Rod Brown left Bromsgrove today. There's a rumour he's left for WOrcester with Carl Heeley as his #2. Any news from you guys?

But according to the Advertiser he was sacked...

ROD Brown has been sacked as manager of Bromsgrove Rovers following Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Banbury United.

Brown, who led the club to promotion to the British Gas Business Premier Division last season, has been removed from the post after a poor run of results which has seen the Greens go eight games without a win.

A brief club statement said: "As of today, Monday November 26, the directors of Bromsgrove Rovers Football Club would like to announce the departure of Rod Brown as manager, and thank him for all his previous work at the club."

There's managers who "have contacts" and then there's managers, like Brown, who "have so many contacts that they sign and release players every other week".

Seriously though a good mixture of experienced heads at non-league level and promising young first-time managers.

If he is one of the two then its great news for the club on top of all the other great news which has come out in the last week,

when i asked the question to a club official the other day, he actually had a smile on his face as he told me i wasnt allowed to know.

Phil Robinson has to be the man, but who is the other one ?

He is a great Manager, he has done a great job at Stafford on no money. At least here he has the finances to bring in new faces and clear out some of the squad. He is being pushed slowly away by the Stafford board. If he doesn't become our manager then he will become someones manager in the very very near future.

I was talking about Rod Brown, sorry I didnt make that clear. I have to say I dont like Staffords style of play they are bully boys. But I may have to like it

Just got back from a spell away with limited access to news from SGL, and sadly I return to a gloomy Message Board. When Preecy says "....on top of all the other great news which has come out in the last week" - what great news? Or is there a touch of irony in the post?

I'm more than old enough to remember not only the Nobby era - but also the dire poo we were in prior to that. We couldn't afford to print programmes and attendances consisted of me and a couple of sparrows. So yes, things have slumped, but we'll be back. We're bigger than this. I don't mean in terms of money nor league positions even. Just spirit.

We do have some decent players in the squad, and yet more who are underacheiving. A new man at the helm could sort that out. And then it's good-bye to anyone who doesn't want to be at the club, and hello to some Midlands based talent that do.

There is some exciting news that will be made official by the club most probably at the same time as the new Manager takes his spot.

Unfortunately i cannot say what this brilliant and exciting news is, I'm afraid everyone will have to wait until DB decides to release a statement.
