On a more positive note, Vaughny seems to have established himself as first choice at Solihull Moors, who are doing well in the Conference Prem.
Danny Nti wasn't even in the York City squad that got hammered at Guiseley midweek. Injured?

Danny Nti wasn't even in the York City squad that got hammered at Guiseley midweek. Injured? & Nathan was on the first televised match at Solihull, it was funny to watch as the opposition did not have a kit that did not clash with mores so had to use an old mores kit, so Solihull a team played B team in effect

We're straying off topic now, but this also happened on New Year's Day 1990. I'm pretty sure Eddie Whittall, a lovely chap who some of you will remember, was the kitman and he'd taken our blue and white kit. Bath were wearing black and white stripes and the ref told us to change. We didn't have an alternative and Bath gave us their yellow away shirts. If I remember rightly we wore yellow/blue/blue. We lost 3-1.

The Leicester United one was strange, not only because both me and Andy turned up totally independently, in different cars, at the same wrong ground, and almost paid to watch some rugby game instead! So much for "Follow the Lights!" City were in blue and white stripes, Leicester were in red and white stripes. You would never have thought that it would be a clash, but in the rain, and under floodlights, it was impossible, The ref made us change at half time into Leicesters other strip of white shirts, and to be honest, it was just as bad. We lost anyway! What ever happened to Leicester United? who used to be Enderby Town?

Batch and geddes have both signed for Stafford Rangers, who do seem to like ex-players of ours.

I was talking to a guy on a plane last week who used to play for Stafford with Barry Lowe. According to "The Bible" we sold Barry to Nuneaton for ÂŁ6k in the early 80's.

Amadou Bakayoko scored his first league for Walsall today, and then got sent off in the last minute.

I see Kyle Perry and Sean Geddes both missed penalties for Stafford against Coalville. I seem to remember Sean was our go to man on penalties but gradually lost his mojo with them which unfortunately reflected the confidence in the rest of his game. Sad really.

Tristian Dunkley got sent off for Hednesford with a straight red.

I always liked him, but he had a fitness problem if I remember. He looked overweight when I last saw him at Bromsgrove.

I'd agree he struggled with fitness, but i thought he was one of our best players in preseason. I imagine Carl decided taking him on would have been too much of a gamble, when taking his fitness and previous injury problems into account.

Lee Hughes v Wayne Thomas! Now there's something to think about!
Adds a bit of spice to the occasion that's for sure.

Dan Nti scored today in York City's 2-2 draw at home to Sutton (his first for them I think)

Campion has announced on Faceboook that his time with big club Telford is done. I would imagine they can't afford to pay him and have a loanee in his place who has their wages paid for by the parent club.
Vaughny was taken off injured abour an hour in to Solihull Moors' tie against Yeovil last night, which Moors won 4-2 on penalties.

Alex Gudger ( ex very good player for us ) has made it to the FA Cup 2nd Round with Brackley after they beat Gillingham 4-3 after extra time. They now face Blackpool ( Kiddy's conquerors ) away. When we played Brackley in the 3rd qualifying round, we caught a very good side on a going day. A nice friendly club with friendly people. Good luck to Alex in the next round.

Are Brackley bankrolled by someone? They have tiny home attendances, almost went down last year and the year before, but bought in several Moors players and Gudger and are now challenging for play-offs. Seem to remember they did OK a couple of seasons ago too, an odd fluctuation in performance season to season it seems.

I see a very ex-player, Adam Wilde, has left Gosport Borough after 7 years to join AFC Totton as player/assistant manager.
