Wow, there’s not really any way to defend that. Why alienate even more of your supporters with that kind of talk? Hampson needs to consult someone when it comes to PR, he’s no good at it.

CLUB chairman Anthony Hampson has issued an ultimatum to Worcester City’s supporters’ trust – get behind the club or go your own way.

Trust members are meeting tomorrow to discuss appealing Worcester City Council’s double rejection of proposals for a new ground at Perdiswell, decisions reached in spite of planning officers supporting the bid.

Hampson insists the project is a dead duck with no prospect of the land being leased for football even if the trust does succeed in its appeal.

Last month, the club distanced itself from the ongoing Perdiswell battle in order to pursue the development of Parsonage Way, a venture that has received initial support from city councillors but concerns from Warndon Parish Council.

Put to him that sections of the fan base would be fundamentally opposed to turning their back on Perdiswell, supporting the club's board or both, Hampson said: “They have to put that behind them now.

“They have to get behind the club and if they don’t want to do that they need to decide to form their own phoenix club or whatever they want to do.

“We need active support now and that’s what we’re hoping to get from the fans. There has been too much of this unpleasantness going on.

City’s board and representatives from the Worcestershire FA have been invited to the otherwise members-only trust gathering at The Warndon Community Hub (7.45) but Hampson believes pushing for Perdiswell is “prolonging the absence of the club from the city of Worcester”.

Okay, lets be very clear here. At no point, at any time, has the Supporters Trust tried to pull the Parsonage Way project apart. That is simply a lie, a distortion of the truth, a statement without fact. And the reason for that is also very clear...... the Supporters Trust know nothing about Parsonage Way, there is nothing to pull apart. 

The Supporters Trust have tried continually to work together with the club Board, we have been totally transparent at all time with regards to Perdiswell, we have compromised in terms of timelines to respect the wishes of the Board , we have incorporated the Boards comments into the Business Plan, we have been open to ANY and EVERY suggestion for an alternative for Perdiswell. The Supporters Trust , along with the club Board were active in the Working Group put together by the City Council last year, in fact we were the most active party looking to find alternatives. At no point have the Supporters Trust been in any way disruptive towards the activities of the club Board, because at no time have the Supporters Trust been made aware of the activities of the clubs Board. They simply won't speak to us, the Chairman even puts the phone down when Trust Board members attempt to speak to him. What more can the Supporters Trust do? 

With regards to the land at Perdiswell, the Trust have NEVER been told by the City Council that the land will not be made available, and the Supporters Trust have NEVER asked for the land to be made available. This is a process which would take place through the Community Asset Transfer scheme run by the City Council, and a decision made on the viability and sustainability of a community project. 

The Supporters Trust have asked continually for the club Board to clarify whatever might be happening at Parsonage Way, but to date, we know no more than every other fan. Even the shareholders know nothing about Parsonage Way. Is there even a plan there? 

Hampson is incorrect to call the Supporters Trust "naysayers" , as we have never said "nay" as we , like everyone else, have nothing to say "nay" to. 

These comments by the club Chairman are both incorrect, and also unnecessary, and do nothing whatsoever to get supporters behind him and his Board. Maybe instead of lobbing grenades from behind the barricades that he has built around himself, he would be better off by being positive himself about Parsonage Way, and showing us all what it is all about, and why we should be getting behind it.

This shows exactly what Parsonage Way really is - namely a smokescreen behind which the board can divide; confuse and purloin.

I hope this persuades some of the supporters who believe that they are keeping WCFC alive by helping these shambolic, shifty, liars to think again. This statement illustrates the deceit that constitutes Hampson and co.

Exactly! We've always been very clear, we have not made any negative comments regarding Parsonage Way, we believe it to be Pie in the Sky, simply because no-one from the club, or the city council, has told us otherwise. The club will have their own team in place, probably have done for many months, beavering away on producing the plans, and a viable business plan, that's always been there prerogative.
I get the feeling that Hampson actually wants us to start making negative comments, but its not going to happen, there is nothing to be negative about, how can you be a "naysayer" when there's nothing to "naysay" ??
Its no different to the Supporters Trust working on Perdiswell, we presented all of our plans and we had people come on board, and provided literally hundreds of thousands of pounds in services for free, because they believed in the project and wanted to come on board. I'm sure Hampson has already found the same resources for PW.
He doesn't need the Supporters Trust to get behind whatever it is, but of course, once it is presented and is seen as a viable, sustainable and affordable solution, then we will be the first to congratulate Hampson & co on delivering to plan.
