That would be Andy Bullock. He was still attending home games for much of last season but, like many others, lost enthusiasm. I haven't seen him this season. Did you want to get in touch with him?

Great to get that first win, although in truth the opposition had chances to score too and at least one strong penalty claim denied. Some decent performances all round though and an entertaining game.

That's a fair summary. Hard to know if we aren't very good or whether we came up against strong opposition. But in truth Newark could have got 2 or 3 more had it not been for some great saves from Cann.
The last time we conceded 4 in our opening league game was 1966, when we lost 3-4 at Bath City.

That is correct, why the question mark?

I agree, the cost of a City season ticket for fans of WCCC / Warriors / Worcester Wolves is surely the cost of their team's season ticket plus £95?

First game I’ve got to because couldn’t make last week, absolute car crash! Balders who everyone said was Sunday league has put our deference into retirement and looked twice the player of any of our players. Gwynne looking like a prime casillas when we have a keeper kicking one as far as my 3 year old! They’re lad who’s scored from the half way line is as good as nath Brad and Birls who could turn up after a week all inclusive in Benidorm and still walk into this team! Beaten by a Sunday league team who I’d have over this years squad every day of the week, tempted for a season ticket at pershore right now! Vincent was not the right man for the job as simple as that! Why is Vincent not the right man for the job? Who is the right man?

Have Sinclair and Attoumani come back for pre-season?

I guess they are doing this so they can tell their 500 members about it first. If they are genuine in communicating with the wider public they will follow this meeting up with an open session for all.

That's sad news, my sympathies. Hope you don't mind me asking but what's his name? 60 plus years is a fantastic achievement and something to be proud of.

I would imagine that our overall mileage next season will be pretty much the same as this. If we get promoted to step 4 it will be a lot more!
We last played Gresley's predecessors in 1998/99. We played RC Warwick in 97/98 season and Haughmond were in our division last season.
Always enjoy visiting new clubs playing at small venues that are part of their local community.

Good point as one of those games will be FA Cup. I note we've lost Matt Gwynne. Baldwin and Lemon have also decided to go elsewhere.

I think we needed a change, but this doesn't feel like much of a change at all, appointing Ash. Was anyone else even interviewed? We haven't actually appointed a 'new' manager since...who was it...probably Richard Dryden back at the Lane. Since Phil Lines left in 1991/92 Richard Dryden is the only person appointed as manager who hasn't previously played for or managed City.

Well, we shall see, but we need a rebuild too. Hard to believe we will be competing with Halesowen to retain players who were good enough to finish 11th in the MFL.

Do you really believe we had players at the end of last season - Locko apart - who are good enough to play at Halesowen's level? Reynolds might fancy his chances but where he plies his trade next season is wide open anyway.
Snapper has worked his socks off to keep us going through a difficult period. We should be grateful for that. The Board were happy to stick by him but I think Paul Smith at Halesowen has done us a favour by forcing change on us.
Ash has had 12 months to learn the ropes at this level and hopefully his appointment will help to rejuvenate us on the field and off.

Any of the above could happen, but equally they might not. Total speculation. All that we can say is that we need to bring in new players and that even if someone commits to playing for us today they could quite easily go somewhere else if they get a better offer.

The truth of the matter,as far as I am concerned, is that watching City,at Bromsgrove at the level they are is not an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.I don't get much free time so I like to use it as wisely as I can.I am sure I am not alone in this. Did go today and it was an utterly soul destroying afternoon. I wish time is tight wasn't played as it immediately transports me back to the Lane and makes me feel worse than ever!!! Oxford - at the start of last season you told us the standard of football at this level was awful and I disagreed with you. When we had the likes of Hughes, Hayward, Birch we sometimes played decent stuff. This season it's been poor most of the time, so ultimately you have been proved right.

Raiders appear to be claiming they've won the league today, have they been given the points from that abandoned game where they kicked off then? What's that got to do with the price of fish?

Yes, a better performance today, although it was against a team that's already relegated. Their keeper kept them in the game with some fine saves - with both hands and feet - but if the objective was to move on from Wednesday night, it was achieved. Not that anyone should get too carried away, as our frailties were still evident.

That's a well thought out post and much of what you say I agree with. Up to the management to decide who gets invited back next season, but it's not like in the CN when players would be offered new contracts over the summer. As we saw last year, at this level it's easy for players to commit and then change their mind and go off elsewhere.

Sorry but I disagree, mid-table is not acceptable. In a 20 team division we're not even halfway.
Are you suggesting that every club above us in the table is better off financially and our position is what supporters should expect for the foreseeable future?
If so then the 350 core support will start to dwindle.
We pay £8 to watch City at home and for most home games this season it's not been worth the money. We should at least expect to be entertained and just four home wins in the league all season - moreover just one in six months - is not acceptable in my book.
I acknowledge that this season was about regrouping and starting to establish a new way forward. But there has been precious little evidence of progress on the field apart from Liam Lockett establishing himself as a quality player who should be in a higher league.
If we had to go backwards in order to go forward let's hope the backwards part is now coming to a close. Hopefully establishing a new squad for next season - and I think wholesale changes are required - will generate some much needed optimism.

Well it wasn't pretty, it wasn't a great performance but we've won a trophy! Credit to Dave Reynolds for scoring two goals on his return as well as slotting home his penalty in the shootout. Some other really well taken penalties by both teams - I don't think either keeper got a touch on any of them.
By the way City Reserves won the Urn in 2006, beating Lye Town 2-0 in the final at Aggborough. City boss Andy Preece fielded a number of first team players in that game as several of the reserves were ineligible having already played in the Senior Cup the same season.

This current squad has dragged us down to 12th and has won just twice in 10 matches. We are only where we are thanks to that unbeaten run back in the Autumn, which was achieved with a different combination of players. Personally I wouldn't miss any of them except Liam Lockett and Jamie Smith, and I think we'll struggle to keep hold of Liam over the summer.

Worcester fans got attacked? What was that all about? Using the language described isn't "banter" by the way. It shouldn't be tolerated. Why on earth should it be expected?

The Worcester City civic crest appeared on the programme cover in the 70s and 80s but it wasn't our club badge.
A badge appeared on the shirt in 88/89 season. The current design appeared in 91/2 or 92/3 - it's an adaptation of the civic crest.
We wore a shirt badge with the civic crest on in 75/6 season and also in the mid 50s, but that's all up to 88/89.
There has never been WCFC badge that doesn't look like the civic crest as far as I know.

The club badge is so dated now, its probably as old as the club....Julian? Not so old - dates from 1991.
