No not sad, it's called supporting your team. You should try it sometime.

I've no idea what you are talking about silly man. I think its very sad that football matches have to be switched to different times to stop kids drinking and causing trouble, this on top of accomodating for potentially unruly away fans by closing the Shed to home supporters. Sounds like the morons are calling the shots, and its very sad to see that in non-league.

I don't believe the 1130 kick off was anything to do with warding off drinking trouble makers - it was purely to do with getting as many through the turnstiles as possible. There were 600 Burton fans at Stafford this afternoon in a crowd of 1600 and I didn't see one supporter remotely the worse for drink - one or two of the Rangers players perhaps, but that's a different story.

The Shed wasn't closed to us home fans, but if you had bothered to turn up you would have known that

All I said is that it would be sad if the idea of switching times of games to accomodate idiots (as has been the case in league football) was to start occuring at non-league level. I have no idea if that was the reason for an early kick off, but it was mooted by someone else on here - not me, maybe you should ask them to ask WCFC/Board??? It was just a reflection on how the non-league game might be changing, which along with segregation, is sad indeed. Sorry VOR, I see no irony, and no question.

According to Dave Boddy 11.00 was traditionally the kick-off time on a Boxing Day. I quite like the early kick-off. It means you can go to the footie and do something with the rest of the day. And it seemed not to detract from the attendance.

Yes that is what I thought. I remember in the early eighties going to the City in the morning and then to Villa with my mates family in the afternoon. I had decided to not mention it as it didn't fit in with Goldfishsider's view on the destruction of non league football and he would just keep on and on, but now as you mention it....

How someone can confuse the word "changing" for "destruction" shows either a lack of intelligence or a poor attempt to flame. Either way more irrelevence from the silly little man from the Banana Republic.

Funny how the rest of football doesn't follow this tradition, maybe there would have been 50-100 more if it had been played at a more "traditional" time.

The 11.30 a.m. kick-off took me back to the old days when the matches were played on Christmas Day. Kick-off was usually 11.00 a.m. then.

"City break their conference north attendance record" seems like the locals liked the 11:30 ko time. Not many from Reddich though. I'd estimate no more than 150.
