Firstly, I think City should try to share Sixways with Raiders. It was less than a quarter full but still had atmosphere, and the view of the pitch was excellent. Can't share Sixways because the Warriors Women play there as well.

We don't usually have boxing day / new year's day fixtures at this level..... So the players can spend time with family, as I understand it. Looks like we're the only Boxing Day fixture, but a full New Years Day fixture list

Are you sure its on Boxing Day - I thought it was on December 27th at Claines Lane? Both the City and FA websites say 26th

So, not only Raiders away on a Wednesday night, we play them at noon on Boxing Day?
A bit early? Any real need for that?

I see they are widening the path behind the goal. Anyone know how wide it will be?

Segregated.....somehow Do you think if we're both doing really well, there would be any chance at all to have both games at Sixways? Claines, if segregated could posssibly be 1000? But the sky's the limit at Sixways? I'd assume this derby would easily exceed 1000?

Some great new grounds to visit and a massive Derby against the Raiders Bring it on A better league in as much as there will be two "Worcestershire derbies", plus three games against Hereford clubs!!!! - But the standard of the football in the HL is way above the ML, so unless there are a lot of new good/decent signings pre season I can see City really struggling again. But hey-ho - as ZEKE says "some great new grounds to visit (including Sixways)"!!! Other people are saying it's a easier league? We'll see. Raiders and Pershore aren't going to be easy, but looking forward to them

With everything seemingly stopping as we await the Meeting/Vote on the 24th, I hope things are still being put in place for next season?
A lot of clubs have already sorted friendlies, season tickets...etc
Or is it that nothing can be done until we know if there is a future at all?

I've heard a few Season Ticket holders question whether they'll renew for next season. So we'll see? With recent developments as reported in the media within the last 24 hours I think there is every chance of renewing my season ticket. I think it was maybe more to do with the cost, than the antics on the field, that some were thinking of not renewing? Miss 2 games and you're losing out Whereas Redditch are doing half price tickets and places like Forest Green Rovers are giving the equivilent of 6 free games.

It gives me a massive amount of pleasure to hear that Chris Mitchell lost his seat in last night's local election. Which ward did he lose? St Clements. Got beat by the Greens

I'm surprised that they are not already on sale. It was always important to get fans bought in, and cash flowing through, as early as possible in the past. The pain of this season is still too fresh. They are probably waiting a month or so until we start to forget how bad it was?

There was a grumbling of "not renewing my season ticket" at the last few games. Some because of the woeful football and some because of missing a game or 2 and the discount days of "Non League football day" etc...
With a rebuilding season next year and promotion very unlikely, it will be interesting to see how many do renew?
Bearing this in mind, Redditch UTD have announced season tickets of £123. With a £12 admission price, that's less than half price (£5.86 per game). Plus 2 levels above us. Can we compete with that pricing?
Chairman David Faulkner commented; “Our ambition is to attract those casual fans who may come to 8-10 games a season to buy a full season ticket and attend more matches.

Considering the season from hell, that's not bad at all.
3 times the average of the overall winners (although I'm not sure if the 0 figure has had any impact?)

It has been hard to watch this season. I saw them win once, draw once and score 3 goals in 7 games. Although a season ticket holder I have only seen 7 games for various reasons, latterly because it has been difficult to watch. During that time there have been many players come and go, which cannot help team cohesion. None of the keepers we have had have done much wrong. Roberts, Hartley and RTR have generally contributed most (when I have watched). The central defence has been like watching a car crash, you hold your breath every time. Hopefully with a close season to work on with players selected by the coaching staff things will improve next year. However I feel it is getting to the stage where if performances don't improve significantly next season then attendances will be affected. Having been used to watching a standard that has been in the top 2 tiers of non league for many years I have given this level a go but I am getting more choosy when I go. Like supporters everywhere you want your team to do well, win or at least give hope of better things. I am sure the hierarchy are well aware and doing their best. I've heard a few Season Ticket holders question whether they'll renew for next season. So we'll see?

An application for a 3000 cap at Perdiswell would get planning permision based on winning the appeal for the larger building, this just might stop the locals from objecting.is it worth a try? The locals wouldn't agree to a 300 cap. I'm sure

Pitch Croft is owned by the Council and is leased to Arena Leisure plc. The rugby club used to play in an enclosed ground there so there might be something that could be worth an enquiry to Arena I really can't see this happening. Its used a lot more than Perdiswell for walkers etc. "Spoiling the view" etc. Not just the NIMBYS would be against it and as we know how weak the Council are. Is there precedent for a football stadium in a race course?

Claines Lane will never be a venue suitable for City to rise up the pyramid. Apart from the pinch point at the slope the pitch is dreadful. A decent level of football requires a pitch that does not have such a slope from goal to goal, a much better playing surface, and the potential for more covered accommodation for patrons. The New Lane is never going to deal with these issues. Perdiswell is a great location but has a low probability of happening. So where? One location that has not come up in discussion is Pitchcroft. It has many pluses and obviously a few negatives although I don’t think flooding is necessarily one of them as Bewdley have a ground next to the river and have overcome the issue. Of course there is a lack of infrastructure but that would be much the same for any new ground. Not sure who owns the land but for most of the year it just sits there earning nothing. Access for crowds, parking etc all look good to me . I have no idea what the cost of a simple stadium would be but it could be financially viable with grants, fundraising etc. There is certainly room for expansion. I'm sure that Pitchcroft is owned by the people of Worcester. Some Earl (just Googled, it's Earl Beauchamp) gave it to us in perpetuity. So the council can't restrict access except certain racing days and parts of it for festivals, funfairs etc. So I'm sure building a stadium in the middle of it would be a no go I genuinely can't see anywhere within the boundary of Worcester City being given permission. Unless the council is totally changed to people who would allow Perdiswell. The only other chance is to do a "deal" with the University who could probably get permission to build an abbatoir in Cripplegate Park if they wanted!

Still not sure how the Raiders, Warriors and Wasps are going to co-exist at Sixways? Reading about Wasps, gives no clue as to what is happening? As for a new ground, I would have thought that the only realistic option is outside the City boundary as the Council seem intent on never allowing the club to have a stadium inside the boundary because they are terrified of the NIMBYS Just a thought. Why can't the City groundshare at Sixways as well? If they are going to setup for footy games no reason why they can't play on consecutive days (or even the same day with an early and a late kick off if there is a clash)? It is all weather and would put the facility to some use. Who knows maybe City and Raiders between them may get a 'footy ground' I refrain from the word stadium as it might rattle the cages of NIMBYs. But where in Worcester is available? I can't see how it can work with 4 clubs (including Warriors Women), let alone 5 clubs. Plus anything other than Saturday 3pm has to be agreed with the respective Leagues and have backing of all the other clubs. Not sure that would happen

I see that Raiders are going to stay at Sixways for at lest one more season, so no ground share next season for City. I do however agree with Dodger, that long term City must aim to get a new ground on Perdiswell (or another suitable venue) in/near Worcester, if they want to try and progress up the leagues. However, if they are happy at this level, then Claines Lane is fine. Still not sure how the Raiders, Warriors and Wasps are going to co-exist at Sixways? Reading about Wasps, gives no clue as to what is happening? I preferred that system. Keeps the season open longer. I wpnder if there is a bye for any club that has to play a club that doesn't meet the ground criteria? Also is Step 4 the highest we can go at this ground?

If Raiders coming back to Claines Lane means that the Worcestershire fa have more inclination to improve the ground (steps up to the toilets and more slabs) then I would welcome them. I don't see the FA improving facilities as is. Even with Raiders I don't see this happening. The bank is an accident waiting to happen. I dread to see how the pitch would cope.

Do the Raiders pay ground rent? as I heard they do not. And would they have the funds to rent the "Lane" from W.F.A ? Good point and who owns them?

In answer to your heading, it is possible, but I hope the WFA would have the sense to say no. The pitch wouldn't be able to cope for a start. In answer to your post, I think the writing is very firmly on the wall for football at Sixways. The talk of playing on a Friday is non starter I would have thought, as well?
