I always had a lot of time for Paul and I thought his football days were over after that broken leg, but you obviously can't keep a good man down.

He knows how to coach and teach people, not surprisingly as he's head of PE somewhere, and he was always a great guy to have around the place. Call me strangely optimistic, but I am utterly convinced that having people like Stanty and Carts around can only see us going from strength to strength. It may be only a short-term appointment but it is a good one. Well done DB and big respect to the three amigos for helping the club again.

Great News, though with the number helping out I do wonder what may happen if things go the way we hope !

That is great news. I am so glad to hear that he is back at SGL. If he cant motivate those boys noone can.
He has the most adorable smile how can anyone resist him!

It's good to know some players and staff also think a lot of this club. We're not alone.

When you think of the three afore mentioned who have come back to help out it does say something about the love of the club with those who have been involved before. You might have thought JB, for instance, wouldn't want to know after the way he left, but obviously it hasn't left him feeling sore in any way. Very encouraging.

JB's a bigger man than that. You don't get many men of integrity in this game, he's one. It went wrong last time he was manager because he'd been at the club too long and it had all got stale, it needed a new broom and some fresh ideas. For someone to steady the ship and keep things ticking over, you couldn't get a better man for the job.

Took the words out of my mouth TJ. JB is very pragmatic, knows that football has its very highs and its very lows, and knew his time was up last time aroud (anyone doing 5 years in a managers job has done alright!!) And he knows he'll recieve a heroes welcome at SGL

A bit like buses. You wait for one hero to return and rescue us - and three turn up at once.

Too many cooks or just enough bodies to cover the role? Prob the latter. Welcome back one and all.
Anyway I wonder if we might end up with Trooper Stant in the job full time? I think he could make a super No 2.

Delighted this trio is at the helm in the short term but.........I'd like to see the permanent appointment be someone with absolutely no former association with the club.

I hope that the new man at the helm will be from outside the club too but haven't got a problem with former WCFC players etc being involved somewhere. If what Dave Boddy says is right about being in the Conference South I think it then endorses the fact that we need a midlands manager with players from the midlands or as near as can be. We don't want players travelling 1 hour from the north to go and play a team deep in the south.
