Reading the thread on the link posted by sleepinggiant the mention on there of Paul Carty reminded me that there was intended to be a game between City and Rovers to raise some funds for him following his terrible injury. It was originally proposed to be in January but the weather and City's crowded fixture list were good enough reasons for the match to have not taken place but does anyone know if there are still any plans for the game to be held?

Amongst the benefits that the message board brought to the club were that so many people who had been exiled from Worcester were able to come together and discuss all aspects of the game. Over time the exiles started making the long (for some) journey back to the Lane on a regular basis, and often met up for away games too. The joys of WCFC had been rediscovered by many, and the addiction was back. Tim, I have to agree wholeheartedly with you there. The contact provided by the message board(s) has been a factor in my more frequent attendance at games these days. It has also resulted in new friendships with some first class people.

(Anyone fancy the 100/1 for the title on offer with Skybet?) . Think you may find you missed out on that banker now I usually have a bet on the correct score for City's games and had a couple of bets earlier in the season for us to win the title but even I am not optimistic enough to have bothered with that one.

There have been a number of games lately, probably every game, that have been described as "must win" for City to maintain play-off hopes yet we are still in with a good shout despite not doing too well in many of those games. The players have shown their resilience and determination in a number of games, not least at Hinckley after letting a two goal lead slip yet fighting back to get what must be seen as a very good draw against excellent opposition. They have the character and ability to get a good result tomorrow today and if they play as well as in the defeat at Droylsden we can still achieve something this season. I'm going for a City 3-2 victory (£5 at 28/1 with Bet365) in front of a 1008 crowd. (Anyone fancy the 100/1 for the title on offer with Skybet?) Oh, and if the boo-boys decide to have a go at Jock or anyone else (I really hope this doesn't happen) then it also up to all of us to let them know that their actions are unwelcome. If we had done that at Droylsden then none of the current furore would ever have happened.

Is it your fault Tim that I have a Vote Barak Obama advert on my message board! Nuke the lot of them I say, I have no time for them, totally shallow the lot of them Thanks! That stupid comment has probably got us all now under CIA surveillance.

I don't and I can't be bothered to find out as American "Football" looks like the most boring load of nonsense ever invented. Bloody septics.

I've not fully made up my mind yet and I'm still getting both of them but I've decided to vote for the new one because it gives wider coverage to football outside the Conference's top division.

Alliance Premier League 1979-80 Brakes 1 City 0; City 1 Brakes 1 1980-81 Brakes 2 City 1; City 3 Brakes 3 1981-82 Brakes 0 City 1; City 2 Brakes 1 I think it was two seasons before we joined the APL that I watched a game in the worst fog I have seen a match completed in. I think only about 15 of us City supporters made the trip to the Windmill for a night game. We didn't have much of a clue what was going on (nothing new there I hear you say ) and had to wait for the match report in the Evening News the next day although much of that was probably made up as I don't expect the reporter could have seen any more than we did.

I went along to watch this game tonight hoping, of course, for the away side to lose. Things looked good when Farsley took the lead in the 2nd minute and they looked far the better side for the 1st quarter of the game. Harriers, although initially unimpressive, managed to come more into the game as it went on. The second half was more evenly matched but Farsley could have sewn things up, and made us all happier, if Amjad Iqbal, who had scored the first goal, hadn't skied the ball miles over the bar from a few yards out. Harriers managed to get their deserved equaliser just after they should have been awarded a penalty for handball. I was impressed with the improvement that could be seen in Farsley Celtic from last season. I know we lost twice to them but they look as if they would be a much harder team to play if we were to face them now. I was also impressed with the number of away supporters. There were probably nearly 200 of them there out of a total of 692 (not the 492 as mistakenly reported elsewhere). Contrary to what some City fans think they were not the embodiment of evil. They were a friendly and sporting bunch and I had the pleasure of meeting a couple of old friends too. There was no segregation and no need for it either.

anyone know? or have I asked the question in the wrong place!! The only ruling I know is Law 2 of the Laws of the Game which says, amongst other things, "The ball may not be changed during the match without the authority of the referee." It has become common practice over recent years for that authority to be implied so that games can be restarted quickly. This must be considered a good thing so I don't know why it didn't happen at the game you watched. Maybe Wylie McNaught had sold all the spares.
