Lo and behold Campion has signed for Telford Not sure why we made it quite so easy for him Campion tweeted this afternoon: “Happy to have signed for such a big club as Telford United and buzzing to get the season started.”

I think this is a tough one for Carl and Matt as Campion was their major summer signing. It will presumably free up a good chunk of the wage bill but I can't see it being easy to find new players to bring in just a few weeks into the new season. Perhaps some more loan signings. Campion must surely be heading for Telford. Or he could be heading back to Hednesford now their management team have moved to Telford. Was the reason he left Hednesford the manager?

Worcester City FC have this afternoon agreed to mutually cancel the contract of left back, Darren Campion with immediate effect.
Darren has advised the management team that he is unhappy at the football club and wishes to leave to pursue options elsewhere in football. His honesty is appreciated and there is certainly no gain in keeping players at the club who are unhappy and not enjoying their football. It is expected that he will shortly join a National North rival.

So, Carl Heeley urges his Worcester City players to cut out their red-card shame...... - www.worcesternews.co.uk/sport/wcfc/13614150.Carl_Heeley_urges_his_Worcester_City_players_to_cut_out_their_red_card_shame/But it's just as worrying about the number of yellows received. Whilst we can see (and say) that some of the cautions were for innocuous incidents (generally based on the 'poor' standard of refereeing at this level) some cards were for sheer petulance such as kicking the ball away. The danger is that when the referee's coffee club get together over a latte and bacon roll and discuss how the league is going, the City will be mentioned as being a particularly 'dirty' side based on their disciplinary record and therefore one for referees to watch out for. The slightest weighty tackle could see action being taken by the ref simply because of 'reputation'. After all, how many times does a football commentator say, when Joey Barton gets booked "His reputation goes before him!". If City aren't careful, their reputation will be going before them too. Dodger. I wonder if there is a table for red/yellow cards in this league?

What is happening with the Worcester News feed of games that I rely on? I still get a daily email alert from them titled “ Latest news from St George’s Lane”! You make a good point auldreekie. I also often rely on these updates, and the Worcester News service (especially live feeds) has deteriorated this season. Worcester Observer sometimes has live coverage, but is unpredictable as to which matches. I listened to the game on H&W via the BBC web, they have a lot of non league game on inc the Kiddy game

If this is so critical to City's future, why are so few people actively involved in it? Anyone who is writing on here saying they want to hear what's going on could, if it is so important to them, have taken some time out of their lives to get involved directly with this project. I trust that everyone who is writing comments on here did, at least, write a letter of support for the project to the city council planning department? and attended the Supporters Trust last meeting at New Road. But Creaner says it all, communication is now between the applicant and the city council. That is the latest update, the plans and relevant documentation is with the planners, ongoing communication over matters is taking place between the planners and the applicant. What more can be said? Objections aren't managed on public forums, everyone can go and view the planning portal regardless of whether they support the bid or object to the bid. PPP highlighting public documents on the planning portal is not going to make any difference to the planning process. Some/most of us do not understand the planning laws so cannot help in that dept it should be left to the ones that know what there are doing. We are still supporting the city in other way's. Yes we wrote letters of support and some of us managed to attend the meeting at the cricket ground. My point is that the new season is soon to be upon us and some supporters would like to know how far away we are from getting an update on the application.PPP seem to keep their supporters up to date.I will just add this bit from the council Overall the principle of the scheme is supported, nevertheless as indicated above the siting of the stadium and artificial pitch should better respect the immediate setting of the Canal Conservation Area. These both need to be moved further towards the north-west of the site to achieve this. Without these relevant amendments the proposal is thought to harm the setting and character of the Conservation Area and therefore cannot be supported in its current form. This report was only given to the council on the 16th July,so I suppose the trust need to look at this and see if anything can be amended. Why this is so late in being submitted I don't know. All these things mean the application will take a lot longer than expected and add more frustration to the supporters that want to know WHEN

Why are we having to rely on the Objector's Website for updates? Surely the ST could be communicating progress better? So that is 1) Highways, 2) Sport England, and 3) Conservation Officer objections that will need to either be resolved or a response explaining why they aren't being resolved, prior to a decision being made. Still a bit of work to do. Any communication will be between the applicant and the council. This is the way the application will proceed, not via a message board. If anyone feels this is insufficient I'm sorry but I'd hope with all the hard work that's been put into this you could trust- no pun intended- that we are doing all we can. I know you and your team are working very hard to make this application work, but it would be nice to have some updates now and than, even if it is just to say how things are progressing. We all want the same thing, but we don't want updates from the PPP camp

From the Objectors Web Page. New document on the planning website: Conservation Officer Comments. You may not be surprised to find many of our concerns are shared by this report.
In summary, the report suggests the stadium and 3G pitch are both moved away from the canal nearer the golf course, to prevent harm to the 'setting and character' of the canal conservation area and views across the fields to the Malverns. It "cannot be supported in its current form". This messes up the carefully laid plan to have people exit the mid-point of the main stadium wall in to the car park (though it has been suggested that this was not a particularly safe arrangement in itself).
Would the entire plan be re-drawn to suit these views on conserving the character of the park? We shall see. Nothing here means it cannot be approved. More reports are due in soon. Stay tuned.

VETERAN goalkeeper Jose Veiga will not be returning to Worcester City for pre-season training. The 38-year-old Cape Verde international, who made 32 appearances for City in two years, was out of contract at the Vanarama National League North club. City joint-manager Carl Heeley said Tamworth-based Veiga, who was Nathan Vaughan’s understudy last term, had received an offer from another club.

A positive initiative that, hopefully, will impress the council on the supporters commitment to the local environment etc.. I wonder if any 'objectors' will turn up to help? Dodger. When I last did a litter pick (Feb) Mr Marshall(The Chairman of PPP) turned up to take a photo of the group. It would be nice to see some objectors helping to keep the area tidy, but I doubt it

Your help would be appreciated next Saturday morning, 11th, for an hour. As founder members of the Friends of Perdiswell Group, (which is made up of other user groups of the site), it is our turn to do a litter pick on Perdiswell. We will be meeting at 09.25am prompt on Saturday 11th July on Perdiswell and covering the area in front of the Sports Centre, across the football pitches, alongside the canal and upto the far end behind the golf course - simply go to the Sports Centre and look out for our Gazebo! Worcester City Council will be providing the equipment but we suggest bringing your own gloves just incase they don't have enough! We expect the pick will take about an hour, depending on the amount of help. After the pick we will be doing a mini football coaching session for juniors, so if you would like to stay on for that, please let us know the ages of your children, so we can make provisions (you must take part in the pick to take part in the football session). If you can help please let us know by sending an email to: richwiddowson@worcestercityfc.co.uk or to Rob.crean@wcfcst.co.uk Your help would be greatly appreciated. Count me in

Here is the prices I found, some of the websites are not that user friendly so a couple might not have 15/16 season prices. I've not included family prices and so on, as many don't do them. Some stats (don't hold me to them though!) Adult Match Day: 5 clubs have a more expensive match day price for an adult, 2 have the same price (£13). Adult Season ticket: On usual season ticket prices, 4 are more expensive than ours. It's worth noting that many do not have an early bird offer however, and ours runs for quite a long while (many other clubs have already ended). Our early bird compared to others usual season tickets, has 10 others more expensive. Price to league position, I think it would be fair to expect City to be challenging for play-offs this year, but it's not a fair reflection, due to the stature of other clubs. FC United's matchday price is £9 for and adult or £5 for concessions, something I'd say they can do because they have a large following of upset ManU former fans. I largely think our prices are pretty fair for the league, but the lub need to be careful of future rises, as we'll quickly become a Stockport with a £285 season ticket. Thank you for the information it makes interesting reading

I note that Hereford FC have sold 800 season tickets: 120 sounds really poor to me. Just out of interest I note the adult price of a season ticket is £210 until 30th, then it goes up (15%) to £241.50 (?) from July 1st. And pay on the day is £13. My local side - Chorley FC - have season tickets on sale for £180 - then they go up to £190 from July 1st. And pay on the day is still £10 - (yes just ten quid). Are Citys prices on the high side - or average for this league? I also understand that City have to pay Kiddy over a grand a game to rent their ground, where as Chorley only have to pay that nice Trevor Hemmings (who also owns PNE) a "peppercorn rent. I think we have one of the highest priced season tickets and ground admission prices in this league. It always has been, even when the club owned their ground. It could be a project for someone to find out the prices of clubs in our division

You could message the Directors (all of them) directly, then you could then let us all know the outcome. It would be nice to know the currant situation. YOU could message the Directors, why does it always have to be done by "somebody else" ?? Sorry Brooksider but if YOU want the answers then You must ask the questions, I have no issues with the board at this present time, if I did then I would. Will be getting my season ticket at the reduced rate soon

Unfortunately, you can! and you will! Time will tell. Ask yourself why no AGM has been called? The finances probably look ok. Take a look at the bigger picture and get out of match day mode. You could message the Directors (all of them) directly, then you could then let us all know the outcome. It would be nice to know the currant situation.

I will not buy my season ticket until we see some transparency from the club, they've been saying that there will be an AGM for months, and it hasnt happened. I know of quite a number of shareholders who are doing the same. So it might cost us 40 quid in the long run? big deal, I'd like to see where 2.5 million has gone before I invest any money upfront in the company. I should imagine that after paying the Harriers £50,000 over 3 season and then the players wages ,any remaining money we be used to build a new stadium if successful in their application. As a City supporter not "investing" in the club it seems a strange thing to do , as every season ticket bought will help the club survive

Top player if he's not fat after a couple of seasons in non-league. Has a habit of coming back for pre-season a little over weight. He should boss this league. Nobody will beat him in the air.
