Hopfully he uses cartwright on the wing and not in defence as we need him on the wing, maybe its time for pricey to be given a chance again! I believe is in line for some sort of call up, whether that be on the bench or starting at left back. prediction Sandercombe, clarke, evans, Elvins, price Cartwright, O'connor, Thorley, Birley Danks, Glover Polan, Richman, Wright, Walker, McGregor

Yes it is a nightmare. i did the loss at Chelmsford last year. Didnt enjoy the game one bit as i missed most of it from looking through a lens. Started editing it and that was taking hours and was nearly as boring. It is bad enough looking through the lens of a normal camera. you miss all the peripheral action

Its amazing isnt it, troublemakers with no knowledge of the facts only went and got it all correct - must be pretty damned good guesswork. mind you if it was, I wouldnt waste my time on WCFC, I'd turn my hand to Camelot! Then you would win the £9 million tomorrow and invest in a new ground of course......

Didnt neils raise money for pitch covering for the winter? Indeed, that was the what the bike ride to staines was all about wasn't it Have they been bought yet? I remember too well the long drive to arrive just as the ref called off the Kiddy game - only for it to be played on a pitch that wasn't nearly as soft a few days later They reckon it won't be as cold this year as it was last year - so that means a deep freeze all winter lol

They escaped a winding up order today Why can't we find 2 such wealthy benefactors? Surely someone investing in a new stadium would get far more for their money than just paying off the VAT man and debts accumulated over many years?

We are not out of the woods yet!
Not ideal I know, but a ground share with Kiddy might not be the worse scenario in the word?

TYPICAL! Away again! But certainly a game we can win, we should have beaten them at our place and maybe an away game is a blessing on current form , just not so good for finaces.

Took 3 mates to the match as well today - not usually watchers of non league football They all thoroughly enjoyed the game - especially the fact that both sides tried to play good football; and thought City looked a decent side going forward. Made me realise that it's been a while since we had a City side with this much skill and flair, especially in midfield. Ady I agree again, this is the first side for a few season that you feel you want to pay money to watch.

Not really excuses - We do not have the finances and resources to have a squad that can absorb the number of injuries we are having. It would be a different matter if we did. Then it is more a case of the manager recruiting the right number of the right players and getting them to gel. We have the resources to possibly have 11 genuine first team players, with fringe players making up the back fill and bench. When you get 4 or 5 injuries and half the team are missing it is not the managers fault, it is lady luck. Some teams will go through a season with very few injuries. Suspensions are not so much luck as lack of discipline but where one ref will not take any action another might send them off, again the luck of which ref you get. You make a lot of your own luck but I do not feel these are excuses, they are the facts of football.

It isn't just luck on the pitch we need (although that would help too) , this side could be good enough. We won't know because of the lack of luck we are getting with injures Put Shab, Ward, Birley and Clyde back inot today's side and you have a side that hopefully would not have conceded what were two fairly easy goals for them. Yes they could have had 3 or 4 others which were well worked but Tim had a really good game in goal. We had no luck with Tim being sent off, or Ward conceding a free kick on the edge of the box which resulted in the Harrogate come back. It is little things like this that could make all the difference and at the moment everyone of those decisions is going against us. It could have been an inspired piece of management that Ward was left back today, it could have been the solution to the lack of funds for a Shab replacement, now it might be we need another defender for a few games if the injury to Ward was as bad as it looked! A bit of luck would go along way at the moment. i think we might be good enough ...... when we have an eleven on the pitch that can string a few games together. Early season we were top 2/3 because we played the same side for five games in a row and we had a settled side. Ever since we can not play a settled side due to injuries.

Totally agree. We came off half time feeling we did well to hold them to just the one goal, they attacked well down the wings & looked very threatening. Second half we did the same. Got to agree about Thorley too & thought Richman had his best game in s city shirt but still prefer Cartwright & Birley. Shame Birley had the knock in training Thursday he Could have made all the difference. Great thinking by Carl to put Wardy left back & Clarke right back shame we dint get to see it work. Really gutsy 2nd half performance deserving of a point, unlucky lads.
disappointing that it looked like only about 20 City fans made the trip. They saw a cracking game and I feel that if City could just have some luck and less injuries this side can really make a challenge. I expect some good things from this side towards the end of this season and if we keep them together a real prospect for next season

REDS BOSS WARY OF WORCESTER'S AWAY THREAT
ALFRETON Town manager Nicky Law is warning his side to expect the unexpected as the Reds return to action for the first time in a fortnight on Saturday. Law’s side are home to a Worcester City team who have produced some very good results on their travels including a 3-2 victory at Boston United in the FA Cup. In the league, City have drawn 1-1 at AFC Telford United and Stafford Rangers and won 2-0 at Hyde, 3-2 at Vauxhall Motors and 4-2 at Eastwood Town. They have only lost once away from home, a 3-0 reverse from the monster trek to Blyth Spartans, and it is their patchy home form that is the reason they come into the game in 12th place in the table. Reds boss Law said: “They will be something of an unknown quantity to us. They have a new manager who has brought a lot of new faces in and they have picked up some excellent results and some indifferent ones, but that is something you get with a new group of people. “It just once again emphasises the strength and difficulty of the league that they [Worcester] can go to Boston and win and Telford and draw. It is going to be another difficult game for us but it is one we must be ready for.” Law is able to welcome the return from injury of both Darren Stride and Jake Moult, plus he has the boost of central defender Aden Flint available again after a one match suspension. However, he will be without striker Paul Clayton who begins a three match suspension following his sending off four minutes into stoppage time in the goalless draw at home to AFC Telford United on October 16.

I think we kind of predicted that. And I see he is trying to place jamie price too. Shame for both of them as they aren't bad players. They would have been in last years side easily but I suppose that shows the way we are now going under Carl and the new board.... Hopefully in the right direction

Tom Thorley could be classed as a top player on way down, altho the convenience of being eductaed in Worcester at the same time helps. Danny Glover, Tom Evans, Simon Richman are all league players now plying their trade with us and think we would all agree have made a difference. It does happen but maybe on a smaller scale than we would like and limited to those players that are already known to Mark C and Carl H as we don't have much of a talent spotting network. Pikey is another who was spotted and is going the other way (maybe?) on the way up. Would be nice to see him play as he looked useful but the midfield is looking strong with Thorley, Cartwright et al and can't break in.

I guess its a shame that Worcester City werent aware of his talents. We're still basing footballing ability on whether a kid wants to go to Worcester Tech at the age of 16 or not! We're still not forging any real links with junior clubs. One day hopefully that will change. Having said that, playing non-league football is really not that appealing to many young kids, who strangely enough think that going to Uni and getting an education and occupation is more important And I can fully understand that. This is kind of what I was trying to say in my original post. It is a shame that we didnt pick up on this sort of talent. I suppose it is the osrt of thing that George would have picked up in his day? I know youhave siad it too JCP, there is talent out there if we could afford to pay someone to go and find it. The likes of Cheltenham have full time staff sniffing out this sort of talent. Every player has to start some where and non league isn't the worst place in the world to get spotted. It worked for John Barton and plenty more since

Big game this and I think Carl will really have them up for it after last week
If the luck goes our way I reckon we can get a 3-1 win out of this! 2 x Glover & 1 X Danks
