Alex Gudger ( ex very good player for us ) has made it to the FA Cup 2nd Round with Brackley after they beat Gillingham 4-3 after extra time. They now face Blackpool ( Kiddy's conquerors ) away. When we played Brackley in the 3rd qualifying round, we caught a very good side on a going day. A nice friendly club with friendly people. Good luck to Alex in the next round. Are Brackley bankrolled by someone? They have tiny home attendances, almost went down last year and the year before, but bought in several Moors players and Gudger and are now challenging for play-offs. Seem to remember they did OK a couple of seasons ago too, an odd fluctuation in performance season to season it seems. Alan Leighton was heavily involved with Brackley at some time, I'm not sure whether he is any more though.

Daniel Nti sent off in injury time after coming on as a second half substitute in a 4-1 defeat for York City against Lincoln City.

Bakayoko started and scored the opening goal tonight up at Sheffield United which proved to be the winner as they clung on to hold it, the Blades missed a late penalty and had a dominant shot count 20-3,but Bakayoko killed their unbeaten 15 game run in the league.

Former Player-Manager Ally Robertson was featured heavily in the "Whites vs. Blacks" documentary on the BBC a few days ago. Worth a watch on the iPlayer.

What's going on with Sean, I think that's three different clubs so far this season? I look at the picture of him doing his knee-slide on my 'pandemonium at the Ricoh' coffee mug each morning. I am sure from a City point of view it can't be helped but what a shame, a real waste of a talent, and he's still young? Let's hope he finds his way back up to a higher standard of football.

As is so often the case. particularly in sport, talent alone is simply not enough. I know this from personal experience with my own lad Dan being described as one of the best footballers in Worcestershire when he was 14/15. But even at 6 foot, sub 11 second 100m speed, gifted with both feet and lethal in the air was not enough. I remember him scoring a perfect hat-trick (left foot, right foot and header) in a county representative game and someone telling me that he should be playing league football once! However, It's all in the head and the heart. Even at non-league level, you've got to want it, and want it badly.

Educated guess is massive attitude problem. Hit the heights with us in 14/15 season, struggled to replicate that form ever again but still things he should be first name on the team sheet. Wasted talent, a little bit more application and he could be playing way higher than the Evo Prem for sure.

I assume he's being kept fairly busy with a young family and full-time work. I'd still like to thank him for those goals, the entertainment he gave us, and his part in that really enjoyable City side. For me, he's a blade in a blue and white shirt, and I wish him all the best.

Sean Geddes since leaving us spent last season at Stourbridge, then joined Hednesford Town and had a stint at Stafford Rangers. This week made his debut for his new club Sutton Coldfield Town , scored a scorcher in the 36th minute and got sent off two minutes later. Our own Connor Gater on loan at Stourbridge got man of the match so good news on his fight to get match fit. Its so sad to see Sean who was a top player for us and Stourbridge and his football career going in a downhill spiral, its down to his temperament and attitude and he never seems to learn. He has got the talent and needs to get his head right and try to rebuild his footballing career.

Bladesman is right I believe. Sean is a happy family man, and I don't think he necessarily sees football as his career, just so long as he's enjoying his football, he can play at whatever level he chooses.

Aaron Brown also signed for Sutton Coldfield last week.
I noticed that Shaun Harrod scored for Wrexham a couple of weeks ago. Can't believe it's the same player that played for us.

Tristian Dunkley has left Hednesford Town and signed for Halesowen Town . Only on loan I think. Sounds like Dunkley has had a few injuries and suspensions

Couple of good goals in the Conf North by ex City players today. Sam Minihan for Stockport against Alty: Joe Fitzpatrick for Telford against Halifax:

Two great strikes there. All the more baffling that we let Fitzpatrick go to strengthen a rival, and instead kept Junior English.

You've expressed your opinion of Junior English here on more than one occasion already. I don't know why you keep on telling us the same thing. There's only one opinion that counts and clearly Carl values him.

That's a daft statement. Gater was injured with no minutes under his belt so gone to Stourbridge to get some game time.

Correct. Connor Gater's toe injury took a lot longer to heal than initially thought, meaning that he missed the first three months of the season. With Connor getting plenty of game time, and Stourbridge still in the FA Cup, it was extended for a second month. I would expect him to return back to the City after that.

Not sure if this is the right heading to put this under but I noticed Keiran Morris scored the winner for Stafford Rangers against Hednesford - is he still on our books? (Kyle Perry also scored).

Joe Fitzpatrick has left Telford to sign for Boston United. Think he has links to new Boston manager from his time at Mansfield.
Also, whilst not technically an ex player, Mickael Partodikromo, the tricky winger from New Caledonia who was on trial with us in pre season, is now playing regularly for Rushall Olympic, who are top of the Northern Premier. Jose Veiga is also there as 1st choice keeper, what a bloke.

If he plays anything like he did when with us he might just make the bench - as the kitman!
