This is beginning to sound like backstabbing now that he has gone. It might or might not be true but "someone told me" is hardly authoritative, is it? It's not back stabbing at all. I have no issues with Andy Preece. I am merely passing on something which was said to me a few months back by someone who has shown to me that he seems to have some knowledge of things going on at the club. The same person who told me Mark Owen had been sold (and I posted on this message board) 24hrs before it became widely known.

Someone told me months ago that Preecey applied for 'every decent job that came up north of Worcester'.

I spoke to Paul Wyatt in the summer. He told me he was going to be on the City books once he had recovered from a minor injury. That was about three months ago so I assume he has now recovered and will be the man between the sticks.

Well done to the team yesterday for a hard earned three points. The winning goal was an absolute corker.
There's no way they should have had a penalty as Patrice clearly got the ball before any contact with the player.
Rapinder Gill looked far from comfortable when he came on if you ask me - lack of match practice maybe. A bad error by him letting them through for the incident which led to the penalty.
I'll give my vote for MOM to Craig who worked tirelessly all afternoon.
Very disappointing display by Peter Doran who has not really performed well since his first game for us IMHO.

Not for a while yet, thank god.
I have a scan tomorrow on a knee injury picked up playing football and I need plenty of time to recover and regain match fitness ;)in time!
Seriously though, I think it is likely to be the New Year before anything is sorted with regard to BM6.

Wonder how they will re-route the electricity pylons? On several of the plans of the site that I have seen, the pylons are still there so I think they are going to build around them. I know that an enquiry was made regarding the diversion of the line or its replacement with underground cable but the cost of such work, particularly the latter option may be prohibitive in this instance.

I may be jumping the gun a bit to say this now as more info may come out shortly, but were we not meant to be given an indication of the timescale for the development at this press conference.
I know it is early days and the planning application may be subject to debate and alterations but it would be nice to have at least an estimate like 'if things go through as expected, we hope to kick off the XXXX/XXXX season in the new stadium.'

Soupy you are not wrong! I thought I had woken up in 1998 this morning too. Seriously though, I really hope that this is not another false dawn and then we have some concrete (excuse the terrible pub) news on the ground relocation at long last. Dave, might this spell your return to the Lane as a supporter?

Yes, a bit disappointing. We resorted to 'hoof it and hope'. On the rare occasions we got the ball down and passed it, we made real inroads into the opposition hallf.
Difficult to pick a man of the match out of that but I would probably go for Patrice Liburd who gave a solid performance. It's not fair to pick out particularly poor performers so I won't do that - let's just say it was genarally 'a bad day at the office!'
Alison - did you notice that Mr Allardyce got just what you wanted him to get?

I am well known at my workplace as being a City supporter and season ticket holder. I can certainly say that there most definitely IS interest in the club and the progress (or lack of it) that the team is making as several work colleagues and friends outside of work ask me about this when I meet them.
From what they say to me, there is no doubt in my mind that with a little bit of visible improvement in the club's fortunes be that by consistently turning in better performances or by finally hearing some concrete (no pun intended) news on the new ground more people will come through the turnstiles on a Saturday afternoon. Call them 'Glory Hunters' if you like - personally I don't care when they come so long as they come and hopefully enjoy what they see. And if anyone in a Warriors shirt asks me the way to the loo, I will gladly tell him - politely.
I'm sorry I am not able to post a smart idea on how to achieve the required turn around in the club's fortunes I am simply posting my observation on the matter from my own experiences.

[quote author=jeremypitt board=wcfctalkunofficially thread=1188818191 post=1189079038 What we don't seem to see are groups of 12-16 year olds down the Lane, maybe its just a sign of the times that there are more diverse things for them to do, and that does include going to Sixways.[/quote]
We were getting a group of kids of around that age last season but one or two people on this message board complained about their presence because they made a little too much noise with their drum!!

Just caught up with this here in my hotel in Spain. Very disappointing start to the season.
If we have aspirations of gaining at least a play off place, we need to be beating the newly promoted teams. let me make it clear right now that I AM NOT CALLING FOR THE SACK OF THE MANAGER but if things do not improve AP could find himself looking for a new job by Christmas.

I have a concern that with no goalkeeping cover, Danny Mac could make a "Howler" like the first goal every week and still keep his place. It appears that his position is guaranteed all season. I appreciate that he made some good saves, but only after the damage had been done. A bit of healthy competition for the goalkeeping jersey may be needed. Paul Wyatt will be signing for City in due course.

I counted 3 stockport fans, one who bore a remarkable resemblence to jesus. Never met Jesus myself so I can't comment on that. Their centre back did look rather like Spurs' Tom Huddlestone though! Thought we did well especially Adam Burley early on. He looked confident and comfortable on the ball - pity about the rather rash challenge in the second half which on another day could well have seen him red-carded. My first look at the new signings and I thought Rapinder Gill looked good although he did get spoken to about leading with his elbow when jumping for a header in the second half. As far as I am concerned the jury is out on the other two.

Sure lots of flooding in the area recently but St Georges Lane is well off the flood plain of the Severn. As I said, I have not been to a game so far this pre-season but on photo's the pitch looks good.
