But now he's back, as mentioned on another thread. But now he is back to win a contract. We have such a strong midfield now there is no guarantee that he will be needed. I doubt if Carl has much budget left either now Reece, Thompson etc have signed on and Breeze, Denny and others look like the deserve contracts this season.

If Denny,Breeze and Mills all manage to convince Carl and Matt to get contracts and sign, add to that Reece, Thorley and Birley and that is as strong a midfield as you are going to see. Hope Reece controls his language a little better too as we don''t want him picking up yellow cards like KoC did last season. 1

For me gk positions is up for grabs Probably go with glyn for his experience! Def think we have enough options there midfield I'd start with Tom and rob elvins still not sur on who out wide Edwards still complicates it a bit for me breeze looks to iratic! Forward gota go with symo and glover, taylor don't look fit in my opinion but has a gd impact and green I went to Corby last year and he scored a great goal and scored an important goal at Harrogate we need four strikers so maybe them four so think we are looking good so far! Would go with Mills in midfield to both deliver the corners and free kicks too www.worcestercityfc.co.uk/index.php/component/k2/item/198-mills-rejoins-whilst-brown-departs

Good point, missed Breeze off, Thought he had signed at the weekend to? Haynes looks too lazy for me. Both Saturday and at Stratford he was not willing to track back after a missed tackle or losing the ball. Looks skilful enough and willing to go forward but too open and lazy for me at the back. Not sure about Ayres too. He looked out of his depth Vs WBA altho he is very flexible, works hard and would be willing to give him another chance. Like the look of Brooks, made things difficult for Macklin and kept him fairly quiet whilst Jackson ran us around Saturday and think he could play a role in midfield similar to Elvins too if asked? These were just my initial thoughts and totally a personal opinion

Well with 3 pre season matches gone and a big one on Tuesday I reckon Carl will have a pretty good idea who he wants to keep and who he will move on Any opinions from what I have seen mine would be a squad of 19 containing
GK (2) Thompson Sargeant
Def (7) Whitehead Weir Deeney Elvins Khan Brooks Rowe
Mid (6) Thorley Reece Denny Mills Edwards Birley J Smith
Fwd (4) Glover Symo Hunt Taylor

If charges are being brought against any individuals then the matter should not be discussed on here otherwise you will prejudice any decisions.

Thanks...isn't Bashley a strange choice of place to bond ?...seen City play them a few times when Bash were in the same league. Should've picked Poole Town and then I could've walked. The bonding will probably take place around the bars, nightclubs and restaurants of Bournemouth in the evening. The Bashley game is more of a final 'training session' before the start of the new season. The competitive games are being played at the moment and I think the squad that makes this 'bonding trip' will be more or less the final squad that will compete this season. Well that is my personal view of it all at least.

Yeah I too hope the steward who was assaulted is okay and that he charges the idiot who decided to have a cheap shot at him. The stupid little kids who were tormenting than ran a 7 second 100 meters as soon as the gate was breached are to blame. Top marks to the stewards , not a job many would have wanted to do today and yes saw you getting heavy with the one escapee who dashed across the stands to a escape to victory. He had no chance against the mighty Gestapo Verner. LoL

Thought our stewards did a Sterling job keeping the rabble at bay and everything was very quiet in the second half. On the pitch we did not look troubled at all even with what was a mostly second string side. That was Glovers best game back so far and only Jackson of the Hereford side would have a chance of getting in our 1St team line up. Could very easily see these two sides swapping divisions at the end of this season

Indeed you are again right harley But as this road sign is facing the ground and it is certainly the road that the ground exists on today, so I believe that is why the shirt uses this spelling and why the web site does too. I do not agree with it, it should be with an apostrophe, but that is the spelling on the road sign as you can see

I subscribe and don't get them either I will aim to get them as soon as possible from the club and add them. We are going to have a page dedicated to competition results, team builder, super gold etc. Any other items you want adding please let us know and hopefully we can add them at some stage during the season.

Nice website well done! one question are u planning to put the supergold and other competition results on the website? I'm an exile so don't get these. Could be an opportunity to promote at the same time Indeed, yes we are going to put all results on-line Eventually the web site will be the place for all WCFC information

Kev Sandwith has decided to look for a club closer to his lincolnshire home so any transfer to us is off. Leaves this to Khan and Baker to fight it out for the left back position. Plus Ellis Deeney who looked really good on Saturday

Brown, Edwards and Green all played yesterday. Edwards was skipper for the day too, looked okay, had a couple of chances but did do the same as last year beating a player 3 times and getting to close to the by-line only to put in a poor cross or out of play. They all looked fit - Deeney played really well, looked totally different class. He had so much more time than anyone else. Brown looked inventive too.

www.worcesternews.co.uk/sport/9804061.Keeper_Glyn_is_on_City_radar/Anyone remember that astonishing save he made against us at Spytty in the 1-0 defeat (when Shabs got sent off). Probably the best save an oppo keeper has made against us. Well, I guess we are not going to go with three keepers? As a non-league 'keeper, Thompson is Danny McDonnell material. personally think that Dormand will go out on loan. Not sure he will be happy being a number 2 as Sarg probably would. Thompson is too good a 'keeper not to go for him if available

He is, according to today's WEN in training with Cambridge United (not so near Manchester after all) but could "yet return to Worcester City". Make of that what you will. I think he has gone to Cambridge for a pre season trial but if it doesn't work out we have asked him to return to Worcester. We are his fall back if he doesn't find anything else basically

Being on the Stalybridge site and putting themselves last i would imagine it could be the order they play each team for the first time? Given the opportunity i think i would take 3rd right now and a play off place

Well, it would appear from todays WEN he IS back! A great signing with a big if - if he gels with Symmo. Check the official City web site and you will see that indeed he has signed on for another12 months. www.worcestercityfc.co.uk/

Surely his contract with Hereford has run out? It expired on 30th June according to previous reports. The obvious is to make a contract run to month to month but if was signed for instance on July 5th it would run 365 days to the following July 5th altho' probably reported as end of June. Just a technicality I am presuming.

You could increase the coffers even more by using a token scheme. You attend 15 games over the season and get a token each time you attend and that will guarantee you to be able to buy at least 1 ticket for the last game. If any tickets left those that have 10 tokens get the next available allocation. Accepting of course that we will need about 1500 for Chester fans who will have to buy through their supporters scheme. That way we may keep attendances high throughout the season but I agree that an announcement should be made so supporters can plan.
