We have Chris Smith suspended. The Pilgrims have midfielder John Rowan and defender Tony Crane suspended. They would have played but for the postponement of last weekends match.
No excuses there then although Smudger will be a big miss for us.
I see the King played for the reserves last night. He couldn't .. could he?
I wonder if R2D2 will keep an unchanged side (apart from suspensions) again? I think we will see a couple of changes with Gill moving to centre back alongside Clarke in a makeshift pairing and I can see a fitter Webby starting on the right of a 4 man midfield.
I see this as a really vital game. If we can capitalise on our win at Solihull Airport by adding a further 3 points here we will be very much moving in th eright direction and it might even give us the confidence to sneak something at Harrogate the following weekend.

Sneak something at Harrogate - a mince pie from Betty's Tea Room is the best we can hope for from that particular pre-Christmas jaunt!

I get the message but.......My comment was meant to be mince pie in cheek - I've been to Wetherby Road each time City has played there and it's a bogey ground - all the examples you've cited above have been home wins.

All agreed then. The best team will win.

While we will be missing Chris Smith, Boston will be missing
Centre-half Tony Crane Striker Jon Rowan and Goalkeeper Lee Crockett
So, with ten against eight, we should get a win.

For what it is worth, here is my speculated line-up for Saturday
Belford
Spencer Clarke Heeley Price
Webster Nwadike Clegg Wood
Wilding Danks
Bench: Gill, Khan, Colley, Wright + a youth teamer (or have I forgotten anyone?)
Result - City win 5-3

Crickey Andy, that's optimistic. Heeley at centre back, not likely. He was too slow when he departed to Hinckley.

The prospect of Carl playing again at this level frightens me a bit. He was too slow three years ago.

My Niece's husband must be going crackers. He is a Vale fanatic. But he can't help it, he is a nice guy really.

I can't see Carl getting the nod ahead of Gill; the latter may be young and inexperienced but he's at least fit and not nearing 40.

Playing Shab (who frankly is on borrowed time until a centre comes in) and Gill at the centre of any defence would have been sheer stupidity!! Gill is a sweeper not a centre half ... ... and Shab well its hard to say whats he's good at right now??

I am delighted to be proved absolutely wrong; Carl was fine. But, wcfc2006, you are absolutely right about Shabir Khan; his first kick of the match on Saturday, inside the first two minutes, was an under-hit backpass which could have gifted Boston a very early lead. I'm afraid he is a real weakness.
