I was under the impression that WCFC had already agreed next season would be at the same rate as this. or is this Kidderminster just trying it on...

Only suitable alternative is Bromsgrove, which I'd be supportive of, cannot mess around if Verner was right in what he previously said, that we'd need to decide by March however!

Last night the Chairman said that he had been looking at alternative grounds, but most of them did not meet the grading requirements for Conference North football, however he had found one that may be suitable.
I'm sure he also stated that KHFC had a possible new tenant for next season (or did I imagine that) ??

I know this would not be a popular choice with some and I know it's further away but has anyone considered the Hereford FC ground as it could be cheaper than Aggborough and we might get more spectators if some Hereford fans came to watch too. Just a thought to float in the mix?

Just a thought to float in the mix? Not a bad shout but what about the fact we would be playing even further away from Worcester?

Hi b&w, Well I did acknowledge that in my post. I was just thinking though that their ground must be up to the required level for us to continue in the league we are in, which Bromsgrove is not and it might work out cheaper for the Club than Aggborough, now that every penny saved helps the Club. Of course I would prefer somewhere closer and ideally within the City somewhere, as we all would, but being realistic that is not going to happen any time soon. So unless we get relegated only Kiddie and Hereford and maybe Redditch, if their ground is still acceptable at National League level, are the only practical options as I see it. If we are relegated, god forbid, then yes Bromsgrove, Redditch (if not up to league standard) or Evesham come into the frame. I merely mentioned Hereford as I had not seen their name put in the mix and must be worth exploring as an option.

not good for mid week games & would not get the train or bus as cheep so we would loose valid supporters &cannot see Hereford fans being any different to Kiddy ones, even at the subsidised rate. like the ground, but would it bring the players the same as kiddy does as with Bromsgrove or Redditch & even Evesham, or even Swifts ground, would love to know where Board have in mind...

The only alternatives I can think of on the same level as Aggborough would be Hereford, but I can only see attendances dwindling even further if we move out that far. Redditch, maybe, but it's a s*** hole. I'd prefer the Victoria ground out of all the possibles.
Edit - Stourbridge maybe?

Funny you should mention Stourbridge. I was thinking last night if they were Kiddies other and maybe preferred option. They would like to play at our level but have been told they couldn't because their ground is not up to the level required, so maybe they are looking at a way to solve their promotion ambitions by playing at Kiddie while they perhaps bring their own ground up to the standard required.

Some of us (me included) are not too savvy on what the ground criteria for our league are. It would be interesting to know if the likes of Malvern or Pershore could go into the mix.

It was whispered to me a few weeks back that WBA Reserves (or U21's or similar) where bidding to be Kiddies tenants

I'm sure the Worcester News ran a story about Warriors building a big reserve ground. I wonder if that's been considered? I can't find any facts on the ground as it was a while ago.

Pershore and Malvern are way off the current grading.
Hereford if I remember rightly struggled to get a Safety Certificate but knowing their crowds are now quite high I would guess theyve now opened up previously closed stands.
The little whisperthat BJ heard is what weve all heard, then again they could be bluffing.

Based on my knowledge of all these grounds, if it's not Aggborough next year it can only be a spruced up and improved Victoria Ground at Bromsgrove. With ex City Director Jon Prescott being over there, it may also be an opportune moment to ask him about the running of the old SGL Social Club, which somehow contributed next to zero to the Football Club as income, but which was allowed to run up a debt of 37k to the Football Club that eventually got written off !
I really do try to let go of the past, but with the Club in such a parlous and desperate state , I just can't !

You could probably get to Solihull Moors in the same time that you could get to Edgar street from Worcester, so if we're considering Hereford as a possibility, you may as well include Moors as they must meet the requirements as it is.
Kiddy have been trying to make a link between themselves and WBA for a while now, so to have the baggies development squad play at Aggborough makes sense for them.
A silly question but hopefully one that can be answered - it doesn't seem that long ago that Bromsgrove Rovers were in our league, with the same ground - how were they allowed to play? Was it simply that the regulations were not as tight back then? Or is there a get around that we could potentially utilise.

there are lots of clubs within the hour to get to Hereford that could be a possibility... i will start with 2 i dont think we have much chance but always hoping Wolves do they have a training ground or even Walsall now the others Dudley, Halesowen, Warwick, Stratford on Avon, Ledbury, most of these will need improvements i think but not sure
then the i think maybe silly but why not Warwick university have lots of sports pitches, are any up to standard, or even as someone has said before could we get more involved with Worcester university & get stadium built with them...

As KHFC is owned by Colin Gordon and his 'ambition' for the Harriers is to develop a football academy, then a link with WBA youth is probably close to the truth. Can't see much on the attendance at matches front so he may strike a deal to have their loanees play free of charge in exchange for free ground facilities? If 'flash' decides that is what he wants for KHFC, then he only has to 'up' the rent to squeeze us out of Aggborough. Surely the £50k rent (or whatever) that we pay at the moment could just as easily be spent on improving a.n.other suitable ground. Bromsgrove would, in my opinion, offer the best choice regarding transport links (plenty of parking at Asda opposite the bus station) just a couple of hundred yards from the ground - drop the other half off to do the shopping, whilst you go the match Maybe an arrangement could be done whereby we get revenue from pitch-side advertising? Something we have no control over at Aggy. What about social activities pre, and during, matches? At the moment all the bar and refreshment takings at Aggy go straight to KHFC. We may also get some Bromsgrove folk attending as we would, in theory, be their local 'big' club. I think we only get the odd Kiddy fans now depending on the opposition being played (a dozen to watch the recent Glouceseter game?). Dodger.

Afraid so many of those suggestions would be a big ''no chance'' on their ground requirements.
Dodger, the problem with spending a years worth of rent on improving someone elses ground, is that we'd still have to pay them rent on top of that (albeit at a probably lower rate than at Kiddy).
I was told by Mike Davis earlier in the season that we are allowed to bring our own advertising boards to Kiddy, that could be placed on top of their own, but we have the issue of man power and storage - as our adverts would have to be put up and taken down for each of our own matches, where would you keep the advertising boards when not up? We do currently get a cut of the bar takings in the aggborough suite, and I think I've been told that we get all the money from parking on Aggy... I feel the need to point out that you'd easily be able to fit another 10-15 cars on the car park if some people didn't leave a 4 foot gap between themselves and the car beside them - and the wheelie bins were moved out of the way neatly. That would bring in at least a few hundred quid a year extra for little work.

Many of these are Kidderminster players, staff and supporters who take up space priorto taking coaches to away games. We lose potentially £20 a game, possibly more

I'd have thought it was much higher than £20 a game, but still the point stands.

Thanks tsj for clarifying the bar takings concern......I don't feel so bad now about buying a pint (or two) It's becoming a concern all round with plan 'A' (Perdiswell) seemingly under threat, and plan 'B' (Aggborough) also potentially under threat especially as KHFC are also strapped for cash. Mr Gordon no doubt has his own agenda for KHFC (and, as the owner, why shouldn't he?) and if that means excluding WCFC in his plans there is nothing that can be done. If we've already (previously) reached agreement for ground sharing at Aggy next season then at least we have some breathing space. An unknown in next season's arrangement is if we both end up in the NL North. Yes, the league rules acknowledge ground sharing as acceptable but has there been a precedent for both ground sharing teams to be in the same division? The City/Kiddy arrangement could be challenged by other clubs on the basis that both City and Kiddy would, in effect, play one more home game each than other clubs. (i.e. City away to Kiddy may be seen as City playing on their registered 'home' ground and vice-versa for City v Kiddy). Plan 'C' may need some urgency. Dodger.

It was confirmed at the open meeting by Joe Murphy that there would be no problems WHEN harriers come down.
And Hampo publically said that Harriers think they can put the rent up significantly, however this would then become a legal matter

Stadium Solutions @steel_pj · 3h3 hours ago On site at worcestercityfc tomorrow, fitting the new Turnstile Building we have manufactured #Turnstiles #GroundImprovements So what does this mean? Are we leaving Kiddy for Evesham or Bromsgrove? Perhaps anyone passing these two grounds might be able to find out some info.

This is merely the club currently helping a local club with the installation of a turnstile.
The club are in negotiations with KHFC and are of course exploring other viable options

These turnstiles turned up at Aggborough this morning to be fitted. Reference was Mike Davis and Worcester City. Think they were meant for elsewhere :-0

I can't envisage the league seeing a ground-share as an advantage to City and Harriers. Being "home" is an advantage; being "away" is a disadvantage. However the advantage of being home is cancelled out when the opponent is also home. In fact, logically, a team should win all home games and lose all away games; three points for the former and no points for the latter. Logically the two City and Harriers games should be draws. One point for City in the former and one point for City in the latter. That's one point less than the "normal" scenario. The League should be awarding both City and Harriers a bonus point at the start of the season. ;-)
