Having watched the Atherstone defeat today my thoughts are focussed on the retained list and what positions need to be filled for next season.
Goalkeeper current keeper OK
Defence. The major area where new faces are needed. The full backs today had decent games but a new central defence pairing is essential even when Aaron Roberts is fit, to provide completion for places. A fit Fortune M could be a good re-signing.
Midfield We have some decent players here, although playing both Billy Shaw and Reece means we lack a physical dimension. Lorcan and Connor Jakeways can both support James Douglas. Perhaps try to bring back Chris Whittington
Forwards A fit Dylan Hartley and Dimitri Brown will add to our options. I thought Kyonne had a good game today, worked hard and deserved his goal.
so, despite a very disappointing season, with a tighter defence next season could be very different.

It has been hard to watch this season. I saw them win once, draw once and score 3 goals in 7 games. Although a season ticket holder I have only seen 7 games for various reasons, latterly because it has been difficult to watch. During that time there have been many players come and go, which cannot help team cohesion. None of the keepers we have had have done much wrong. Roberts, Hartley and RTR have generally contributed most (when I have watched). The central defence has been like watching a car crash, you hold your breath every time. Hopefully with a close season to work on with players selected by the coaching staff things will improve next year.
However I feel it is getting to the stage where if performances don't improve significantly next season then attendances will be affected. Having been used to watching a standard that has been in the top 2 tiers of non league for many years I have given this level a go but I am getting more choosy when I go. Like supporters everywhere you want your team to do well, win or at least give hope of better things. I am sure the hierarchy are well aware and doing their best.

I think it was maybe more to do with the cost, than the antics on the field, that some were thinking of not renewing? Miss 2 games and you're losing out Whereas Redditch are doing half price tickets and places like Forest Green Rovers are giving the equivilent of 6 free games.
