Is that it then? Or will we have a late surge for the play offs or a relegation battle to entertain us?
We do, of course, have the Senior Cup.
It's quite sad going into a match against a team the league below us completely expecting to lose. We're not good enough. Roll on the cricket season.

Get rid of this "Civitas in Bello et Pace Fidelis" shite off the badge, and replace it with "Anticipointment and Excuses, Same Old Same Old".

I see the remainder of this season as an ideal opportunity for the new manager to assess the current picture and plan for the future, without (fingers crossed) a relegation battle to contend with. I predict three points against Barrow next Saturday - that will cheer us all up.

I fear it will be us fighting to stay up this season rather than Redditch.

I think we'll pick up enough points that we won't end up in a relegation fight. After all there have been a few wins and good performances mixed in with our abject defeats.

Get rid of this "Civitas in Bello et Pace Fidelis" s***e off the badge, and replace it with "Anticipointment and Excuses, Same Old Same Old". I've never quite understood why WCFC have the City of Worcester motto, it would be nice to have our own motto - or just the badge.

It seems to me that a few weeks ago when we were all predicting how City would fare this season, most of us were expecting mid-table obscurity or maybe sneaking the play off's. Now all of a sudden we have a poor squad who are going to have to scrap to stay out of relegation trouble. Why are that same squad that we had at the start of the season suddenly no good?
Can we please have a bit of optimism for God's sake?
This squad is good enough to finish mid-table.
I would remind you all of the league position Crystal Palace were in at Christmas time the season they got promoted. Bottom of the league I believe. Did they not finish as champions that season?
All we need to do is find our own Ian Dowie.

And a couple of defenders, a new midfield, a striker, then we can start dreaming.

I repeat.
Can we have a bit of optimism please?

I am afraid the day of optimism for this season is gone.
We seem to have a mediocre set of players who are somewhat dispirited.
Perhaps this is because of the departure of AP.
But then again he didn't seem to be able to inspire them to greater things, did he?

I repeat. Can we have a bit of optimism please? I have been one of the most optimistic people on this site, but, after watching every game this season, home and away, optimism has gone out of the window. You need to come to terms with the fact that this team, except for a few players, is rubbish, and God help the manager when he starts this week, because he is going to have his work cut out.

All we need to do is find our own Ian Dowie. He was at the darts last weekend in Wolverhampton!

We seem to have lurched into a corporate supporters depression and suddenly all is doom and gloom. It ain't quite as bad as that, even though I have to admit last week was not my favourite week in City's history.
As for the Civitas etc on our badge - what's wrong with that. Worcester has a proud history of loyalty to the Crown and that should be reflected in the City's own football club. Don't chuck history out of the window just like that.

I think we've had this debate before, but Worcester wasn't all that loyal to anyone, a bit of a tart I believe back then! And Worcester City Football Club has little to do with Worcester, apart from having the name Worcester City Football Club and playing there. If we move ground, do we become Wychavon Warriors? If they went pop tomorrow, and Worceser Athletico reformed, then they would be "the City's own football club" probably with a totally different motto, and history would remain intact.

Well I stick to my guns - it's the Faithful City motto for me.
And lest doom and gloom pervade these channels too much let's be objective about last Saturday. City had the same result as Manchester United.
Also three Conference North and South clubs went out to lower graded opposition apart from City (Fisher Athletic, Boston & Eastbourne Boro) and nine (Barrow, Basingstoke, Burscough, Harrogate, Hinckley, Solihull Moors Stalybridge, Hyde and Welling) to teams at the same level.
And the world hasn't come to an end. Let's think ourselves lucky we ain't been flooded out of our homes as many have in Bangladesh.
It was only a football match.

Faithful to the leading side. Sounds fair to me.
I "only" follow The City because the club is now my local team and I refuse to help line the pockets of Premiership players.
