Sadly the standard of writing and general journalism that passes for our local newspaper nowadays has markedly declined over the last 15 years. You could be guaranteed that Tony Moore (God Rest Him) would have been all over the Perdiswell project writing positive articles. Sadly - the present incumbents of the role are not fit to sharpen his pencils HERE HERE! Agree 100%

Hi Everyone, I am looking at the ticket stubs returned so far and have one signed as what looks like 'G Wick'(?), with a five digit number. The ticket numbers are 1946 through to 1949. Can the person concerned or someone who knows this person confirm if that name is correct or not and complete what I assume are the last five digits of a phone number, so should they be a winner we have a full phone number by which to contact you/them by? Also if you could let us know where you live, not the full address, as we will get that when we call you should you be a winner, I just want the town or city i.e. Worcester, Droitwich, Ledbury etc, so we know where to deliver your prize if you win, so we can plan a delivery schedule should that be required. Many thanks If it is a five digit number, then it is going to be Worcester. All around Barbourne area are still five digit numbers so it will be the full number not just the last 5 digits of the number

sorry but who is turning on Symo. His goals kept us in the top half, I think he did a job but my preference is for Danny every time. when Dan was at Nunny Symo was a decent replacement but he didn't do it for me. he doesn't stay on his feet, he's not going to score a 35 yard strike, he is a poacher and not the sort of striker I think WCFC need, also shown by how often he kept the bench warm last season. not turning on him at all, just think Danny has far more potential and is much more of a team player. It's such shame that people are so quick to turn on players that decide to move on. Symo has been the top scorer for the last 2 seasons. People shouldn't be so quick to judge unless they know the circumstances as to why a player moves on. Why did Elvins, Birley, Symo, Weir, move on? They have all done us proud over the last few seasons and we should wish them well!!

got to agree 100% with you Niels and couldn't disagree more with Tim. Glover was a work horse last season and would take him every time over Symo who I have not really rated ; even in his first season Is it good news though? I'd rather have Symmo any day myself; Glover always strikes me as a lazy player who wants everything on a plate. I didn't see enough effort from him last season to warrant re-signing. That said if he went back to the form he first displayed when he came here then he'd be a good acquisition. Either way it's a demonstration that all is not yet lost! Tim, I have to completely disagree with you about Danny Glover being lazy. He worked his socks off this season, both upfront and in defence, looking for the ball when things weren't going well for him, while Symmo just stood there/moped about upfront most of the time. I think a Moore & Glover strike force will be exciting to watch next season, especially with Williams' eye for a pass as well as his pace to get past defenders, and Thorley's vision and work rate.

Not surprised; another really good player lost. He used to travel with Symmo I think. Symmo lives in Cheltenham, very close the ground, Tyler is in Led bury and used to travel in on the train as he doesn't drive.

Mr Verner Sir Please put me in for next season's wooden spoon, 3rd was far too high for a team that wasn't even managed! I will drop you £10 when I next see you I plan on one thing and one thing only ... winning !! Should I win, I will be putting the prize money back into the trust ;-) At the moment (still a few that haven't signed up) we have only £55 out of the original figure of £120 but we have a little time to go yet. Just looking back over this, looks like for once I was right ! Thanks to all that took part, I will be setting it up again next season and will release info nearer the time.

Even loan players have to be paid and they need to be the right loan players to not disrupt the dressing room. Some loanees couldn't give a damn about who they play for or thier performance where by others become a real part of the team and have great pride in their performances. Not every club will loan their players out and pay their wage, we will either contribute or cover them totally and the budget may not even stretch to that?

travellingsupporter as Rob says your passion is commendable and is just what this club needs. The trust are working hard to save this club and as member of the trust board myself I am sure I am the same but you can't blame us for trying. Due to work regrettably I am struggling to do my fair share but Rob is working his heart out to keep us alive and his words have not read the same on paper as they would hearing them. Llikewise Rich & Verner are working all hours as are all board members. We have an AGM shortly, join the board and give your advice face to face and I am sure we will listen and if you see how much work these guys are putting in you will have the confidence to offer a helping hand again. ps. I am shre Rich means he has never knowingly turned any help down

Wow Liverpool legends. Do we know who is in the team? if it is to be a start studded side that will be worth seeing, not sure it will draw many in if it is a team of unknowns. Have to agree with Travelling Supporter about the contradictory output. I am more than a little confused and it would be good to explain what is happening. Is 1500 ticklets, 1000 tickets and many other questions could be better explained. The message has been totally lost with me.

Sounds like a good list but can I ask How many are going to be proper cask ales from the cask and how many are going to be boil in the bag from the plastic bag in a box, like last year?? Last chance to get down have a few beers and cut a rug! Beer and Cider so far? Ale list to follow.. SLAP ale The Winning Post is also donating a Winning Post Gales HSB 4.8% St. Austell Proper Job 4.8% Biddenden Dry Cider 8% Moles Black Rat Cider 6% Westons Country Perry 4.5% Westons Traditional Scrumpy 6% Westons Cider Twist Raspberry 4% Westons Wyld Wood Organic 7.3% Wilkins 10 litre scrumpy Must admit I don't like it from the bag in a box (polypin) but we had pretty much all cask last year and good stuff it wass too. Can't see why that would change this year. Cider may be in a polypin but can't see why the ale won't be served properly from a cask.

No, when you have a deadline and a target, you stick to it. So with this new deadline, when can people get refunded if the targets aren't reached? Some people might now wish to have their money returned, what do they do? How does this extension impact on the price of regular season tickets? Or is that all ripped up now? Season tickets from 4th May to 30th June are no longer £180? Are they now £100? And what are the new targets? is it still 1500? 1000? or what? This tinkering is not helpful and actually says desperation! Agree 100% brookside. This sounds desperate and will have an adverse effect which is a real shame

Not a lot as the contract is signed. The appropriate leagues will work together to fit all the games in but we may get some Sunday games I would imagine and may not get our first choices for bank holidays, new year etc.. We always ask to be at home on boxing day so that may change too. Not sure I see where the Sunday games bit comes in, I thought that Harriers had stipulated a break of three days between games for the pitch to recover Don't think KH would have any say if we are both drawn at home in the cup or both home games clash on any weekend, they would play Saturday and we would be on the Sunday. What the FA says will over rule

What would be the implications for us, if any, if Harriers do get promotion to League 2? Not a lot as the contract is signed. I stand corrected! This sort if information was once available on the official website, but it disappeared when the site was updated last summer. I think those two minutes or so at Dover are then only time he's ever played himself in his time as manager. Not a league game, I know but he played twenty minutes in a pre season friendly before this season down at Bashley. Remember him playing at Dover too, we won and I think there was only about 8 of us on a very cold night

I feel very, very sad at this news. I only ever knew Tony as Tony I never knew his surname, but I used to stand on the terraces of many an away game with him when I used to follow Worcester more regularly, particularly when I was living in Worcester many years ago. As I recall he didn't stand at home games, I think that he sat in the main stand, so I only used to chat with him before and after the game. The last time I saw Tony was at an away match and indeed the last match I've been to and that was Oxford City v Worcester City last August, we spotted each other and went and chatted of course he ribbed me about my non-attendance these days and that Oxford being on the doorstep was probably a home match for me. I used to recall him driving to many an away game back in the nineties, didn't he have a Jaguar? He frequently gave Tim and Nigel two other former City supporter stalwarts who like me have lapsed in the attendance stakes, but I often heard them talking about going to matches, I think that Tony used to quite like driving pretty fast, he used to offer me a sly wink as Tim would recall white knuckle journeys to the delights of Hednesford, Atherstone, Nuneaton and further afield. He was generous man who I always chatted with I never saw him away from the football but I guess he was the same person in all other aspects of his life. I feel very sad tonight, I don't know how old he was but I think he seemed far too young to depart this world. There are fewer and fewer faces that I recognise when I make my infrequent trips to the lane and now there is one less. I will be at the Chester game which has now become an even sadder fixture, I hope to say hello to a few of you and to bid a farewell to the likes of Tony and remember others that have passed away in recent years. Fin Yes tony was 55 in December and yes he did drive one very fast Jag which was always his pride and joy (after his children and Grand children of course). He sold the jag about 3 maybe 4 years ago and of recent times got rid of cars altogether and relied on on trains, taxis and a few select friends to get him about. I was with you at that Oxford game too and he sat alongside us in the 2nd half in the stands.

All the names mentioned have all had a minutes silence (or applause in some cases)in their memory.
I think Tony should have his passing remembered alone. Why should a select few be mentioned and many others be missed out?? Either everyone should get a mention (& I don't think that list from over then many years can be compiled confidently without anyone being missed) or we just give those who knew Tony the chance to remember him

Oh course it is JIGG, least you and some others can see it, would appear on various other media outlets that some supporters just don't understand the two that have left were probably near the top in the earnings, smaller budget next season? Well yes smaller crowds means less money. The club won't have a ground ! How many will turn up to the Lane for a game next season to be greeted by rubble ? I think if we save some to go towards next season then we have a chance of hanging onto a couple of players like Symo, Thorley and Elvins etc Yes I believe they WERE / Are the top earners and have relived some of the pressure from us as I am sure we have marginally overspent this year. I think Danny Glover has been excellent this season. Willing to fight back and help the cause , winning the ball back from defense but it has hampered his ability to get on the score sheet as often as he would have wanted. he will get his goal scoring touch back at Halifax and he will be back with us next season. Mills is totally different. Never wanted to work for the team, very much an I Am player and not a great loss. Surprised we hadn't off loaded him earlier as he has kept the likes of Matt Birley out of the side (when he has been fit) and Matt has been far more consistent. I can't see too many wanting to sign up early (except for the real loyal few such as TT, Elvins and Shab) as the wage bill will have to be cut next season and most will hold out for better deals at other clubs first. I think Carl has done well to off load these, relieve some of the financial pressure and start to look at some youngsters ready for next season already. Proof hopefully that he (plans to be) will be with us next season too !! ;D

I am not surprised that Mills and now Glover have left, I always thought that Mills had a talent that was far exceeded by his ego and I don't think he will be missed, Glover though will be , even if he didn't always live up to expectations, having said that I think he used City as a stopgap. lets hope Carl can get somebody in with the wages saved on these two, and I also hope its somebody who wants to play and fight for City (although not literally) Think it is just a good way to reduce the wage bill. We are not going up or down so may as well just have enough players to get through the last few games and prepare for next season on what will no doubt be a reduced budget?

The question is - why would anyone risk giving someone who has crippled a string of football clubs ANY kind of job in the sport, let alone an executive role? There must be plenty of capable people out there who could help drive Newport forward. Why pick someone with a record of failure in everything he does? Because it wasn't what he knew, it was who he knew. Old boys network 1 sanity check 0

Brookside The car has been given to Dave Boddy as part of a sponsorship deal with Sytner BMW. Not sure if that comes under a company car or a gift and if he is liable for tax on it. But we all know Dave Boddy doesn't take into account Tax in any of his business transactions, don't we! We also know financial decisions are not his forte either!
