I have not been to watch City yet this season but given the two defeats in our first two league games and the exit of the FA Cup at the first hurdle, does anyone think the squad or the management team are just not up to much? Alternatively, have we just begun the season by playing teams expected to be at or around the top of the league at the end of the season? It’s really sad. I miss going to the games. I miss the good times. I just don’t want to watch City in their current incarnation. I remember how much anger and vitriol there was amongst supporters this time last season. I didn’t think it could get any worse than that, but I was wrong. As much negativity as there was a year ago, this is far, far worse. There was still some passion and fire left last year, now I’ll just feels bleak and hopeless. It’s a pretty s*** realisation tbh. I think you are mistaken , there is more optimism this season now that we have a Chairman that cares about WCFC, most supporters are in a happy place at the moment ,with some returning after staying away last season. If you follow the City then you will Know that all player sponsorship has been sold ,volunteers are starting to return , lets say this is the start of a new beginning now that Mr H has left the building

A great week for WCFC. I worry though about who controls the club through share ownership. I assume it’s still the same bunch that got us into the sh!t to start with. If so they could scupper any routes forward and block any plans the new board has. Surely now is the time to clarify share ownership and truly take back control of the club? If not any future AGMs could be a farce. At present the old guard could technically still control the future. How can this be prevented? I wore a City shirt in public for the first time in years today. I'm not sure but I think there were 7 or 8 shareholders that scuppered the plans to get the constitution changed, these held 21,000 to 24,000 shares, now then if the club could sell some shares to those supporters that don't own any or just a few, we might be able to nullify those 7 or 8. if we could, then the club would have a great chance to change this out dated and unfair system.

Yes a great start to the new season with Steve and the new board in place. Boldmere will be a good test for the lads, and perhaps give an indication of what's ahead for the rest of the term

Commimtent from both sides to bring club back, brings up Perdiswell application. Practical and pragmatic to look at others sites (after Perdiswell). Cllr Gregson: It is with some regret that I agree this recommendation, I think it is the right thing to do.
I think this is a turning point as to what we can do for the football club.
Suggests a review of the Perdiswell proposals "if this has reached a dead end".
Insists "this is not the end of the road for the club".
No other councillors opt to speak and the motion proposed is unanimously passed.

You require a willing landowner. The landowner is not willing (there are other plans for the land). Yes grants are available. These are relatively limited though. Where’s the shortfall coming from? It won’t all be paid for via grant aid. This is true at the moment, but the overall status of the council could change in the next 5 years so who knows? Also people will invest in a community project and not one run by Hampson and co.

I wonder if there will be a comment from our leader or one of his minions this week, it might be that he has had enough and is going to walk away?
