Not a lot Carl and Matt can do about it, in terms of the latest I think Symo and Charlie will the biggest loses yet.
It's got the same feeling about it from when we moved back into the North from the South and Carl had to near enough completely rebuild things...that summer he signed Thorley (at the time it was a case of...who ?), Danks, Glover etc etc
I've got faith that Carl and Matt will pull another good team together.

Interestingly, the piece also says "there are some of the current players who have agreed deals, but I can’t say too much about that yet."
If the budget cut is as has already been suggested, and you offer everyone terms based on that cut equally, then I would suggest that virtually all the players would leave.
Carl and Matt may be striving to keep a core of players - perhaps 3, perhaps 8, who knows ... and then build around that core ... I would have though Rob Elvins may have been one of that core, but players also have to consider their own financial situations .
The Club has lost a lot of young talent with substantial CN experience, but Jacob, Matt, Michael - and even Symo of late ... were all struggling with injuries in the second half of the season ...
If you have a core, then really you've got to build around players who are going to be available (barring the unexpected) for the large part of the season ...

I would suggest a solid back 4 will be key to survival. A half decent midfield and striker would be good. But if the budget is tight that might be difficult to achieve.

Already agreed.
I would guess that thinking of the squad we had, Sarge, Khan, Smith and maybe Moore.
Hopefully Thorley.
Before this news I would have included Taylor in the list.
So who does that then leave ?
Weir Deeney Ayres Edwards Whitehead Thompson
I'm excited to see what Carl and Matt bring in

Not sure what the story is with Danny Glover and Greg Mills at the moment. Both were loaned out around Feb time, as I understood it ...

Glover was loaned but Mills was signed by Boston

Oh, yeah ... thats right.
Kieron Morris has gone back to Walsall, as well, as he was on loan to us from them.
I dont think there is any expectation of Danny Edwards being able to play before the end of the year ...

Oh, yeah, had missed him , not sure how, I like him ...
As far as I can at the moment (and for sure there are likely to be more movements), about 40% of the closing squad have moved on, and there are 14 players (about which no info has yet been released)that moreeorless make up a side (if Tyler moves into centre-mid)
GK Matt Sergeant (+ Glyn Thompson)
RB Josh Smith CB Stu Whitehead CB Lee Ayres LB Shab Khan
RW Danny Williams CM Tom Thorley CM Tyler Weir LW Ellis Deeney
Striker: Danny Glover Striker: Ethan Moore
Bench GK, + Dan Polan + Danny Edwards (when fit)
Am not syaing this is next season's squad - am just saying these are the players about which no information has yet been put into the public domain ...

On a positive , Newport & Gloucester both survived ground sharing! Gloucester even finished above us and beat us twice so there is hope! Not much I know but there is Hope. Can the management get it right ? Looks like finishing 4th from bottom will do?

Its not all doom and gloom! This morning I watched the City U18's beat Salisbury and Southampton 7-0 in a superb display of football. It was one of the best games I have seen all season at any age range.Carl and Matt have the experience and knowledge to form another good team but it might take more than one season in which to do it.As long as the support remains loyal I am sure we will win through.

I suspect Glover is long gone unless he takes a drastic wage cut. And of the recent departures.... disappointed about Elvins & Symo. The others - I think are very replaceable.
But it will take some creativity from Carl & Matt, given the obvious budget restrictions

Some of the youngest new signings have looked great prospects.Dan Williams has impressed me no end and we have got similar talent comming through the youth sides that wont cost the earth and lets face it our final league position might be due to our top goal scorer not scoring enough goals!

Young players will be the order of the day. There are 100s of players out there it's just about getting the right ones at the right price! Confident the management will achieve that. Good to see so many positive posts on here hope all bodes well for the coming season. I'm feeling more optimistic now! COYB

Ok i'm going to look at this slightly differently.
For me last season all fo the players that have gone so far underperformed excluding Jacob Rowe and Rob Elvins.
Symo wasnt as good as the previous year, Breeze, Reece were inconsistant, and for all his promise Taylor was often 4th choice. Remember as well Symo was kicked out as not good enough from Gloucester and although he performed in Yr 1 was probably on decent wages
For me if we have already kept Sargeant, Deeney, Thorley, Shab, Smith, Moore then we can build on that as we did 2 years ago.
I suspect Stu Whithead will retire and I also dont expect Thompson to be back next year.
I also think Tyler will be at Gloucester next season due to the travelling
That then leaves Glover, Ayres, and Williams.

Correct as much as I liked Symmo all he ever did was fall over ! Very poor this year looked over weight and unfit half the time, nice bloke though I wish him well. Hope TT stays because he is so creative. Glover who knows,he is a luxury we can do without. Mikey Taylor nah not good enough.

My info is that Thorley has been made a good offer to go elsewhere - even if he may not yet have accepted. It seems we shall be seeing a lot of new faces next season. Once again there will be lots of players available in the Summer, so there will be plenty of choice, but not perhaps players of the calibre we'd like.

Let us not be unkind to those who are leaving. I for one am very sad to see Symmo go, true he didn't score as often or as regularly last season but he was still an excellent target man capable of holding the ball and he invariably won the aerial battles. If others were not on hand to feed off his flick ons it was not Symmo's fault. And for a big guy he had a great touch and good dribbling skills. Michael Taylor does not have a great first touch but for strength, effort and commitment he could not be faulted. When he came on as sub the opposition defenders knew about it! Rob Elvins is a big loss, next to Tom Thorley he was my player of the year. Speaking of which surely we can't allow TT to leave? Or Tyler Weir? It may be difficult enough to entice many supporters over to Kidderminster as it is and there will be even fewer willing to go and see a team of strangers. I know money is very tight but we have got to try and build a team around at least two or three quality players.

I think that whatever happens this summer, the management team need to build a team starting from the back. Number one priority is we must be hard to beat and concede as few goals as possible. This may mean using the majority of the budget in defence with hopefully enough left over for a decent midfield player or two. If doing this makes us boring to watch but good enough to finish fourth from bottom, that will do for me.

Its really down to the players - and the finance. We have to be in a position to allow ANYONE to leave, just in case the funds arent available to pay them. I don't know individuals personal circumstances, how much their football wages make a difference to their overall income. Has Thornley got a job outside football? Some guys have never played for the money, the likes of Kim Casey at Kiddy could have had a pro career, but chose to play for fun (I think he was in law). I think Paul Moss was an accountant. And Steve Rutter was quite happy in the world of international banking. Young kids cause a problem, in that, they don't necessarily want to carry on playing football once life, girls, work gets in the way and also they have tendency to want to move away from their locale, off to uni etc. Not many England U18s carry on playing football, let alone Worcester City U18s. If they do, they struggle in non-league against gnarly old non-league heavyweights. The likes of Kev Tudor ate footballing kids for breakfast. I think the playing staff will be quite flexible next season, with a lot of players coming in and out, not necessarily how or when the club wants it.

If the club is still in existence and we're not relegated this year it will be a huge achievement.

Spot on Ealing. That is the best we can hope for. If TT did choose to move on who can blame him? Most users of this MB have already woken up to the fact that next season will be very different both on and off the pitch. I'm expecting the standard of the football to,be poorer, with players coming and going, as Brooksider says. Think of 2009/10 season all over again. My main hope right now is that Carl and Matt stay. Anything else is s bonus.

Anything is better than the team we had in BSS !
I think we will have to use the loan system to our advantage, I would think that we could get a couple of KHFC fringe players.
I'm excited and confident and cannot wait to get started !! Lets not forget Graham Turner got Hereford from the Conference to League 1 using mostly loans, I think they went three seasons without spending a penny on transfers !
It can be done !
Personally I wouldn't mind a couple of the young lads Histon had at the end of the season.
I would take a punt on Marcus Palmer from Evesham also

Even loan players have to be paid and they need to be the right loan players to not disrupt the dressing room. Some loanees couldn't give a damn about who they play for or thier performance where by others become a real part of the team and have great pride in their performances. Not every club will loan their players out and pay their wage, we will either contribute or cover them totally and the budget may not even stretch to that?

Its usually a percentage of a wage, it could be 100% but then it could be 50%. It will be down to 'who you know' and what deal Carl/Matt can strike. Theres plenty of players out there, with loans at least if they are no good we can get shot of them and get a replacement straight in, then again if players this season are not on a contract I suppose they are just as easy to get shot of. I think it has to be explored more this season, as does the inclusion of a few youngsters.

Totally agree, keeping the management will be a massive fillip, not just because they're pretty good, but also it gives a notice of intent and commitment that players in the area approached by them will pick up on. When Hereford United were in the doldrums a few years back they only had 4 players signed on in July, and under CVA could not buy any. Undoubtedly the Graham Turner factor helped get players to join the club, along with some seriously clever loan signings too, including the best player in Scotland last season !!I would expect a fair few Div 1 and 2 loanees to come in and get 5-10 games. Dressing room disruption will not come into it next season, so long as they know each others names, that'll do!
