I note that lately the City have a new nickname.
In recent reports in the NLP, they have been referred to as "The Royals." Does anyone know where this new nickname comes from.
As I understand it "The Royals" are Reading, i.e from Berkshire.

The only place I can think of is from Worcestershire CCC, whose one-day name is Worcestershire Royals.

Yes I finally get the only copy of the NLP in Norfolk and there is this "Royals" claptrap at the rear. Doesnt he know better?
We are, after all, "John Bartuns Bloo and white Arrmee"(repeat for whole of second half at Stalybridge!)

It's ridiculous; something, I guess, to do with Royal Worcester Porcelain.
Has any genuine supporter ever used the name? I think not.

Never refered myself as a 'royal', I believe it down to the cricketeers.
But the question is 'what is our official nickname?'
