1-0 HT. Albert tapped home. Good game. Nice attacking football. There was 1 Loughborough fan behind the goal, so I don't think they brought too many. I'm guessing 350 crowd?

Ft 2-1. Could have won fairly comfortably but Loughborough fought to the end. Some very good performances especially the keeper. Loughborough's number 14 looked very good!

Should have been 4-1 down at HT and would have been were it not for a superb debut from Tom Palmer. Carved open time and again, didn't deserve to be ahead at the break. Cracking second from Danksy but poor defending let them back in. Then a Brooksideresque penalty from Denzil that only just reached the keeper kept us all hanging on a bit. Got out of jail a bit today, Cov Utd scouts will have enjoyed it.
Pretty obvious already that some of the squad ain't up to it at this level. Griffiths and Baldwin in particular. Pretty impressed with Kieran Burrell on debut though.

I do agree Tom Palmer was superb and made 3 or 4 crucial saves. It just seemed that we made very heavy weather of this game. Particularly noticeable to me was the lack of movement, few players seemed to be making runs. Matt Birley was probably the most industrious. Often the quality of the final ball into the box let us down. The biggest difference I think between our level and National League North is players often appear to have far more time on the ball and the better players should be able to use this more effectively.
I thought once Jamie Smith came on we looked far better and he gave us some pace and width. Cracking goal from Danksy a great strike.
As the old saying goes if you play below your best and still win it's the sign of a good team. Monday looks like being a real test against strong opposition

Lets not forget weve got a fair few injuries to deal with at moment. Shab, Hughesy, Nathan, Gwynne.
Birchy is now out for next three games.
Griff has been playing through injury for the last couple of games.
As stamoo said...winning when its ugly is a sign of a good team !

Nearly won the halftime draw. Ah well.
Was a lucky result in truth. City played well, but were certainly not the better team. Defence was really shaky.
Was hilarious to see Snape raging at the poor defending in the first half. No doubt his own shortcomings as a manager (of which there are many) were overlooked in the halftime talk.

Griffiths didn't play at Chasetown, so struggle to see why he was selected today if he's not 100% fit. Agree with the comments that our keeper effectively won the game for us today.

And this ain't a good team! As teej said a number aren't up to he required standard. I'd add Harris-James and that lad Burrell to the list. We will get found out soon enough unless the squad is strengthened

Jury's out on J H-J at the moment, he's got technique but no end result and disappeared for much of the first half. Need to see a bit more of Burrell first. Think I prefer Alexandru in a holding midfield position.

What exactly does Snape pay you for? To patrol message boards making sure no-one says anything unfavourable about him?

Can we just talk about footy please? Nobody really cares that you don't like the manager, Genghis, nobody on here is in his pocket either. We watched the City before he arrived and will do so after his departure. You get managerial shortcomings in non-league, same as you get player shortcomings. At the end of the day we all want the City to win, don't we?

On the pitch and based on my experience supporters may have to be prepared for a roller coaster ride or at least initially. Last season the team I watch here – frequently but not regularly – faced similar issues to City on the playing side, i.e. relegation, reduced playing budget, change to recruiting local players, only one player retained, etc. It took until mid-September before the defenders started to look as if they had actually met each other before, the best player realised he was getting more time in the lower level and started to exploit it, a new goalkeeper came who was a great shot stopper and confidence giver to the rest of the defence. Add to this a captain who led by example and drove the team for 90 minutes. It was good to see the team gel and improve as the season progressed. I saw two games won where they may not been the best team but the 90-minute attitude got a result at the end of the game. The reaction of supporters was interesting! After realising the new team was probably not going to suffer a second successive relegation they started to enjoy it and cut the younger, local players some slack understanding that they were learning.

No-one gets criticised for their berating of Hampson and the Board either. Yes, we should all want City to win. Acknowledging threats to the club are part of this mindset.

However, Snape's prank of 'stinking up the place'', as he referred to it, he would only away do at away grounds. Such juvenile behaviour from someone who delusionally believes themselves to be capable of managing at premier league standard one day. I'm sure Alex Ferguson never engaged in such activities.

Actually, if you knew anything about football (or even did the stadium tour at Chelsea) you'd know that it goes on in the Premier League too. Some clubs apparently don't put toilet paper in the away changing rooms. I did a conference at Old Trafford some years back, and we ended up down near the pitch , in the tunnels underneath, and through to the away changing rooms, which Ferguson had refurbished, to include a lino floor which was lethal and slippy even when dry, a refrigerated drinks machine, which was empty, and was also behind the door out of the changing room. Dirty tricks abound at all levels.

To snape. Verb. To excrete in a toilet and not flush. Example: I am because I snape (Descartes 17th century) and past tense "Oooh vicar was it you who snaped?"
Snape. Noun. Example: Luton is one big snape.

That's a really good point too easily forgotten - this is a new team and like all new teams it should improve as the players gel together and the season progresses. Also some of the players are very young and inexperienced Aaron Brett is a fine example, only 16, these players should also improve over time. We may not win the league but we should be challenging very close.

It was important that we won the game, the overall performance wasn't great against a side who were well organised and looked full of running. Tom Palmer kept us in the game with four crucial saves and Alexandru Albert looks a top player, Brad Birch will be missed in midfield now serving a three match ban and Nathan Hayward also missing through injury creating a problem in a light weight midfield. Danksy scored a cracking goal and Matt Birley looked good in midfield , the inclusion of Jamie Smith as a second half sub gave the side some balance on the left wing as a attacking option. A tough game today at Coventry United who must be one of the favourites for the league title with a big budget and have Alex Reid who has played football league, just hope we can get something out of this game, but injuries and suspension have hampered any chance we may have had.

I heard the Despot Snape wanted to demolish the villa in question to build a palace in size to rival that of his idol Ceaușescu had in Bucharest. But made entirely out of polystyrene painted purple and orange. Out the front would be an 80 foot high statue of Maurice Munden holding a folder that all City fans would have to worship on a match day before being allowed into the area. The Palais de Snapper would contain 1,483 toilets - none of them would be connected to the water system...

Can just picture you two dancing around with bells on telling jokes for the amusement of him and his lackeys like BlueandWhite Flag. I can't wait for the day that Snape is exposed and you're all queuing down the job centre together.
