I read about this with horror: but on reflection I feel a little more sanguine about it. What worries me, as Ealing says, is that folk want success, and the younger element know nothing about the history behind City. If they can go to a decent ground, have a decent seat and a pint or two, they won't be worried what colour they play in, what name they are.
It's up to us to go forward now, in most uncertain times. As always I prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Still no word on Liam Lockett then?

Thanks for the update: the one I'm waiting for most anxiously is Liam Lockett - a star of the future.

I think that's a bit out of date now isn't it? I also read Chris Withington, Aaron Roberts and Dan Okoje had signed.

Just seen a couple of pictures of progress at Claines Lane: good to see that there IS some progress.
In the text it mentions "the 3G pitch": is that for matches or simply a training pitch? I don't remember any commitment as to the playing surface being 3G, although I'd be delighted if that is now the case.

I'm afraid to post on here now lest my comments offend: there is a whole phalanx of people in today's society just waiting to be offended.
I'll stick to posting on football, whenever that might re-appear.

I'm all in favour of greater equality of wealth, it's just how you achieve it that matters. I fail to see why, for instance, a train driver gets £40k while a nurse gets what? Half of that?
There's always been poor and rich: always will be I expect.
However, the benefits system, for example, was created as a safety net - not a lifestyle choice, and it hurts that some people think it IS a lifestyle choice. I have never envied anyone their wealth if they worked for it. I started with nowt, made what little wealth I possess by my own efforts, and am not ashamed of it. The kids who fool around at school, despise others who do work, but then want the same lifestyle, well they make me sick.
Inherited wealth - well, that's another matter: but if you create wealth and then the grim reaper beckons, if you have children who else would you leave it to?

As soon as I read the word "elites" I know that the poster is convinced there is a conspiracy out there waiting to be discovered. A lot of left-wing stuff that's spouted is just wealth-envy.
Now I've strayed off subject! Damn.

I didn't think it was fun: personal mud-slinging of the sort that was being thrown around was quite nasty.

I soon as I read the words "elites" I know this comes from an extreme left-winger, who usually have a distorted and deeply pessimistic view of the world. I'll read thro' it later, but I wouldn't worry too much about it.

If the season is decided on points per game I did the sums and the final table would look indicate that Coventry United would be champions and the top two places would look like this:-
POS P W D L F A GD PTS PPG 1 Coventry United 29 19 5 5 60 31 29 62 2.138 2 Sporting Khalsa 26 18 1 7 66 27 39 55 2.115
These two teams were first and second anyway when the season went into hibernation. City would finish in 11th on 1.385 PPG.
The bottom two teams would be as below, and they were the bottom two teams anyway, so like 1st and 2nd that would be fair.
19 Gresley 26 3 7 16 29 51 -22 16 0.615 20 Selston 25 2 7 16 29 67 -38 13 0.520

What's going to happen to the season now? I reckon it'll be scrapped; in which case surely PPG (Points per game) has to be the answer to promotion and relegation issues.
It's really unfortunate for Halesowen in the Trophy: perhaps they could play the remaining Trophy/Vase games as a pre-season competition?
PS : I've just noticed that the MFL shows fixtures re-commencing on 4th April. Surely that's been overtaken by events?

The weather-inspired postponements of the last few weeks point ever more to the need for a 3G pitch. Look how Malvern must be earning money by renting their pitch out.
I've witnessed matches at Claines Lane and I fear the worst with two teams playing on that surface: just look how many postponements Raiders have had - and that's with only one team playing on it.

The last player to go from us to Hereford was surely Symmo? At the time it was a step down - later a step up!

I sponsored Demetri, without having seen him play, and felt that with his performances in a blue and white shirt he more than justified my (blind) faith.
I am very sorry to see him go, but quite understand, and really hope that he succeeds at Hereford. I haven't forgotten the toasting he gave the Coventry United full-back in that Vase replay.
He's big, strong and quick and was just what we needed up front. My only question mark would be over his fitness: he seems to have had a lot of problems with that thigh.

They obviously do have a problem with a few hardcore nuts: let's hope for their sake they sort it out. If there's trouble when they play Consett what will the FA do then?

It was a great disappointment, and for my money even more disappointing was the fact that they were the better side.
However we did create - and waste - some great chances; had Brain passed to Lockett and not tried to do it all himself we might easily have won.
Que sera, sera!

Perhaps I am being a "dismal Johnny" but isn't Wednesday's game already in doubt? We've had an awful lot of rain in the last 48 hours. If it was off would that mean we have to hold the replay next Saturday? (When we're due to be at home anyway.)

Couldn't get to the game, so it was great to have radio commentary; it sounded like we ground out a very hard-earned replay. Perfect result for me as I hope to get to the replay, and of course by then we'll know the draw.
Hopefully we can keep eleven players on the pitch in the replay; assume Mewies is suspended for that?

He would struggle in today's climate I fear: he'd be red-carded every other game. He was a real bull-at-a-gate type of player. I shall remember him fondly and his goals in the two titanic matches against Millwall and Liverpool.
A true legend, but John Inglis must come near him surely?

What a cracking win - and having to come back from a goal down as well. Really upped our game for this one. Was getting anxious when Coventry had their best spell towards the end, but we defended for our lives and fully deserved the win. Let's have more like this!
