A excellent much needed three points to put us back in the hunt for a play off place against a physical Highgate United side. City went into to game with Callum Debar and Sam Hall returning to the defence after the 4-3 home defeat and Bekir Halil returning to bring some experience in midfield his first start since the Whittlesey vase exit , with Bailey Fuller on the bench. City went ahead from a Archie Muirhead freekick and Highgate levelled from a dubious penalty and Reiss Taylor-Randle wrapped up the points for City firing a low drive .Ben Tilbury was my man of the match winning all the physical battles in midfield with centre backs Hall and Maphosa solid at the back in absence of the suspended Arron Roberts who still has one game to serve of his three match suspension. We still lack the cutting edge up front with Chinedi Osadebe working hard but missed a good chance in the first half and Bailey Fuller on the bench still un fit. With no match this Saturday and our next game away at Walsall Wood a week tomorrow gives the the injured players time to recover. Going forward we will need all the squad in a hectic end to the season with us needing to win our two games in hand to put pressure on second placed Lichfield . Jude Hill on loan striker from Kidderminster came on late in the second half to hopefully give us some options up front in our remaining fixtures.

A good summary of the game Mark. Didn't feel like a wholly convincing win, but definitely a valuable one.
I am no tactician...but with Jones now hopefully returning and giving us more cover at the back (along with Hall, Maphosa) - I would be tempted to play Roberts up front to give us more options and physical presence.
