H/T 2-0 Great commitment and no passengers. Ferribys no7 is lucky to still be on the pitch after assaulting Wayne and Nathan is less than a minute.

I'm sat with a qualified ref and he agrees, Ferriby 7 should be off, and he is quickly losing control.

Yes a very very good performance against a big physical Ferriby team. Difficult to single out anyone as all the lads did very well. Our defence though was superb, all of the back four were top quality particularly second half when Ferriby came looking to get back in the match. Speaking as an Ellis Deemey fan there is no doubt our midfield looked far more fluent and we broke forward much quicker than we used to when Ellis was here. Jordan Murphy always looked a real threat going forward and his pace and skill was a constant worry for the Ferriby defence. We should of course have had another couple of goals but the fact we created so many quality chances demonstrates what a good performance this was against a top team. Finally what a prospect that Sean Donellan is, for such a young lad he looks as though he has it all, good,in the air, composed on the ball, strong in the tackle and excellent distribution. Without getting too carried away I was fortunate to see Bryan Robson play when he was very young and seeing Donnelan today encouraged a favourable comparison.
Well done the lads and the Management Team excellent work indeed!!!!,

Stamoo is spot on with his assessment. Solid defending with pace and purpose going forward, and a fully deserved win, and it should have been by more, it was that convincing. Excellent all round team performance, with a much improved team spirit. Well done to all.

this was the best i have seen the City play this year, what a great team performance, & the captain did us proud. my player of the game was Sean Donellan, but the whole team were great, & again the management did a brilliant job. two of the top 4 defeated in a week, onwards & upwards.

I'm quite moved by that result. After the week we've had it would have been easy for heads to drop today, but no everyone fought and won. That's the spirit we need at the club.

This team has a balance of experience, youth and commitment. What a fantastic week and what brilliant piece of management skills to bring together a group of individuals who will play for this club. Credit to you all, you deserve it.

two good results in a row, positive play and a 100% win rate under Jacko's captaincy... how can we complain if we play like this every game? Donnellan continues to look like he'll go far in the game, I only wish we had him until the end of the season - or longer!!
Defence looked solid, but I certainly think Gudger is better in a central role, but did the job well filling in for Tyler, who was apparently unwell. Murphy is very comfortable with the ball at his feet, and his ability to get around a player is amazing - I do however think he needs to learn when it's better to pass the ball, rather than risk losing the ball, and ending the attack, he often holds onto the ball just a bit too long.
I felt like Jacko coming off made us look light in midfield, and I was convinced we were going to concede until Dean Waldron came on.
Three points, two goals, one good team performance

This performance said to me - look, we've had a tough week but we have passion, we have desire, we want to put a smile back on everyone's face, and that's exactly what we did. All credit to the management for working out a plan to deal with Ferriby's game, it was well executed by every City player out there today and with better finishing we could have win by three or four.
We have pride in the team that bears our city's name and it was great to see that in evidence today, both on and off the field.

Wow. Brilliant. NFU were a big physical side, their #9 dwarfed Thommo, but we were skilful, committed, battled and 'stuffed' them (thats a technical term). Donnellan got 2 by being in the right place at the right time, both created by Murphy who was a constant threat wide on the left. Their half time talk was probably along the lines of 'see their #11, well go slow him down' as their #2 made a couple of hefty challenges on him, but credit Murphy who got up each time without any fuss and continued to give them the run around. How ironic that he was cautioned right at the end for an innocuous challenge. The #9 also played his part, working non-stop to pressure their defence. Is it an optical illusion but has Nti bulked up? He seemed stronger in possession.
What more can one add about this performance? Maybe we should have scored more. You would not think that this was the same team as the previous home game, of course there were changes. It was as if a defibrillator had been used on a sick patient.
The feel good factor has returned on the pitch (or was I overcome by the sunshine today).

Fantastic performance echoing all the comments above. Really liked that during breaks in play Danny Jackman was moving from player to player getting his views across. Great appointment as captain.

Absolutely class today, all over the pitch. Made even more impressive following the depressing news received this week and recent departures. Watched the away game at Ferriby last season and they are a useful side but we made them look ordinary today. Well done City.

wxjl2nyt. That's alright. Zeke. Your glasses may need cleaning, that wasn't me. I thought i saw you handing over a mike before someone else started to announce them? Well I tried to hand it to him while still standing in the PA box but my arms weren't quite long enough. So I got written permission from Jane, to get past the stewards, and ventured into the unknown. My knees did turn to jelly when I got near the queens but somehow I managed to make it back to safety without disgracing myself. Never again!

After my criticism of the management team following the dismal performances against Gloucester, Brackley and Corby I am delighted to eat my words and apologise after the wins against Fylde and in particular the stunning performance yesterday. There, what do I know about football?
I am also delighted to report and thank those who came forward and offered support to join me in trying to help Mike Davies set up a sub committee with some commercial ideas and fundraising.

Fair play for owning up! I know it's only 2 games, but from what I have seen and heard, it seems to me like many of the problems were inside the dressing room, and they have now been addressed.
Count me in as an extra hand for any fundraising needed, I was a bit occupied yesterday selling 50/50 tickets and dressing up a dragon!

That was my first league game since the last day a SGL and what a game to pick. I thought it was going to be dreadful. It was as good as anything you could watch anywhere. Stand out player for me was Jordan Murphy. We should have scored 4 more goals but I'm not complaining. Fantastic entertainment.

We're at 'home' again on Saturday 6th Feb, against Alfreton (9th in the league).
