I thought it would be useful to have a separate thread on this, people have commented that they would like a large banner for WCFC to use at matches & to generate support on returning to Worcester, please give ideas of what think a City banner should say, and what background you think it should have - I see the England flag has already been suggested as a no go.
It'd require a bit of money to pay for the banner(s), how would the ST like to go about raising the money? I think it could be a good idea to be read out on the PA system at games where/who you can hand it to, I don't mind sitting in the Aggborough Suite before a match and at half time if needed.
I know a guy who runs a banner and sign company in the city so if wanted, I could potentially get a mates rate
If anyone has a bit of design nous, it might be a good idea to have a few sample banners made up from peoples suggestions, and have a vote on the design on here, and on facebook/twitter, maybe if possible, the club website too.
lets get us noticed!

Good idea to have a new thread for this, the ''When'' thread was getting a bit off topic (partly my fault I'm afraid!)
I think a simple ''Come on you City Boys'' white text on City blue background would be effective, but open to other ideas!
I think it's a good idea to give fans the vote on a big banner, as they'll be the ones seeing it the most, and hopefully putting some money to it. If someone is able to come up with some designs, an in person vote could be done when they donate towards it, I'm sure those who aren't connected online would appreciate this.
My wallet tells me I'm happy to put a fiver or so in, maybe more if I really like the design!

Would happily chip in for this. Would something like Crowdfunder make it easier for people to contribute?

Count me in for a tenner. Is it a message to the council we want about getting club back in Worcester or something supporting the team. I'm happy to go with either

Good question, I feel like a ''we really don't appreciate being messed around'' banner isn't so catchy though, and will have a limited life.

A suggestion from the Facebook page which I am copying across:
Can't condone the spelling but the mock up design looks good.
Like the reference to faithful, but perhaps some reference to bringing City home.

Without a reference to moving back home the banner will be a waste of time. This is about getting a message across.

I get where you're coming from, but it'd also mean it'd only really be useful until we do get back home. After that it's redundant, unless you can think of a phrase that would still work when we're back home.

Version 2, as put on Facebook by Gary Cave. I personally prefer this one, and does give a ''we belong in the city'' message.

Sorry, I've been out of the loop for the last few days, can someone explain what the purpose of this banner is? Those screenshots of banners just really say "Cone On City" in other words, to which I say "Änd? so what?" If this is some kind of protest (against whom? and whats it trying to achieve?) then I'm with Lord Ealing. If this is about getting WCFC home to Worcester, then its got to talk that language, and its got to hit the people its aimed at. This all looks pretty pointless, and aimless.

I'm guessing the point in the banner is to show the council we want answers? If so then as Jem said unless it is something to that will get a reaction then not much point really as it can be seen as just another flag/banner.
If someone can think of an effective wording on the flag then I know people will definately be behind the funding of it and we can hopefully get a message out.

Jem i created this as there were bits on other posts saying we need to get the message over to the council that WCFC needs to be back in Worcester & it was started on the back of the last front page WN story, & the thoughts were could we get another front page with something like this... the other side was also to have a decent Banner/Flag that we took to all matches, its in its infancy at the moment & were looking for support or not & asking for supporters ideas of what they want & who will dip in with funds. love to hear what your thoughts are on the how with what... we asked at the beginning for all contributions from supporters, ST & WCFC.

How about something like... HOME IS WHERE THE (HEART/CITY)IS The HEART/CITY bit could be a heart outline shape with the City badge in the middle of it! If i could rustle up something on whatever paintshop app it is people use these days i would try but i'm no good at that kinda thing..i'm ok at painting vivid pictures and imagining things in my mind and head though!

Something as simple as...
" Worcester City Football Club
Not Playing In Worcester Since 2013... "
It's sarcastic, bold and gets the point across...

if its the city council who is killing the club by not wanting them at Perdiswell then we should tell them. 'Worcester city Council: We support our club, why don't you?'

My thoughts? Well, a local authority has no obligation to assist a private company like WCFC Ltd. regardless of whether it is a local football club with over 100 years of tradition and great memories for many citizens of Worcester. However, a local authority does have an obligation to provide services to its citizens, and offer the kinds of facilities that the people of Worcester are asking for. What I do know, from working with the Trust, and the Board (including previous Boards) for more than 15 years now is that the local authority have always given the impression to WCFC that they are in favour of a new ground, in favour of a valued football club in the city. It appears now that for many years, in reality, the local authority have been leading the football club up the garden path. This is most strange considering the latest planning proposal put forward by the club and Trust. Perdiswell is not a stand alone football club for the benefit of Worcester City FC, the plan is a community sports facility driven, funded, and managed by the very community that it will serve. Yet it certainly appears that the local authority have no appetite even for a community sports facility that the citizens of Worcester can be proud of. Compare this with the actions of other local authorities, such as Dartford Borough Council, who, after many years of having no Dartford FC in Dartford, funded a facility, not just for Dartford FC, but for the benefit of Dartford citizens, providing more than just football. They provide golf facilities, mini-pitch hire, community pitch hire, footgolf, banqueting and function room hire, bars that can also be converted into learning facilities during the week. And all of this in a stadium which is eco-friendly with a glass roof, solar panels, water run off etc. It is state of the art, it drives revenues into Dartford Borough Council, it promotes Dartford as a town of sporting excellence by encouraging all ages to be actively involved. It is a facility that Dartford Borough Council are rightly proud of, and has won many awards for its design and concept. Therefore, if the city council have indeed backtracked on support for the concept of a facility at Perdiswell (and lets face it, would the Supporters Trust volunteers have continued ploughing money and time into this without encouragement from the city council?) then it should be made perfectly clear where the blame lies for the plight of the club. If you want a front page, even national press coverage, then it has to be extremely hard hitting. It has to expose those who are responsible, and if that is Worcester City Council, then they should be named on any banner or flag, so it is very clear who this protest is aimed at. This banner isn't being made to show support for a football team, but to protest against the actions of the city council, so if this is what the plan is, there should be no mixed messages. I'm afraid things like "Come on you City boys" or "One City, One Team" just aren't going to cut the mustard at all. Lord Ealing makes a valid point. If this is a valid and much needed protest whilst the club is in the last chance saloon, then there's no point in worrying about whether the banner has a shelf life beyond a move back to Worcester!!
