A very flattering scoreline with City losing 3-4, with City scoring in the 92nd and 93rd minute ! Outmuscled and out battled by another limited side I'm afraid.
Manager Tim Harris's starting X1 was simply wrong. Curtis Smith is no right back, not good enough defensively, lightweight, and positionally poor. Sam Whitton is no left sided midfield player, whilst George Baker is too lightweight, and whilst skilful, isn't any good at defending. None of these 3 should have started in their positions. Sam Hall and Callum Debar should have started at the back, which would have allowed Tilbury to play in midfield where his physical presence would have helped. City's front 6 were just bullied off the ball, Will Gibbons had no service or support, and Bailey Fuller's injury just about topped it off.
Walsall Wood realised within 5 minutes that Curtis Smith was the weak link at the back, and just attacked City's right side continually. The defence was pulled out of position time and again, whilst going forward there was no support for Gibbons with the City midfield permanently 30 yards away from him. There was very little purpose and idea going forward. Two very late goals gave the scoreline a flattering view, in a game where City were second best for the vast majority of it. Another excellent crowd deserved a lot better.

A another game where the manager has got it wrong , why was Tilbury playing at centre back ? With Sam Hall on the bench and Curtis Smith has been poor at right back and got exposed again , with Debar on the bench . Defensively we were ripped apart and clueless, Baker has been poor since he came back from injury and lightweight. Until we can get some new blood in up front I cannot see things improving with injuries to Fuller and Whitton , Gibbons on holiday and Roberts suspended for another 2 more games.

As has been said above Walsall Wood were stronger physically. Their number 7 was a constant threat down their left. They seemed to be 3 up without having to do a great deal. City's cause was not helped by knocks to Fuller and Whitton. Pulling a goal back raised hopes which were soon dashed when the Wood cut through the defence again not long after. Not quite happening at the moment.

Despite the crappy weather, it was another good sized crowd. So that's a positive.

The attendance was a magnificent 525 ( 20 Walsall Wood ? ). How are we losing to teams who to be frank, hardly any City fan had ever heard of prior to Hampson pulling the chain on us ?
On the Midland Football League results from yesterday, there are 4 attendances shown for the Premier Division - 65,68,83, and 104. Premier Division ? I've seen 500 plus watch Archdales play Metal Box in the Worcester Prem !
