Well done lads, could not attend due to work but I kept an ear out for the score.
It was nice to hear a little 5 minute rant on 5 live this morning about 'the groundsharers' as they were refered to. All this extra revenue will be well spent on their rejuvenated ground.

Evesham rode their luck a bit in the first half hour, but after that the game was even. Defensively they were very well organised, with each player knowing his job ( unusual for a home team at SGL ! ), with the keeper commanding his area and not afraid to come for crosses ( again unusual ). They fully deserved the draw and on another day might have nicked it.

The Halifax supporters were not very happy, shouting for the manager's head,a lot of booing when they went off. They do not keep managers very long Since 1990 they have had 13, 12 to 18 months looks like the average. The one there now has had the job since 2002. Looking at the league table and how they played today, I do not think it will be long before they are calling for a taxi.

seems to have escaped people but had things panned out to the full extent - we would have gotten Evesham away in the first round. Wonder if they had of segregated - with us all in the Canal End?

I went to Forest Green's place to watch Gloucester play my home town banbury ... does this count for anything/ Crap game, 0 - 0, home goalie sent of for handling ouside the area twice, and a crowd of 303! AND, it's a big AND, they had pies!

What was the crowd? Could it be that Evesham pulled in the biggest of the season?

What was the crowd? Could it be that Evesham pulled in the biggest of the season? Att 652, Halifax brought a lot, and a good turn out from the City supporters.

With all the Halifax fans moaning on the Brookside, I thought it was a City game.

It's good to see our Evesham United friends being supported by the City faithful. That will continue on Tuesday as I'll be at the replay at The Shay.

Fantastic result for Evesham, glad to see so many City fans turned out to support them.
I hope all goes well for them in the replay.

Mark Owen played well and his sidekick had one hell of an effort with about 10 to go that was just the other side of the post. At least Halifax tried to play football on the deck but their lack of a deadly striker left them short (despite having Michael Branch on the bench fro most of the game). Nathan Vaughan (EUFC Goalie) was my MoM but Lutzy, Hodnett and Scheppel were not far behind for stopping Town playing in the centre of the park. Altogether a superb collective effort from United.

A decent game all round. Eveshams keeper looked very tidy, controlled his 6yd box and was comfortable further out too. Danny Hodnett had a cracking game, tracking up and down the pitch.

Some have mistaken it for a Halifax Town shirt before although I always make sure I put them right. It's look like last season's red and black will be making an appearance.

A City shirt consigned to the knacker's yard? Blasphemer!

The current HTFC shirt is Errea I believe and identical to City's previous home strip save for the accoutrements

I echo everything that's been said about Evesham; thoroughly enjoyed it even tho' it was a 0-0 draw, and got in for £4.00 (which included a free seat in the stand).
Thought Halifax were very poor; what a pity we didn't get thro' and get drawn at home to them. We might have been in the 1st Round had we had that good fortune.
My MOM was Danny Lennon, Evesham's No 10, who had an excellent game and would not look out of place playing up front for us. He was unlucky not to score. EUFC's goalkeeper also had a very good game, even tho' he spilled the ball once or twice for the most part he was solid.
Slightly surreal was the chant from the Halifax fans "Come on Shaymen", which from a distance sounded just like "Come on City"!
