BROMSGROVE Sporting chairman Jon Prescott played down speculation that Worcester City will groundshare at the Victoria Ground next season after the club installed new turnstiles. The improvements increased hopes that Bromsgrove's county neighbours will become tennants for the 2016-17 season.

Stadium Solutions @steel_pj · 3h3 hours ago On site at worcestercityfc tomorrow, fitting the new Turnstile Building we have manufactured #Turnstiles #GroundImprovements So what does this mean? Are we leaving Kiddy for Evesham or Bromsgrove? Perhaps anyone passing these two grounds might be able to find out some info. How much do WCFC currently pay KHFC a season (or per game) to play at Aggborough ? I think the City paid them about £50,000

The rain between 10am (when I arrived) and 12 (when the referee first inspected) was light but steady and the wind was helping at the time, you could see the pitch draining. The rain between 12.45 and 2pm changed and actually became very heavy. The referee inspected it once more and the decision was taken on the basis that it might start but with more heavy rain there was a chance it could become an abandonment. If you want some to blame....mother bloody nature ! The f'cast was for rain all day getting worst during the afternoons the pitch was never going to improve .Should have been called of sooner to stop the city fans from traveling .

The Aggborough groundsman has advised the Club that the pitch is playable this morning, so there is no requirement for an inspection at this stage. We will keep you informed if there are any changes in circumstance.

In my opinion, if there is a 'change of view' by the council then it can only be because they need to earmark Perdiswell for new Social/Affordable housing as 'directed' by the Conservative Party in their last years election Manifesto (200,000 new homes to be built across the country). Couple this with pressure on councils to sell off their existing housing stock and the sheer size of Perdiswell makes it very attractive indeed. As we know councillors are party political driven and can't necessarily think for themselves when it comes to major issues. If the nimbys are worried about traffic congestion and the odd bit of noise associated with a football stadium, wait until there are 500 or so houses and new roads developed. Dodger. This is the best argument we have in persuading the locals to back the stadium. They have to realise they may well have a massive housing estate on their doorstep if the stadium falls through. I am sure that the football club would pay the council £50,000/£60,000 a year the same amount as they do Kidderminster, so to turn down a possible offer like this, it could be there is something else in the pipe line

Ms Ramsey's predecessor as city council managing director, Duncan Sharkey, was actively pushing for the club to relocate to Perdiswell Park before his departure nine months ago. So what has changed in recent months. Also "We wouldn't have pushed it this far if we hadn't got that support from Duncan Sharkey, he was the one who encouraged us to work with the swimming pool project team." Taken from todays Worcester News on Line.

I find it amusing that in the list of Tory councillor comments is this one "My view is that they have chosen Perdiswell because Worcester City own the land and they think they can have it for free or a very cheap rent." Whoever wrote that is most definitely in a prejudicial situation! I think I'm comfortable in naming him as it is similar to comments he made in the horrendously poorly constructed letter he sent in on the Planning Portal - it's your "esteemed" Councillor for St Stephens - Mr Gareth Jones Councillor Jones was a fan of the club when at SGL,as soon as "a Perdiswell plan" was mentioned ,he decided that he would be totally against any move by the club. Hypocrite comes to mind.

The Perdiswell bid is still subject to an active planning application, and councillors will vote on the viability of this site and make decisions purely from a planning perspective. They cannot vote against it on the basis of "they don't like it" If it meets the criteria as laid out in the planning regulations, then they must vote in favour of planning consent. On this link is a list of "material planning considerations" that are taken into account, and also list of issues that cannot be taken into consideration. www.richmond.gov.uk/what_is_a_valid_objection_to_a_planning_applicationI find it amusing that in the list of Tory councillor comments is this one "My view is that they have chosen Perdiswell because Worcester City own the land and they think they can have it for free or a very cheap rent." Whoever wrote that is most definitely in a prejudicial situation! They probably forgot to add the word council. But yes a very interesting situation

I suspect there would be a fair few people willing to chip in a fiver each in order to have an oversized flag of sorts made, unless of course we already have one (not an England flag with WCFC on it). Something along the lines of that which Gloucester have. I know a few teams in our league have similar too. Count me in , after this profile week,it needs to be kept going

I can see the council stringing this along until it's no longer financially viable. I think it's fairly clear they don't want the Football Club back, and they will do everything they can to ensure that doesn't happen. What encouragement have they ever given?? Sadly this is the crux of the matter with a Conservative run Council - sitting on it hoping it'll go away. We asked questions of Councillor Gareth Jones (who was elected in the ward where most of the Anti-Stadia cabal reside surprisingly) in the Worcester News about his u-turn on the Football Club and to get him to answer questions about his stance on the project and how there was a lot of scaremongering going on from his part. Still awaiting any response - and that was from May 2015. The cynical amongst us might hint they will delay hearing the Planning Application until they can get enough of their party on the Planning Hearing Committee to replace the sympathetic and supportive Labour members where they can flatly turn it down there and then... At least we have Joy Squires and her party on the side of City .We just need to get rid of the incompetent Tory Council

I believe the contract we have with Kiddy has an option on our side for a second year, don't hold me to it though!! I have heard a couple of times recently that Bromsgrove is the preferred choice - which would mean we'd have to pay for improvements such as an extra turnstile. When we went there for the Senior Cup I thought it looked rather run down, but not to the point where it wouldn't necessarily be a viable option. Would prefer Evesham if we had to go anywhere like you I thought Bromsgrove was a bit of a dump when we played there pre season . I suppose anywhere after kiddy is going to seem like a backward step ( bar a new ground at perdiswell of course ) Bromsgrove would not take to much money to get it up to standard,if we are paying £50,000 to Kiddy plus the bar takings then, some of that cash could go on improvments .Also it is well served by the bus service to Brum(every 20 mins) for those with passes. But wait and see what happens
