Tim, the point I'm trying to make is that a "mega investor" could clear the debts & finance some big transfer deals. BUT, in the past the feeling was that we would be giving away our only real asset...... The freehold of The Lane ! My opinion has always been that this was a risk well worth taking, because there may just be someone out there that will be genuinely interested in building a massive club which is sadly lacking in this area. C D has helped this happen in rugby, so why don't we look to attract a similar investor.

Yes I do Alison, and disagree strongly with that point of view. However, if it's going to be the present board the prospective new directors will be a majority & may hold different views & I do not know the policies of those trying to take over.

Will you change the constitution to allow a "Sugar Daddy" or consortium to buy enough shares to buy the Club ?

Apparently not. It has to be signed by the shareholder & recieved in hard copy bearing that signature.

I have had it confirmed by D H that any proxy forms sent by e mail must be signed & returned by post. a scanned copy sent back by e mail will not be valid.

I'm sure you're right Ealing & thanks for the offer but I have recieved their proxy forms this morning. However my one lad is in Australia & works away quite a lot , getting a signed statement in time will be difficult. That's why I'm trying to find out if an authorization by e mail will be ok.

I think you may have to make your mind up as to which way you will vote beforehand. Also, I am still waiting for someone to help me with the legalities of using proxy votes on behalf of my sons. Can anyone on here advise me if an e mail authorization from them will be ok or not

It's interesting that some of you have already had notice of the AGM, when my letter said that the details would not be posted until today. I'm still waiting for the 1st letter to arrive for my two sons. Any advice on how I can enure that they recieve that letter & more importantly how I can ensure that I can use their votes on their behalf. Will an e mail authorization suffice ?

D B, like all directors have said for as long as I can remember: "If someone came along that could do a better job, I'd stand down." So this guy must be good !

We all know that these have been used to the board's advantage in the past. I'd be interested in the legality of how they are obtained in order to use them. I have a son living in Australia & one in London, both of whom are shareholders & both registered at my address. Neither have recieved the AGM / EGM notice. I will want to use their votes at the meetings. How can I be assured that they will a) recieve notification & b) a proxy form. If these are not recieved, would this be sufficient reason for us to request the overturn of any decisions made which we do not agree to ? AND for those of you who know me, you WILL already know where my support lies !

The whole point of this thread was to start a debate because I do not think that everyone is fully aware of what the outcome of a wholesale boardroom change might bring. There is absolutely no doubt that massive changes are needed but it has not been made clear what changes the new board will make. It was a shame that the offer of cooperation between the two factions was aborted, & by the way do we really know who caused that ?I cannot fault the credentials of any of the proposed new people, on the other hand I would not "sack" everyone there at the moment. I am also interested as to why there are several names of whom we would all have expected missing from the list on the EGM notice, does this mean that the new board will co-opt other directors virtually immediately or run the company with less than half the directors it is entitled to ? Jem, you have responded to this thread in a far more objective manner than normal, but again the point I am making is that these are your opinions of what should happen. They are not a mission statement of policies from either the present or possible future board. Those policies are what we should all be clearly aware of before making the decision of who to remove & add.

It would be good to say thankyou for your help, but it would appear that there have been 2 kinds of responses so far: 1) PREDICTABLE: Lets knock the board. 2) SURPRISINGLY: Asking similar to me. If anyone can answer in a more objective manner, I'd be grateful to hear their comments !

With the AGM / EGM happening at last, we obviously have a very important decision to make. This is not a post to “knock” present or future Directors, just a couple of straight forward questions which do not seem to have been answered on this message board. So rather than the normal "get them out cries", can anyone tell me: Why the proposed new candidates will be any better ? What their policies are ? Where the money is coming from to stabilize the club ?

Over the last month or so here has been some interesting comments regarding the conduct of present & past Directors on this board. I would like to make a couple of observations: 1): B L is & has been no more than one of the team, who has & had no more power than one vote on The Board: so how can he be the sole reason that The Club's finances are in such a bad state ? 2): Much as I may or may not agree with the values of an EGM & the possibility of a new regime: Why did those involved not stay on board & fight their case from what was obviously a stronger position. 3): How much damage is this "take-over" bid causing the club at a time when we need to recruit new playing staff & new sponsorship. 4): Why have none of you with a little more knowledge than most put the likes of Alison straight regarding all the free drinks the Directors enjoy..... All board members pay for their drinks & refreshments by way of a monthly subscription & I can assure you that despite this, one director buys his own drink from the bar because he prefers "a pint of mild"........... & hey Alison I hope he doesn't mind me saying. But it is your beloved B L. On saying all this, my shares are available if needed to secure the EGM.

Ealing, I believe that the catering firm are a long established company who are keeping to their origins of cardboard manufacturers, hence the employment of the use of the fresh "rolls". It is also rumoured that they have a family member involved in a tannery business & they are contracted to them for the supply of the "leather" which they fill the cardboard.... sorry rolls with. However, I do believe that they do use fresh onions !!!! Not the name of the caterer, but I hope that this will help you in your quest to trace them.

What a disgrace, surely this instruction should only have been given by the director with responsibilities for security.

I have some "BUSBY BABES 1957" posters available....... occasionally I give a few to the programme kiosk, so you may have seen them. This would be a good match for the club to make a few extra quid out of them !! I'm away this weekend, but I've got about 150 waiting here; if anyone would like to collect them from my house tomorrow evening. Anyone want to volunteer to sell them ( perhaps on the forecourt ? ), with all money going straight into the club's coffers If you don't know me personally, but think this is a good idea, send me a private message or ask The Chairman, Mike, Alan, Roger or Derek ( I hope they don't mind ) who will know how to contact me. PHOTOS ON THE POSTER ARE: Whitefoot, Colman, Foulkes, Wood, Byrne, Blanchflower, Edwards, Berry. Whelan, Taylor, Viollet & Pegg. AUTOGRAPHS ON THE POSTER (ABOUT 38 ) INCLUDE Charlton,Clayton, Busby, Carolan, Hunter, Webster, Blanchford, Pegg, Cope etc etc
