Been along time since I've posted on here,(formerly known as Dorset WCFC ) in all the years I followed the City I always dreamed of a game against Hereford and tomorrow you have one...if only I could get there for it , however, i notice that that you have a friendly lined up against Bashley... Scummer territory...so will go and watch the ' old' team. Can this fixture be confirmed?? The City had such a good season last time, still always the result i look for first, hope this season is a success and we both get promoted!! oh..and beat those 'welshmen' on saturday ;D

It is confirmed. It's on City's website. Part of a "bonding weekend away" I think.

Thanks...isn't Bashley a strange choice of place to bond ?...seen City play them a few times when Bash were in the same league. Should've picked Poole Town and then I could've walked.

Seems a long time ago when the "Dorset Blues"flag used to be spread across many a Southern League perimeter board!

The bonding will probably take place around the bars, nightclubs and restaurants of Bournemouth in the evening. The Bashley game is more of a final 'training session' before the start of the new season. The competitive games are being played at the moment and I think the squad that makes this 'bonding trip' will be more or less the final squad that will compete this season. Well that is my personal view of it all at least.

Anyone know how much was collected in the buckets yesterday? don't know Andy. Only 2 people on buckets which was a shame.

Final Score.
Bashley 1 v 3 City
X2 Glover Polan
Dan Polan was back in a City shirt today and scored after replacing Glover as a sub in the second half.
Matt Sargeant left the game first half due to injury and what looked as a groin muscle. Rob Elvins replaced him in goal.
Deeney, Thompson and Birley have not travelled with the squad.
On a whole we looked solid and the partnership between Gloves and Symo is starting to really click.
King Carl made an appearance in the last 10 minutes after naming himself on the bench !!

Yes, I think that was the best game Robbie has had in a City shirt! Joking apart, yes I agree, he can truly play anywhere, did well in goal too.

I think that's four wins out of five pre-season friendlies isn't it?
I know they count for nothing, but winning becomes a habit.

I think it its important that they won these games against these lower sides like Bashley, Stratford (and Hereford lol) and beat them handsomely. When they come up against another Godalming in the cup they should do a proper job on them this time.
