny is that some people will actually believe you mean this !

I was thinking the same. Waiting for someone to send a vitriolic response! I do think that it should happen, and sooner rather than later. If all the decent people got behind it there must be a chance of success particularly as those who are at least partly responsible for the mess wouldn't touch it with a barge pole (hopefully!). The current club is a total dead duck now.

This discussion reminds me of a scene from Hitch Hikers Guide where the committee for designing the wheel come back with the wrong shape for it because they're too concerned about what colour it should be.

I think that the communication coming out of the club has been very good so far. I'd like to thank Lee Hughes for letting us know what has been going on, without Lee saying what he did, we'd all still be completely in the dark

I'd like to thank Lee Hughes for letting us know what has been going on, without Lee saying what he did, we'd all still be completely in the dark Let's not forget John Snape, whose throwaway comments after the game Saturday ("there are plans... will be released soon" etc.) have been seized upon by the Worcester News as some major revelation. I actually feel utterly embarrassed on behalf of the Board. The way recent events have been handled makes me cringe - and I cannot begin understand why they have acted in such a way.

Sometimes you think that they are being so embarrassing that there must really be a deviously clever masterplan in the background. Trouble is, if there was a deviously clever masterplan, then we needed it at least 5 years ago! There ain't one now! Yes its nice to know that your stand in assistant manager is now the official mouthpiece for the football club. Doesn't that fill you with reassurance as a shareholder? No offence to Snapper, who has been put in this situation by the Board.

I've thought of a really apt name The Worcester Worriers.

The club was the founded after the merger of Berwick Rangers and Worcester Rovers. The name Berwick Rangers has been taken by another club so how about keeping a historical link by naming a new club 'Worcester Rovers'? As a permanent home ground is unlikely to be available immediately there might be a lot of roving going on in the early days.
If anyone fancies the no-democracy/quick-success model............................'Red Bull Worcester' ? ;-)

Apparently Billy Beane believes that he can bring Moneyball into football, I met him a couple of years ago, I have his number somewhere.

How about the Wychavon Hallmarks?
The crest could be a diseased albatross on top of a pile of burning paperwork - bit like a Phoenix perched on a bonfire...

I like that name Worcester St. George., but the bottom line is, where would the "new" Worcester play home games? And how far down the pyramid would the "new" Worcester start - Stage 6 - or even lower?

It'd be same Level as where Hereford FC reformed in the Midland League - Step 9.
It's the same level as the North West Counties Football League Premier Division (co-incidentally due to sponsorship it's known this season as the Hallmark Security League)

When I said step 6 - I meant just in non-league - the same level as NW Counties 1st division (where FC United had to start off) - note not the NWC Premier - which is the one above. The other factor in Herefords favour is they had a ground - we don't.
