Two ex-City keepers between the sticks for Stockport County I notice: Ben Hinchliffe is warming the bench and Ethan Ross seems to be first choice now.

With the pandemic, truncated seasons and my wife's condition I reckon it's been two years since I last managed to get to a game: I was amazed how much has been done to the ground in that time, with our posh new clubhouse and bar. All it needs now is a nice stand down one side and it'll feel like home.
I was also impressed by what I saw on the pitch: the first 20 minutes I thought we were going to struggle with this one, but I needn't have worried, we saw it out, began to settle and basically outplayed them second half. Young, fit, purposeful, splendid football - what's not to like. My youngest grandson came, with some hesitance, but now has a new hero - Bailey Fuller. Only cloud on the horizon is the form of the top two - Hanley Town and Lichfield City: they keep on winning too.
Another couple of players to impress were Billy Shaw and Sam Hall, the latter being like a rock at the back. But they all put in a shift, and the fact we could do this with some of the bigger names missing gives me some confidence in the future. If I can find a regular "sitter" to be with my wife you'll see me more often. C'mon City!

Why is Roberts not available for the Vase game? He hasn't played for another club in the Vase this season surely?

Didn't we have some good players eh? Another who scored on Saturday was Colby Bishop for Accrington.

They won 5-1 in the previous round, so - as you say - a hard game to come.

What happened to our first Summer signing - Ezewele? I thought he was going to be the rock around which the defence was built. His name hasn't even been mentioned of late: is he injured? Or has he joined Lockett and Jezeph in going elsewhere in pursuit of better football.
I can't attend at the moment, owing to my wife's dementia, but I have to say it doesn't seem as if I'm missing much, and - more to the point - I'm gradually losing interest.

According to a message I received via Facebook or Twitter there will be no replays in either the FA Vase or FA Trophy: not sure about the FA Cup.

I see that we have been drawn away to this team in the extra-preliminary round, due to be played August 7th. If memory serves me right there are no replays in the qualifying rounds and presumably, if level at 90 minutes, the game goes to extra-time and then the dreaded penalty shoot-out. Or does it go straight to penalties at 90 minutes? Anybody know for sure?

Having paid for a season ticket which I can't use (problems with my wife's condition) I don't feel like donating when I do watch the livestream: I hope that's all right.

There goes one of our brightest prospects: gone to Alvechurch.
It has been obvious this season his heart wasn't in it and I guess a player of that calibre was always going to aim higher.
Thanks for some magic moments Locko.

Agree wholehearedly with jupu's comments about Lockett: why on earth isn't he playing?
As for Ashley, well I think it was time he went. Thanks to him and Marlon for their efforts: they tried their best, but their best wasn't good enough.

Still, the winner was worthy of winning any game: a "Ronnie Radford" type of goal. But how we conceded that in the final 10 minutes I'll never know!

Or might it just be that we do not have sufficient quality players?
Or are we simply playing too complicated football for this mainly hoof-ball league?

Having bought a season ticket in great expectation I find that I'm not going to be attending matches this season: I guess I'll just have to regard the purchase as a donation to the club's coffers.
My wife's Alzheimer's is progressing and I cannot leave her alone to attend matches: if I hire a carer for the afternoon or evening that's £70 just to attend a game.
So, although I'll still be following City I'm afraid it'll have to be via Twitter, the live feed while that persists or the Worcester News rolling text commentary.
So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye!

I'm a bit confused where I stand with getting in: I've purchased a season ticket, but have to collect it on the night. Do I assume then that I will be OK to get in using my new season ticket? Or do I have to purchase another ticket specifically for the match?

I have to say I was desperately disappointed in the result, but perhaps I had set my sights too high. By the sound of the report in the NLP the better team won. If memory serves me right weren't Newark (I think they've dropped the Flowserve bit) top of the league when it was abandoned?
We had a tough game against them at Bromsgrove, and although we won I thought they looked a good side without any pre-season signings since.

I noticed that neither Connor Mooney or Luke English featured in the squad: was that selection or were they just on holiday I wonder. I thought Luke was one of our best players last season.
