Typical I am booked in for total remodelling that night before our christmas ball! Timing is rubbish Paul!
He obviously has no idea how much lyposuction and plastic surgery is involved to turn me in to the belle of the ball!!

As there is likely to be significant interest in the fans forum, I have been asked to point out that space is limited in the HK lounge so it would be advisable to get in there as soon as possible due to health and safety restrictions, the club doesn't want to offend anyone but the doors will be shut when the maximum number of people is reached as a matter of safety.
So please get yourself settled in good and early and take advantage of the draft lager or beer which is on sale.

Thanks to all who turned up to the fans forum held after the Barrow game. It didn't go off completely without incident, City Director and all-round good egg, Derek Jones had his old faithful WCFC fleece taken by mistake? from the Gents toilet in the HK Lounge.
As he will need it next week when he is helping out with the Santa Fun run he would be grateful if it was returned safely.
Besides running the HK Lounge and looking after sponsors Derek does a hell of a lot of unseen work at the club for instance he has just personally forked out £600 for an ultrasound machine for the physio's to use. Its not an expensive or irreplaceable fleece but its the principle of the act.
If anyone knows who has it could they just get it back to Derek please.

It was worth staying for and was well attended. I cant remember all the detail but have tried to summarise the main points below;
Richard Dryden took most of the questions ably assisted by Messrs Boddy and Curtis.
Paul Curtis announced that an initiative to encourage interest from students at the University / College had been tried that afternoon and the club were considering offering a low price entry scheme to encourage new fans from this source. The half time penalty competition had attracted 30 entries and other initiatives were being being actively followed up.
On the new ground DB said that the key members of the new ground team had visited Forest Green, Telford and Burton on Thursday to gain further insight into what really worked at these stadia to add knowledge to a design process for the New Ground that was moving forward rapidly.
The detailed planning applcation, which entailed design and numerous supporting studies was in the process of preparation would be submitted as soon as possible. The marketing process for the sale of SGL continued and was heading for a conclusion.
DB said that the new stadium would hold 6,000 although this might not all be built at once. The speed of construction would depend on the timing of available funding and possibly the progress of additional development on the site. The design brief for the achitect included a requirement to permit capacity to be expanded to 10,000.
The stadium would take 12 motnhs contsruction once planning had been gained. There were no guarantees on the timescale needed to satisfy the planners but we were still aiming to play there in 2009/10 season.
Richard Dryden was warmly welcomed and fielded a range of questions. He is based in Nottingham. His philosophy is get the ball down and play footbal recognising that at times you have to adapt your play to suit the conditions and circumstances. He had already watched City in thier recent games and had bgun to really get to know his players at training last Thursday where he had tried to lift morale with an intense (1.5 hous) but enjoyable session.
He was full of praise for the effort of the side against Barrow. They gave everything and he could ask no more than that.
He had come across Carl Heeley through a friend of a friend and had initially rung him for some insight into the Club. As it turned out they got on and it seemed ideal to bring Carl in as a assistant. Paul Carty will stay on to provide an extra pair of hands for the moment.
In his thre years as assistant at Tamworth he had done pretty much everything. Assessing the opposition, giving pre match and half time team talks and coaching the players. In that period he and the manager had never paid a fee for a player. He thought he would be able to bring the new players if needed. He had been realistic over Patrice Liburd who was out for a couple of weeks and had brought in a replacement and had to let PL go to balance the budget.
He noted that Danny Mac was waiting for the results of a scan and that Adam Burley was not available for the Barrow game through illness. Richard Dryden backed himself to succeed. He was clearly relishing the opportunity to use the knowledge he has gained working for a range of big name managers to the test and to shape a football team in an attractive and effective style. To Richard the history of the City counted for nothing and his aim was the play-offs. He was only looking up!
That was about it really . Others may remember a couple of different things but all in all Richard Dryden is a well spoken and thoughtful and extrememly likeable man who is full of enthusiasm but has a wise head on (relatively) young shoulders. He comes across as totally professional and very very committed and if the sort of spirit and togetherness that the slightly makeshift XI showed against Barrow is the taste of things to come then City fans will have no cause for complaint.
Hurrah!

So some thieving sticky fingered ass has stolen it? Derek is one of those who puts his money where his mouth is as far as WCFC is concerned.

I have spent the morning so far chopping the recording of the forum up into more manageable slices for web users with slower connection speeds and the entire set of clips will be available soon on the wcfc website for all to listen to.

Thanks for the summary of the forum BDS; interesting to hear how Carl came to be involved.
Intersting to read in the NLP today that AP is on a shortlist of five for the Farsley job.

Thanks BDS for the summary.
I hope Derek gets his coat back. That stinks. Derek is 100% WCFC. What sort of scum bag does that?

Could have been worse; some scum bag @ Northwich Victoria stole all the takings (£8k) from a celebration dinner they held to raise funds.
Nevertheless not a nice thing to happen.

You are right preecey and Brooksider DB has been at the boot polish.
When are men going to realise they dont need to dye their hair, there is nowt wrong with grey hair on a man it makes him look distinguished.

Its a big myth this "distinguished" bit. Grey hair on a man (or a woman) makes them look old, its part of the aging process!! Its like that old chestnut about a woman being attracted to a man because of his sense of humour. Be honest ladies, if you walked into a bar and there at the bar were Brad Pitt, Keanu Reeves and Jasper Carrott, who would you want to wake up for breakfast with???

On a woman grey hair makes you look old and dowdy but not on a man. Men seem to worry about a bit of grey or losing their hair. Why???
Men who dye their hair look ridiculous as they dont take into account that their eyebrows are still grey! Considering that you are a heterosexual man Brooksider I find it strange that you would know about older men being distinguished!! I would rather have a man who aged disgracefully than some one who was too vain to admit it!

Why do you find it strange that I as a heterosexual man "know" about older men being distinguished, any more than you as a heterosexual woman "know" about grey hair making a woman look old and dowdy???

I ceased worrying a bit of grey a long time ago; it's all grey now. But losing my hair - now that would be different.
Reminds me of a conversation I had with Andy Ellis's dad in the tea queue, when, after he had revealed he was Andy's dad, I said "but you don't look a bit like him". He took off his hat to reveal the lack of hair and said "now do I look like him".

Yes it amazing how a man can look so different when he loses his hair. I have a friend who i met through football, I only ever saw him with a baseball cap on, I had the shock of my life when it came off once, and he was a chrome dome! He looked at least 10 years older.

We had a guy where I worked at the time who wore a toupee to work and took it off to play the oval ball game; I, likewise, had the shock of my life when I saw his picture in the paper after a game. I don't think I ever felt the same about him after that.
