I think it is also fair to say that this forum ...and it is a means for communication between supporters of the Club...is a forum where the malcontents are in the vast majority. It is important that those who express alternative views are not shouted down but are read and responded to thoughtfully.
I do reject utterly TM’s comments about Hollywood, derision, hatred and scorn. The responses here are, in the main, comments on the actions of those whose duty it is to act in the best interests of stakeholders in our footie club. Where we agree or disagree this is a platform to express those views nothing more nothing less.
As Always says it has been nine years since Hampson was put in place by the former directors and we are still waiting for Board to produce anything like a realistic and viable plan that has even half a chance of delivering a rosier future for the Club. How long must we wait? If the Directors have any serious and thought through proposals that can take us from where we are to where we really want to be that are superior to the current options let us have them. Let’s have some detail and an action and resource plan and some sort of delivery timetable so that we can see that progress is possible. It takes more that a few photocopied sheets of paper or a few platitudes delivered to the local press that’s for sure.

I think Tim is absolutely correct to raise the issues about the ground and the level of connection between the Trust and the rest of the supporters. I do object to being labelled a troll though !
Having supported City since 1972 I no longer attend matches and haven’t done since the 2008 EGM for reasons that have been aired on this board numerous times and continue to be the basis for the disconnect between a lot of supporters and the Club. I am not a member of the Trust any longer through sheer laziness but I am ready to rejoin when there is something concrete that might benefit from my input whether that be fiscal or physical.
So where are we? I think the 800 who turned up at Claines for a meaningless pre season friendly would vote to bring City home and it is pretty obviously pointless having a Worcester FC that plays in exile as over time the most important connection that a club has , that with its local fan base, will wither and die. I suspect that the official attendance is already boosted by locals who do not support City but just like to watch a game on a Saturday plus a number of away team fans. To quote 12% is rather simplistic.
So if we agree that the Club needs to come home what are th,e options? We are not far off 5 years in exile and the Directors have delivered NOTHING in terms of getting the Club home. That is not what supporters want or deserve. The Directors have shown no initiative, drive or skill that leads anyone to believe this situation will suddenly change. Leopards/spots you know what I mean. All they deliver is meaningless hot air from time to time when what is needed is a strategy and a plan of action.
So the City Council identifies a suitable site for the Club at Perdiswell. The only body prepared to accept with full commitment the invitation to prepare and submit a costly planning application is the Trust in the belief that it is a massive step forward in helping City get back to Worcester. The Directors tag along with the plan (joint applicants). The application is finally heard after many many process delays and is supported by the Chief Planning Officer. So we know the ground is in the best available location. Then Councillors vote it down as they are entitled to do but quite rightly an appeal is to be made.
What does the Board do in response to this? They should back the appeal of course as it is route 1 back the City. But hold on. The Directors know that the Club as constituted simply does not have and cannot raise the money to build Perdiswell without sacrificing their control of the Club which, no matter what else, they do not want to do. Only the Trust with its remit for true community ownership of the Club has the model that may permit the necessary funding to deliver Perdiswell and deliver what the supporters and the future of the Club needs.
From the outside this is the best option to bring City home soonest. I don’t see that the Trust has anything other than the best interests of supporters at heart and it is a truly democratic body. If there were supporters who felt strongly that some other course of action was better or right then they are very quiet.
I accept that Perdiswell is a long way from delivery but it is light years closer than some distant black hole near the Motorway that is unlikely ever to receive planning consent and even if it did it would be unviable for the same reasons that Nunnery Way was unviable as a football stadium site. The most laughable comment so far on the subject has been that City will actually be playing there at the start of the season after next. If that does not prove that Directors have no clue and no desire to do the right thing for Club and fans then I don’t know what does.
If Perdiswell falls at appeal it falls. If it succeeds there is a possibility of City actually coming home before we all shuffle off this mortal coil.
In short the Trust is acting in accordance with the wishes of the fan base as far as we can know and is definitely doing the right thing to secure the future of the Club we love.

It’s a straightforward case of get rid soonest. No matter what my view on the way the Club is run I am certain that none of the Board wish the club to be associated with anything like this. Let’s hope they act with good sense as they did in the case of fan ban imposed recently.

Dolly could probably have whacked one across the river if he was using a modern bat (and had he allowed himself to play across the line).
As cities go Worcester is pretty good but when you don’t live there and arrive by train you are greeted by two clapped out almost dilapidated stations that throw you straight back into the 1940s. Not a very welcoming start to a trip to the city. The walk from Foregate street towards the cathedral is pretty depressing and not much is made of the Guildhall. You could easily miss it. As for crossing the roads on that route it’s a bit of a lottery. Why not simply close the whole to traffic and install a nice green walk down the middle to take you to Eddie Elgar. It would improve the experience for visitors and locals no end as would two rebuilt stations.

Sam Bowen got sacked by John Barton for a red card elbow in a cup tie. Discipline in this team is deplorable. Have lost count of the red cards now. The only red card that is needed is for “Yourstuckwithme” 😊

Is it possible for a duck to be dead if it was never alive? Apparently so as twitchers have seen some at a place called Arsonage Way (what you didn't realise the Chairman has taken the P?) but alas they were scared off by a flight of pigs who were previously roosting at a nearby Nunnery so sadly there are no photographs available.

Oh and btw Jimbo I d join you at Pitchcroft and put my tenner in the bucket too. At least we could walk to the ground and have a couple of ales before the match without worrying about driving after. I reckon we d get more than 300 too. I don't think the time is right yet though. I think we need to wait for the Perdiswell planning application to be determined and if that is positive but there is no genuine positive action from the limited company that offers a realistic and viable plan to secure the future of City FC for future generations to enjoy then it would be the right time to start seriously planning for the formation of Worcester St George FC and prepare to slay a rather ineffectual and puny dragon.

One might teej one very well might.
As for the recent posts. Well done to Who?, rich and creaner for sticking with it through thin and thinner. To me it is obvious that the Chairman is pursuing a policy of divide and rule. Saying one thing and doing another ..in fact anything that prolongs his tenure as a truly unelected representative of no one except those whose pull his apron strings.
So just remember not to play his game ...which is certainly not soccer..and stay true to the aims and objectives espoused by the trust and so helpfully explained in this thread.
Forza Creaner & co !!!

Without change at the top and a rapid transition to a fan owned club then imo the club as it exists will not be saved. The best and, importantly, the fastest route to saving it is revolution not this lingering decline. Whilst I appreciate loyalty there are two paths to tread here. One for the benefit of the many and one for the very very few. Change has a good chance of revitalising the club and bringing it home. The other path simply can not achieve this. It's a dead end.

Still haemorrhaging cash at this level so a promotion might indicate higher costs, little improvement in the standard of football and attendances at pretty much where they are plus a bit. Why wouldn't anyone not wish to dig into their hard earned to give extra support to prop this up. It's a no brainer surely. You would have to have no brain to do it. There are plenty of better causes to support!
As for the Trust providing funds then that might be possible if the concerns so frequently expressed in this forum were addressed by the Board. If these are not acted upon then I would hope there is no way a single penny would pass.

But still, 41 is hardly representative of the supporters. It's over 20% of the last home gate which is pretty good for a totally non controversial matter. Were that Man U that would be the equivalent of over 15,000 people. It would be better if the Directors decided to represent the supporters by actually participating positively in establishing a viable credible plan for the future. Then again thinking about it who would want the current Board to participate in anything connected with the Club?

It used to be quite common to select auditors who were not local. The idea being that any loose tongues would not wag in the local area. Not that professional auditors would ever talk about their clients affairs in any event...but as we know not all auditors maintain the highest standards.

So to sum that up
1. I only pipe up when I need to throw in a spoiler 2. I have frittered away nearly all the money from the ground sale but please trust me with more cash 3. I have done nothing to raise funds for a new ground in the near decade since I became Chairman 4. I have alienated the majority of shareholders so I have to appeal to a dwindling band of season ticket holders for the money 5. I refuse to transparently account to the owners of the company that runs the club 6. I have no substantive workable plan for the future but I ask you to support it anyway 7. I will issue a separate statement designed to alienate the Clubs keenest fans 8. I am proud of leading the club into a deep hole and I vow to keep on digging 9. You are stuck with me

Could have held it in a pub with such a low turnout, and put the venue hire towards the new ground Alternatively the Directors could have avoided wasting the proceeds of the sale of St George's Lane and put the cash towards the new ground. Interesting that you mention a pub. The quality of decision making by the Board might tend to suggest that most of their meetings have been held in a pub with conclusions reached near closing time after a jolly good sup! This Board would be hard put to manage a pub team let alone the top footballing representatives of our fine City.

You still have to admit though 41 is a poor turnout Not as poor as the massive decline in attendances at home matches presided over by the current board nor the massive decline in playing standards er presided over by the Club board and it is 41 more than have attended any general meeting of shareholders this year.

I notice that the population of Iceland is around 334,000, compared to 569,000 in Worcestershire. Surely this is proof that an independent nation of Worcestershire would easily qualify for the World Cup? Well no. The difference is that the Icelandic governments, national and local, decided to build sport facilities all over the place, including full size indoor football pitches for the winter, in what we shall call SPORTS HUBS. They then got a shed load of people trained up to be fully qualified coaches, at the top level of whatever sport they were involved in, and hey presto. In summary, they built it, they came, and pretty quickly they conquered. Another consequence is that childhood obesity is not much of a problem. It does highlight the misuse of money in football in the UK. The Premier League TV rights deal generates a vast sum for footy but where does it go? Simply into the pockets of players and agents and overseas in vastly hugely grossly inflated transfer fees to clubs who must love our stupid owners and laugh at them at the same time. I doubt that even 5% of these huge revenues find their way into investment in the future of the sport and most of what is spent is on luxury facilities for the elite. The trend is clear. Unless the FA changes its focus there will be no elite to use these facilities ere long. You only have to look at the quality ,or lack of it, of the 50 England qualified players regularly appearing in our own national league to realise that whatever the FA is doing isn't working. What is needed is a much broader base with vastly improved participation from junior level upwards. That can only come from a huge improvement in the quality and quantity of community sports grounds and an environment that encourages an inclusive appeal across our populace. The money is there ..it is just used appallingly.

A meeting of members. A discussion on vital issues. A free vote with no unverified proxies. Honest and open views from the Board and a clear strategy. That is the integrity of WCFCST.
Compare and contrast with..
No meeting of members. No discussion on any issues. No opportunity to vote. The lack of independent scrutiny to confirm the veracity of proxy votes. The total lack of any realistic plan. A complete absence of transparency. A failure to account to shareholders on where their money has been used. That is the quality of governance at WCFC Limited.
41 - 0 is the best result the supporters of Worcester City have seen for a long long time.

I am tempted to ask where the other few percent of you will be whilst the rest of you is at the match but I won't.
I suspect you are not alone by being a little fascinated by the new level the team are playing and once the novelty wears off then attendances will fall off further.

I think the chances of a written response to an email are zero but I think VoT you should continue to press for such a response or for reasons why the Directors are unable or unwilling to provide one?
Have you managed to speak to the Chairman? No? Thought not. In any event what is the use of such a conversation unless it is recorded (not sure if that is legal without the consent of all parties involved?) and can be published verbatim?
The chances of matter escaping a black hole are zilch. 😊

Absolutely. Apart any costs of and imposed by planning consent the cost would probably double for a green field site with floodlighting, services, site clearance, groundworks, car parking, social club / bar, access roads etc etc.
