I think the point needs to made that there should be a thought process so that there is no repeat and a chance for something to go wrong.
I am sure that there is a reason why Webby and Danny were allowed to appear other than to make it XI a side but I can't think of a good one. Clearly a player doesn't need to play or train to get injured and miss a key match (just ask Kevin Beattie for one) but unnecessary exposure to risk of injury at any time strikes me as odd let alone at this time of the season.
My last word - promise!!

I recall listening to the commentary on BBC 5L on the Liverpool v Man U FAC tie last season at Anfield. Liverpool one up with 10 mins to go having used two subs. Mike Ingham (the BBC football correspondent) suggests that Liverpool should make an unforced substitution for some reason. I thought "amateur!". Was I wrong to think like that? This is the same point - it just seems odd like the comments before last weekends match from various sources that our play-off chance was over? Probably over yes but not over.

I know I am being a bit dim here but why were two of City's current first team squad exposing themselves to the risk of injury outside a City first team match or training situation only a few days before a must win end of season match? What would have been said had Danny been ruled out on Saturday say? Unprofessional even if our play off chance is remote?

A well deserved match for a non-league stalwart.
One issue - was Darren Bullock ever a favourite at the Lane as noted on the website?

I agree. We are not out of it until we are out of it. It is very difficult to put a run together as there is not much between many of the teams. 2 wins would put us in with a shout and might just lead to the sort of run we need. Moor Green will not be easy as they are in the same sort of position as we are but the winners of that game could go on.

There were a lot of green jerseys in "offside" positions (and not involved !) but only Adams played the ball. It's possible that he could have come from an onside position but I didn't think so and neither did the majority of the crwod around. We were just about on the 18 yard line at the end he scored at and had a pretty good view. Happy to be corrected. One thing though the offside law is very very very confusing for players, supporters and officials.

Top marks to the vocal Hyde fans. Good to hear some away support!.
Have to say that a draw was fair although Hyde did play some really good football and ran us ragged at times however the reason that the offised trap was beaten was that the excellent Adams was very very very offisde. Add that to the blatant shove which put Lyttle on his backside in the build up to the penalty and you could say that neither of Hyde's goals were legit. But there were other chances where it seemed easier to score!

There was quite a bit in the Hinckley programme for the City match the other night. I am sure the details will be on the Knitters website.
I think Sven Mclaren had agreed to manage the opposition and players like Matt Le Tiss and Shilton are lining up for a golden oldies style XI

Have to disagree about Shab. As usual he was excellent for 95% of the game but he continues to make 3 or 4 serious errors per game. He lost possession in our own half which led to the penalty and made another couple of wrong decisions in the first half that led to chances. As Preecey said in the EN earlier in the week if he can keep his concentration for a full 90 minutes and improve his decision-making thenhe can play at a much higher level than this. I have to agree. It wasn't Shab's fault that after he lost possession Hyde went on to foul Des and that created the penalty that should never have been but his error - he lost control of the ball under no pressure - gave Hyde an opportunity they should never have had. Other things he did were superb especially his pace and tackling against what were a pair of pretty sharp forwards (actually very sharp!). Nevertheless I'm glad he played. How will he ever become the player he could be if he is warming the bench?

Hi friends. Lots of common sense above. Happy to be here. I will moderate my comments and try to keep them constructive so no harm comes to the excellent fellows who have created this MB. The MB(s) have been instrumental in allowing us exiles to keep in touch and I have met numerous superb City fans and decent people who I would never have known otherwise.
I have , of course, forgotten, how to get my City Forward Forever (latin please DB?) avatar back up but no doubt it will return. Off to the Lane now.
Actually it is a sad day for me. Terry O'Donnell (Clive's dad for those who know the 6' 7" former programme editor of the Club) died in the early hours of yesterday morning after a brave fight. A devout Liverpool and City and football fan he took me to my first game at the Lane back in 1972. He will be sadly missed.

Baseball is a really good game its just that they dont show the world series until th efollowing evening by which time some githas let the reuslt out of the bag which takes th efun out of it. There is a lot of subtlety in this sport that makes it the next most tactical game after cricket IM(V)HO

Its a great place to see what other people are thinking ..or er writing (the two activities not being necessarily coincidental) and as Manc says its proved a great place to meet from the very first semi-organised meet at the Postal Order some years ago.
I have met Manc, andy (and daughters), ealing (and his brother),Preston, DazaB, jupu and others to add to those pitiful souls who were inflicted by my acquaintance aforehand.
After a 3 hour trip to the Lane it is good to have fellow sufferers who can understand what most mortals cannot.

Don't know if it's right, but from doing Latin for a year, i reckon it means "citizens - faithful, loyal and true" Cty = Civitas (Citizen is Civis, as any scholar of Civis Romanis would know ) To pick a nit. Civitas also means citizenship . Whether that means "the citizens" en masse of merely denotes membership I dont know.
