A 3-1 loss, our only goal was an own goal in the first half.

Although we have 3 games in hand, Hanley are now 19 points ahead of us at the top of the table. With automatic promotion most likely off the cards, if we can go on a good run we still have a fair chance of a second place finish and (hopefully) winning our ‘playoff’ game to be promoted that way.

It was a fair result. AFCW were a strong side, very organised and competitive. We ended up getting overrun in midfield after a bright start, and in fairness it was probably quite an adjustment for the team with no Shaw or Withington.

A reminder of how tough this league is. Any one of probably 5 teams can conceivably make 2nd place - and our next 3 games are against two of them (Shifnal twice and Boldmere).

The next 2 weeks will be interesting!
