With potentially WASPS and a version of Stourbridge/Worcester/Sixways sharing Sixways, is there any time left on Saturdays For The Raiders?

A superb triple has set us up for the next month where we can put relegation fears well and truly behind us. The question is can we do it at home? I don’t think Casuals at home is going to be a given but if we apply ourselves as we have in the recent past we should be slight favourites. A good goalie with some real presence hasi made a huge difference in my view. Well done the lads. Yeah, the amount of goals we were conceding was just ridiculous. He's doing is part and a few more shots up the other end, and we'll be safe by Easter

3 wins on the bounce. All away from home and all clean sheets. Definitely see a more positive and hungry squad now.
Outnumbering home fans with a great away support has hopefully helped and seeing the players leave the pitch with a smile on their face is such a contrast to before Xmas.
4 back to back home games and playing Wolves Casuals twice in the next month, could see us put some distance from the relegation zone.
Cornes has handled the criticism amazingly well and he's well aware that it goes with the territory.
Hopefull (if it continues) he will get those who knocked him , give him the credit this time?

Super show from a revitalised City today. CC has clearly been working hard on organisation and playing a simple passing game holding onto the instead of hoof n hope when nothing is on. The whole team looked transformed by that win midweek and the sending off hardly made any difference as the lads managed the game out without too much anxiety. I think it’s the first time I have ever seen a team take a corner and have no one in the box...all bar two or three hanging back to prevent any Bewdley breakaway. In truth two or three would not have flattered us but stuff the goals it’s the vital points we needed and Kyonn grabbed em with a good finish. I thought we would have our work cut out today but Bewdley seemed out of form despite havIng a few talented players. Good turn out by the City fans..must have been 100+ at least. It's the clean sheets I'm happy about. Keep that up and we're in with a chance of a comfortable end to the season and a good headstart on next season.

Still got a few injuries, but not a great deal better than most of the season. We'll always concede, but don't seem to have the firepower to get more than we concede.
I assume the goal of this season is to avoid relegation and build for next season? Not exactly exciting for the casual fans.
7 weeks without a home game and now it looks like only 1 more in the next 6 weeks? (unless a cancelled game is put in)

With 7 weeks since our last home game and comfortably hanging around the bottom 3 and the miserable winter months coming up, I'm worried about supporter apathy.
I know a couple who have already given up on this season and although I expect a decent crowd on Tuesday (if it's not waterlogged), I can see attendences dropping.
This could potentially be our biggest game in terms of kick starting the season. Another postponement would be a massive kick in the proverbials.
Let's hope it's on and a decent performance and hopefull a win.

I understand why the club has been advertising this so much on social media, but the odds of it being on seems to be quite low.
I hope I'm wrong, but all week and this morning, the frost has been relentless.

Just read an email saying about re registering for the Trust. So I followed the link and it seems that it's gone up from £10 a year to £35 a year. Am I correct in this or am I missing something? You get a badge

So. We're still not winning, but there does seem to be an air of optimism?
Obviously there are a lot of fed up supporters. No one wants to be losing every week and scoring 7 goals in 15 games isn't exactly exciting football. But the fans are still turning up and I hope whoever the manager is, they don't do what the last lot did, because I feel with winter coming, it's going to take something special to keep the fans coming on wet and freezing days/nights at the Lane. Especially if we're proping up the table and out of the Cups.

Virtually every 50/50 ball we are outmuscled. We need to give as good as we take.

The MFL website says we have a game on Tuesday, although it's not currently on the City website nor was mentioned in the recent twitter fixture update post, weird. I also just found out that we don't play at Claines Lane, but at the COUNTY SPORTS GROUND. Didn't County Sports stop playing 20 years ago? Made a (very last minute) decision not to go today. As a City fan for 40+ years, I'm used to bad spells and not winning, so I don't base my attendance on the idea that we might get beat.
But this time, it's different. There is something about the situation that we're in, that feels "wrong". Can't put my finger on it, but with club favourites leaving and so many new players coming in, it just feels like the club is in freefall with no ideas (Much like the current government).
I'll still be there Saturday, but away games and midweek games are probably off the agenda for the foreseeable future.

Not just the results, but just saw Billy Shaw's reason for leaving (not happy, needs to enjoy football again). Is there a deeper issue at the club? We all know unhappy players don't perform well, but also many new faces need time to bed in.
I'm hoping things will settle down and time together will start to produce a better team performance.

Went over to watch Malvern Town play on Saturday and was most impressed with the ground facilities there, exactly what we haven't got at Claines Lane. Firstly a flat 4G pitch, all round wide tarmac pathway around the four sides, a decent carpark too. Most of the things that our Landlords should be providing! The standard of football was poorer than what we see at the City though! The cup game at the start of the season was the first time I'd been there in years. It really is impressive.

Yeah, I agree the scoreline doesn't tell the whole story. Uttoxeter, I thought were pretty good, but we outpassed them and defended excellently. Impressed with the new lads and can see us getting comfortably out of the danger zone by Xmas.

Well. Jekyll and Hyde Worcester City, brought their good side out today. 1-0 flattered Lichfield and a great battling performance gave us the fair result. Att 346 was a little disappointing, but not really unexpected.

Regarding looking for a new site for a ground. Financially is that a reality? Where's the money coming from?

Big shake up and the best result. I really thought that the first goal wasn't going to be enough. Whitchurch had some goos chances. But, a clean sheet and 3 points. 438 attendance. You could see on the players faces that they needed this as much as us. Onwards and upwards

Zeke - corect me if I'm wrong, but I thought that hard standing around the perimeter was only necessary from level 4 upwards? Walsall and City are in level 5 - is that correct? I don't know. Thats why I said 'I assumed'. Just seemed a bit dangerous for any league.

No offence to the club, but how has the ground passed the grading system? What was wrong with their ground Zeke? I went there a couple of years back, and it was fine then (for this level anyway). From the bar to the far end, you needed to clamber through high weeds, nettles, dirt humps and fallen metal railings. I just assumed that hard standing around the perimeter was necessary?

Yes we're bottom. 5 games and no improvement. Not looking good. I disagree, there WAS improvement we dominated much of the first half and later stages of the game, the back four looked steadier, the midfield had more bite and creativity it’s just up front where the problem lies. We do not create enough chances and when we do (3 golden chances this afternoon) we don’t put them away. We have a tendency to lump high balls into the box from deep positions which are easy for the opposing centre backs to deal with. We need to play wide and down the channels to create more chances. All will come good it’s just that if we leave it much longer to get into our stride we are never going to catch the top teams. We played better against Malvern. A clean sheet against Atherstone. So a steadier back 4 that conceded 2 goals isn't much improvement. Although Walsall are top of the league, I don't think they will be our toughest opponents.

Still only August and we've had 2 incidents that have resulted in bans. How is this level of football still attracting this type of idiot? Not condoning either incident, but the racism thing should have been long gone.

Weren't there several stories about The Warriors moving to different parts of England? It seems that for years the future of top flight rugby at Sixways was in doubt. I wonder if Raiders will be back at Claines?

The interview after the cup defeat and first league game, Tim came across as quite content? Not particularly worried. Which annoyed me a little. So I'm glad he's got as frustrated as the rest of us now.

Foolishly, last week I genuinely thought that the first home game of the season, on a sunny day, we'd get a 500+ crowd.
But having now lost 3 on the bounce, I'm wondering if we get even close to 300 for the 'derby' against Stourport in a couple of weeks?

Away at Malvern Town on Saturday 6th August 2022, kick off 3:00pm (Extra Preliminary Round)
If we win we get either Daventry Town FC or Worcester Raiders at home.
Could be a great start to the season if things fall into place
