Cracking night, thoroughly enjoyed myself. I shall look forward to the tour of Stamford Bridge as well, and the Man Utd signed ball, which I may well decide to keep, haven't decided yet.

who was the guy in the yellow t shirt for? i want some of his pictures! I wasnt able to make it last night but Rich was going to take care of some photos for the official site (including profiles) so hopefully this explains who this guy was. Well done to Rich again for what sounds like a great night and to all who took part.

Look forward to next year (maybe!).

Thanks to everyone who took part in BM5. You raised just under £1000 for WCFC (+ whatever it was for the auction). So that's nearly £5000 we've raised + a Two Year Shirt Sponsorship from the Big Match so far!!
Another good game & night! I bet there aren't too many teams at any level who have the Chairman as Referee at a Supporters Match!
Could BM6 be the last at the Lane??

Thanks to all who organised (and very professionally at that!) such a splendid fund-raising event. As somebody says above it ain't just any old club whose Chairman turns out to referee such a game. And the off-pitch arrangements, even down to the drinks and jelly babies, were first-class.
As for me; well, at 64, I have to accept that was my first and last appearance at SGL. I was f*****g useless and I guess the 20 year age gap was just a bridge too far. However, I can say I've played on that pitch.
Abiding impressions? How vast the pitch was; how cramped the dressing rooms; how much more difficult it is to play than to watch.
I had 16 "supporters" which fair brought a lump to the throat. I survived about 70 minutes on the pitch I reckon and suffered mightily on Friday night, even after the hot bath! However, I can now walk again.

Tim - hadn't realised you were 64. I'm not going to say that you were a John Barton-type. You were in the right places a lot of the time, and that leg got at least something on the ball on a number of important occasions. As you say, it is all about the opportunity of the occasion and that is fantastic that you put yourself forward, took part, had a go, and soaked up the total experience.

Tim, who cares whether you were f**k**g useless or not, you did it, you enjoyed it, and its an experience to be remembered for a long long time!!! Fantastic!!!! Cramped dressing rooms? I was in the away dressing room at aggborough on Sunday and it is TINY, probably deliberate and a bit of gamesmanship. SGL is strange in that the home dressing room seems a lot smaller than the away dressing room. surely if you want to build a fortress, you need a bit of gamesmanship in the dressing rooms. There certainly is at Chelsea and Liverpool. When I went to Stamford Bridge and went in the away dressing rooms, they have a big cooled drinks machine - with nothing in it!!!! The white board is behind the door so you can't use it, the lockers are down low so you have to bend down, and then theres a high shelf to bang your head on when you get back up. However at liverpool the away dressing room floor is covered in a slippy lino that you can hardly stand on in boots, so most teams take their own rubber matting to put on the floor to avoid accidents!!!!!

Tim, you were certainly not f*cking useless, far from it. You should a good deal more composure on the ball than some on the field of play and made some important contributions.
In fact I was pleased with everyones contributions on Friday night. Everyone gave it their best shot and for a short while in the second half, I thought the Home Team were going to upset the odds and grab the win.
Loved doing my Gordon Strachen impression when Mazey hit the back of the net was cracking and berating a linesman dressed as Georgie Dragon was the most surreal experience of my life!

So without a win all season do you think your position is threatened Dave?

In a strange sort of way, Mazey's goal meant more than any City goal does! A tremendous evening I thought, I'm amazed that my knee held up at all, let alone allowed me to wander aimlessly round for 75 minutes. Next year I will be fitter. Last year I couldn't even have bent down to tie my boots up, this year I couldn't get them off, can't wait for next year!

An ability to play for 70 minutes could make you a candidate for the Harriers, Tim.

You are so kind folks!
"..composure on the ball" - what, you mean when I stood on it? Actually I think the time I climbed the barriers at the dressing-room end to retrieve the ball was the highlight; now that needed composure! (I have put all the bits back in the right places now).
"..An ability to play for 70 minutes could make you a candidate for the Harriers" - now there's a back-handed compliment if ever I saw one.

Manc was teasing me that I was playing up to the cameras, so its all part of it, Tim!. The flaws in his argument being a) that there werent any cameras there, and b) that my slow reaction time didn't permit me the slightest opportunity to even think about making things look good! Fortunately, I got lucky a few times, but sadly not enough times to allow Mazey's goal to count as the winner.
I thought the blond lad (Jamie?) playing upfront for the away team was pretty useful.
