Monday confirmed several things for me. A thin squad in numbers will struggle with 5 first team regulars missing. Fitness levels are down from previous seasons due to the departed and wrongly maligned Jock. Defenders need an option to pass to or play through otherwise the percentage game applies and the ball goes high and long well away from the goal, can get away with it with 3 strikers. It was sad to see lack of drive which has happened away from home but usually there has been some fighting spirit in defeat at SGL evidenced by not a single Yellow Card

Abject, woeful, gutless, spineless, utter crap from beginning to end. I didn't even think Nuneaton were a particularly good side.
I hardly ever leave before the end but I'm afraid even I left when the fourth went in. Many more "performances" (the inverted commas are deliberate - it certainly wasn't a performance) like that and we'd better get the road atlas (or Ealing's satnav) out and start looking for the way to Corby, Bedford and Chasetown.
I stopped counting the mis-placed passes (under no pressure whatever) from Khan, Gill and Burley. You can't pass to the opposition and expect to win games.
The only person I would exempt from criticism was our one-man defence, Chris Smith, and even he got punished for his one mistake. I woke up at 5.00 this morning thinking about the City and came to the conclusion if it's going to have that effect on me then if it wasn't the last straw it was certainly the penultimate one; I have many other things to do rather than come out in the cold and dark to watch that sort of rubbish.
The Chairman wonders why the gates are down; have a look DB at the next home game against Barrow. We'll be lucky to get 600 there I reckon.

Well I've got no idea what you are talking about - like you know anything about football!!! If you don't agree on what I say, that's fair enough, debate it. But damn you if you think I've no right to make them, what an idiot.

Believe it or not last night was nowhere near as bad as Hucknall. At least they were trying, a bit, in the first half even though nothing was going right. And the first 30 mins of the second half was all out attack with Nuneaton not having a single effort on our goal, and yes I know they were sitting back. Also I think we may have seen the champions last night.
How it took Barton so long to take off Gill is beyond me. He had a shocker.

I didnt think we played as bad last night as we did at Alfreton either. We got what we deserved though. I thought Nunneaton played really well, it was difficult to spot a weakness in there side.

I agree with Neils and wh and I'm quite glad you said it first. There was way more good things to say about our performance last night than there was at our real stinkers of the season i.e. Alfreton, Solihull and Hucknall. We were obviously slower and obviously less organised in defence but on the plus side at least we were up for it and wanted to be there, we were combative, we won plenty of headers which we haven't done much of this year, plenty of commitment in the tackle, and we talked to each other a lot, which again was an improvement. People have said we hoofed it up field too much and that's right but we did also try to play it upfield on the ground quite a lot as well (although it got us into trouble a couple of times). I don't really think that the gap between the sides was as big as 4-0 would suggest, we could have caused more problems if we had a bit more pace. But I don't think we'll get much joy on Saturday - unless the beer is good up there.

I think its about time you grew up Niels, I'm not your nemesis, I don't give a monkeys chuff about you, I don't know why you feel the need to attack any post I make, maybe its your own insecurity or something (dreaming of Worcester City Football Club? That would keep the trick cyclists very happy!!), but get this into your head. I am as unimportant as you are! Now if you want to talk content, then lets get it on!!

We left at half time, I have never seen such a pitiful performance from City. Total and utter crap! So that's why I could not see you from my seat in the stand! To be honest, I wish I had not bothered staying for the second half. Apart from Troy Wood I think I could have done better even with my crutches!!! Anyone interested in purchasing a part-used season ticket?

I was going to do the "Season Over" post last night, however on reflection maybe it's not quite over, now we have a long relegation battle to contend with and given our usual performances against teams below us it looks to me like it's going to be a long miserable winter!!!

I hate to say "I told you so" but relying on Gill at the back really was sending a boy to do a mans job. Justin had to be replaced like for like, with an experienced commanding centre half.

I've been at the darts at Wolverhampton for three days, was talking to a couple of Willenhall Town fans last night, both of whom held the City quite close to their hearts as well. Big topic of conversation was Mark Owen, Rapid was also mentioned in despatches "baint up to yower level, lorravit anyhow r". General consensus from them was that City won't ever go anywhere as a club or team in Conference North, it needs relegation and a promotion-winning season to kickstart things. Seem to recall the same conversation back in Worcester in 1984......

Agreeing with Tim yet again ( worrying ), it was gutless garbage with one or two exceptions. Other than a relegation battle, the season is over. Too many of the squad are over rated and over paid, and plainly not up to it. The Board let AP sign too many non entities from up North on fat pay packets and large signing on / transfer fees. The majority of the current squad has a resale value of next to zero and that includes players signed this last close season. Does anyone seriously think that any of the City players would command any reasonable sort of transfer fee ? The likes of Gainsborough, Alfreton, Ilkeston must be laughing all the way to the Northern Rock ! To make things worse, what minimal resale value there is at present will be further diluted by any movement next season into the Southern Division, and the firesale of all those based north of Birmingham. Disillusioned doesn't get close !

Not the best of performances to be fair! But in saying that i thought we just made a couple of individual errors and one of the goals looked offside. The first one was a misplaced pass by Clegg followed by a fantastic early strike, the other was an unlucky mistake by Smudger. Other than that they didnt have many clear cut chances at all, and we created as many as Borough. Acton pulled of a great save from a header in the first half, and we had chances and all of the possesion second half.
There were worse performances than Gill, namely Burley, Smith, Clegg, Nwadike, Wright. But it was a first game back for Gill and Burley and were obivously not match fit and rusty.
But we are quick to write off young players. Gill has put in some good performances this season; Hinckley, Telford, and pre season. At one stage he was a good player, but with young players it sometimes takes time to get that consistency of performing to there capability regularly. Otherwise we will end up having to pay big fees to experienced players all the time. We even wrote of Doran, but for 18 he will do well in the future.
Burley aswell is a good player but has been out for a long time. Nwadike has won player of the month, but didnt pass to a blue shirt once the other night, but that doesnt make him a bad player does it?
We need to get behind the lads, and they are good players.

I feel for Barty and Stanty really. From what I've seen this season, the team just aren't good enough. You can raise their game for the occasional performance, but there just isn't the quality needed at this level. You cannot possibly make a statement like that based on seeing one game! You could make that statement based on only watching ceefax!!
