Juicy away tie at Tamworth on 29 Sept.

Tough draw, and not what City needed really.
To go out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle in a season where the gate are down about 15% would not be good news for the club financially at all.
That said City seem to do well on their travels. Fingers crossed that Tamworth don't exact revenge for the league defeat!

Well Dave, how about getting that stay-away figure down by actually venturing down the Lane and supporting the club you care so much about?

Well Dave, how about getting that stay-away figure down by actually venturing down the Lane and supporting the club you care so much about? I have made very clear my reasons for staying away, and I do not intend to go back down the lane until I have had my faith restored in relation to the new stadium. I will not be putting any more money into the club, whilst the policy remains of telling supporters that news is imminent and then going quiet for months on end, only to pipe up later and say "news is imminent." I have lost faith, and until it is restored I will stay away.

Fair enough Dave. Away games?
Thanks for the FAC details btw.
Suppose Tamworth may not be overly delighted with that draw either?

That draw is awful.
1. City shouldnt even be in the 2nd QR
2. It doesn't help smaller clubs or larger clubs to be drawn against each other at this stage.

Tamworth are the ones who have to do the worrying really. However, they are bound to be "up for it" having lost to us in the league. An intriguing prospect.

Not the best draw for us, but the lads have beaten them already this season.
I am more concerned about the behaviour of their linch mob fans than being beaten.
I just hope that Redditch beat Kettering. I might have to say something nice about them though, which will never happen!!

I have lost faith, and until it is restored I will stay away. Your reasons don't make sense! You want the jam tommorrow but you're not prepared make sure that we reach it by supporting the club today. So you would rather see the club go down, and disappear before we get there? You also complain that Dave and the club keep promising imminent news of the ground move and then don't deliver, but you yourself have joined the chorus wanting a statement when things have been quiet. Catch 22. These things are complicated and can sometimes drag on and on. If you had any idea of how business works then you would know that. I have many issues with the board, some of which have been ignored for many years, but I'm a supporter of Worcester City FC and want the club to be arround for that FA Cup 3rd Round clash against Man U or Chelsea (or even Kiddy in the Conference), and that is why I will be there tonight and every other home match I can possibly get to.

Hear Hear Neils.
Dave, you have made your point by staying away. The club need you right now so show your support and get behind the team - starting tonight.

You also complain that Dave and the club keep promising imminent news of the ground move and then don't deliver, but you yourself have joined the chorus wanting a statement when things have been quiet. Catch 22. Niels, All I have ever looked for is for the board to keep supporters up to date with progress. If there have been things holding the process up, be open about this and release a statement once a month or so to explain to supporters why there is a delay and what they are doing to overcome it. Instead we just get the same re-hashed statement every six months with nothing in between. I appreciate these things can drag on and on, however this issue has dragged on for all the years I have followed City (10 years or more) and I have now had enough of the information giving policy that the board have adopted. As I have said now many times I no longer believe that we will get the "jam tomorrow" because my reading of the accounts (however as you know I know "nothing about business") leads me to believe we will be wound up before we get that far. This is because the gap between our assets and our liabilities is getting ever closer and the debt is building year on year, despite the Cup run money from 2005-06. At some stage our creditors will pull the plug, and if the new ground is not delivered in time, that will be the end of Worcester City FC as we know it. I would love to be wrong, and I would love to see the day WCFC run out at the new stadium, but to date I have seen nothing that has pursuaded me that we are any nearer that day. But hey maybe some news is "imminent". It is encouraging that the board are taking seriously the many concerns supporters have, and the decision by myself and many others to stay away, may have provoked a change in approach on a number of matters, it remains to be seen. If the board changes their approach to issues and evidence of progress on the ground is forthcoming, I will reassess my decision to stay away. Until that time comes however I will continue to be absent from SGL.

Dave, I also would love to hear some news - we all would. But I don't expect to be told the behind the scenes negotiations - that could well scupper a deal. No one in their right minds would publicise details of a property deal of this scale - they wouldn't even for a house sale. You know Dave Boddy well enough to approach him personally and ask him face to face how things are going. The move is in the future sometime - but it's now that's the worry. Niels is right - if we all turn our back on WCFC there will be no club. I hope you have a change of heart and that we'll see you - shirt and all - down at SGL again soon.

Yes but the club can keep supporters informed without divulging sensitive information.
Instead we are just given false hope that "an EGM is about to be called" time after time after time. You know as well as I do that this has been going on for years and years. It has led my to believing that there has been no progress of note and that we are still a long way off reaching the goal.
My personal protest is not going to put the club out of business on its own, my £10 every 2 weeks will not make a huge difference, and I think I am the only person to cite on this forum that the lack of progress on a new stadium as being the reason for staying away. Other peoples reasons may be addressed by the recent upturn in results and performances (as reported) and the outcomes from the fans forum last Saturday.
As promised if the club releases any news regarding significant progress towards a new stadium, that makes me change my mind, I will return.

As promised if the club releases any news regarding significant progress towards a new stadium, that makes me change my mind, I will return. dave had you been at the Lane on saturday, and attended the forum, you would have heard DB say that certain issues have been ironed out, and he is expecting to make an announcement in the next two to three weeks. I've always been racked off with the "imminent" all the time, but i believe DB was sincere about it, and I truly expect something, as he said. So you'll be back mid-October then?
