It's non league day on Saturday, where all the FL/Prem clubs are on international break. It's suggested to non league clubs to come up with ways to try and get a bumper crowd, and we've got some fairly decent offers on for the day! If you hold any sporting season ticket you can get in for half price, or there's a family deal, two adults and two under 16's for just £10. I wonder how much it will boost the crowds by! www.worcestercityfc.com/news/non-league-day-offers--this-saturday-1675629.html

I was going to pop it onto Gainsboroughs. Hopefully the club have made Geoff aware of this so he can pop it into the paper so more see it.

A couple of Worcester based Wolves fans I know will be going on the VG on Saturday. BTW - does anybody know if the club shop was open for the Chorley game ? and/or will it be open for the Gainsborough game ?

the club shop was not open at last game & i doubt it will at next few, no place at this time. Mike Davies did ask for assistance once they have acquired unit to put it in & it will need volunteers to run it...

Look at my post 'lack of fund raising' The club has benifited for years from many of of us who are now completely fed up with the mess this board has put us in. Try doing what some of us used to, put the time & money in, instead of bleating & asking why some facilities are not open. These comments make my blood boil & I was only a very small contributor........ God knows what some of the more active 'fans' must feel like !!!!

Who is bleating, only answered question with why & mentioned what Mike Davies spoke to me about & yes i will help where & when i can & have done previous. not boycotting home games as I want to see the lads play football at this level or higher as preference, each to their own...

We havent had a club shop since we left SGL, and I don't remember you being involved? I remember Wayne Henley doing shed loads of work, and Rob Cocklin photographing and cataloging everything, but I don't remember you.

Yup, the lovely Lynne spent plenty of time manning the club shop at Aggborough, both in the Aggborough suite and going around the ground with an armful of scarves so the shop went to those on the terraces! We certainly cannot forget her time and effort with the shop. I'm sure there are others who helped run it too - I know Rob organised the old programmes.

City boss, Carl Heeley has captured the signature of defender, James Chambers. Chambers, formerly of West Brom, Leicester City, Watford and most recently Walsall has joined City to bolster the defensive ranks.
Chambers made his West Brom debut against Port Vale in January 2000 and along with brother Adam, became the first twins to play in the same team representing England at any level (under 20s), as well as the first twins to play for the same side in the Premier League.
Chambers, aged 35, goes straight in to the squad ahead of tomorrow's game VS Gainsborough Trinty (3pm).

15 minutes to go. My predicted 800 is looking increasingly unlikely!

Losing 2-0. The player's frustration is overpowering. If Carl get them mentally sorted out at half time, we are going to lose big time!

At half-time I would have been happy to go home; good job I didn't as it was the proverbial game of two halves. Even with ten men we still looked like we could win it.
Didn't see English's late tackle, but Mr Massey-Ellis reached straight for his pocket, so he had no doubt and he's usually a pretty good referee.
Chambers, when fit, looks like another Wayne Thomas, and Sharpe or Hutch playing alongside him should be able to do a job. Craig had probably his best showing in a City shirt. Couldn't understand why we left Nelson-Addy on the bench 1st half.
Incidentally, George Williams was at the game.

Disappointing crowd and first half. But at least whatever Carl said at half time picked them up.

Great 2nd half, and we are not bottom, should be a good game on Tuesday, if the boy's play as well as that 2nd half

The P.A had blown up, apparently.
Brilliant second half performance today. I'm actually looking forward to seeing city without English for a few games. He seems to be pushed in to all sorts of positions and hasn't found a fit.
Onward and upwards. Off the bottom!

this could be the turning point, if the team stay positive, hope we get the right result Tuesday... crowd was not what we wanted but with the weather forecast, it was no too bad...

Yeah, poor weather and poor recent performances probably kept a few away, but cannot knock the initiative to try and get more through the turnstiles.
A game of two halves - a very accurate cliche for todays match. At half time I was fully convinced we haven't got enough to stay in this league, at full time, I feel like we've got a slim chance. Need to get rid of a few - Batchelor, Gallingah and English would go in my book, though I think Junior is liked by Carl, for his versatility, so might be staying.
As ever, we relied on Hughes to keep us in the game, though I felt Craig did well today, getting the assist for the second - I had to eat my words after saying he looks poor, cannot run, cannot turn. I'd start him and Hughes on Tuesday, Bishop on the bench.
Chambers is a good signing, one I wish we got before the start of the season, will hopefully be the veteran head barking orders at the back that we need. Hope he is okay though as he did have to go off just before time.

Apart from what seemed a twenty minute spell when they scored their goals, I thought we looked good. That first win must come on Tuesday though, as much for the fans confidence as the players.

thesecondjack, as you'll know doubt know I am boycotting home games. BUT you said 'but cannot knock the initiative to try to get more through the turnstiles'...... Do you mean the non league day ? Or do you mean the board are doing something I haven't heard of ? If it is the latter, I would consider ending my boycott.

The non league day offers for other club season ticket holders and the family ticket. It's certainly not a game changer from a boycotting point of view, but in the past the club has done very little/sod all with non league day - this year they actually came up with something to try and bring extra people turning up.

I'm not sure the line about the club never taking non-league day seriously holds up. I know WCFC were one of the first to get involved and a lot of effort has been put in by certain people in the past who may feel a bit miffed that it has been forgotten. Rich W was the prime instigator and has more detail which I'm sure he'll provide here later!
